Abstract

The increasing consumption of news and information that is widespread throughout the city has made used newspaper waste become abundant, due to the lack of attention from the public and the government. In fact, used newspaper waste can be processed into a product that has high economic value. The amount of paper or newspaper waste itself should be an opportunity to get extra income that can be obtained by local residents, one of which is a biocomposite material that can be used for handicraft products and other accessories. Efforts to empower the potential of housewives should be something that needs to be done, especially for those who depend on their family's economic income only on their husbands. As happened in Kelurahan Tasikmadu Malang, most of the housewives there have not even realized their potential. That reason is the background for the implementation of counseling on the use of newspaper biocomposite which aims to motivate and explore the potential of housewives in Kelurahan Tasikmadu Malang, especially in the neighborhood of RT 1 RW 4 Tasikmadu. With this training, it is hoped that mothers can gain knowledge and skills so that they can be applied in real life. The end result hopes that this activity can contribute to mothers to improve family welfare.

Abstract

Equipment is the most important thing in production activities as an auxiliary method when carrying out the process so that it is more effective. Bottled drinking water companies are industries whose activities use various supporting equipment in their production process. Among them is the need for appropriate packaging desk equipment. In this community service, we redesigned the bottled water packaging table. The table redesign stage includes anthropometric measurements of the employee's body. The table redesign process requires several stages such as making 2D and 3D designs and determining the tools and materials used. The size of the table is based on the calculation of the employee's posture by determining the percentile used, so that the size of the table is 88 cm high, 80 cm long and 65 cm wide using two percentiles, namely the 95th percentile for table height and 5th percentile for table length and width. By implementing a jack system on the table so that the table height is easily adjusted so that employees can easily determine the size of the table height according to their body posture.

Abstract

The oil and gas industry is a workplace with many sources of danger, such as gas pressure, explosions, fire, electricity, moving equipment, and transportation. Field observations often result in work being stopped due to findings regarding unsafe conditions and unsafe actions in the workplace. Efforts can be made to protect workers' occupational health and safety by creating a safe climate in the workplace. This research aims to provide improvement solutions based on the safety climate factors that are most important in improving occupational health and safety in construction work. This research uses quantitative research methods. The research was conducted at the PT XYZ Bunyu fieldwork area in Bulungan Regency, North Kalimantan Province. The population used was all construction work employees under the supervision of the operation & surface facilities construction department, totalling 200 workers, while the sample was 180 workers. This research uses the Exploratory Factor Analysis method. The safety climate factor analysis results show that the total variance is 86.538%. Four factors were produced: training and compliance for occupational health and safety at 60.58%, leadership, knowledge, and attitude of workers at 15.392%, management commitment and worker initiative at 6.313%, and safety campaign at 4.248%. Implementing the proposed improvements uses one factor, a safety campaign, where observations indicate that field implementation has been carried out well. This research does not analyse the relationship between the influence of safety climate factors on occupational health and safety; the suggestions for further research include examining the relationship between the influence of safety climate factors on occupational health and safety to find out the technical aspects and to apply existing factors directly in the field.

Abstract

Batik is one of the works owned by the Indonesian Nation, which has noble values and is recognized by other nations. The rapid development of batik makes batik makers need to pay attention to the production process carried out, In carrying out the activities of making stamped batik, it has not been supported by a special work table. Still using an ordinary stamp table that is less comfortable to use for stamped batik. So that in doing their work craftsmen have low productivity and efficiency. This research was conducted at PT XYZ to evaluate and reduce the risk of musculoskeletal disorders in stamped batik makers through ergonomic work table redesign. The research method used is case study-based quantitative, with a population of PT XYZ employees who work as stamped batik makers. Primary data was collected through observation, questionnaires and interviews. Posture measurements were carried out using the NBM (Nordic Body Map) questionnaire, to determine musculoskeletal complaints including 28 muscle parts in the musculoskeletal system on both sides of the body right and left. Then posture measurements were taken using the REBA (Rapid Entire Body Assesment) method. The results of the NBM questionnaire showed that before the improvement of the stamp batik had a high chart of complaints of pain in the musculoskeletal muscles and also the results of the REBA score showed a high risk of musculoskeletal disorders, especially in the neck, shoulders, bronze, arms and legs. After the implementation of a more comfortable stamp work table design and stamp stove table (Adjustable) there was a significant decrease in the REBA score decreasing from 8 to 1. This shows a significant reduction in the risk of musculoskeletal disorders, so that ergonomic work table design can reduce the risk of musculoskeletal disorders at PT XYZ and increase worker comfort.

Abstract

PT XYZ is a fermentation industry that uses Human Machine Interfaces (HMI) in the production process. With high mental workload of operators, it can disrupt company productivity. In 2021, the achievement of the percentage of production failure targets at PT XYZ has not reached the set target. The purpose of this study is to measure and make improvements to the mental workload at PT XYZ. The research method is to measure mental workload using the NASA TLX questionnaire, conduct data analysis using descriptive statistics, and conduct a paired t-test to compare the results of mental workload before and after improvement.. From the research results, the mental workload score was 72.64 in the high category. Of the six NASA TLX dimensions, operators experienced time demands of 24.1%, effort 23.1%, mental demands 22.3%, performance 20.2%, physical demands 9.3% and frustration 1.0%. The improvement results can reduce the high mental workload of operator from 82 to 74 with a significant level of 0.004, and increase the low mental workload of operators from 53 to 66 with a significant level of 0.129.
