Abstract

The reliability of medical Internet of Things (IoT) systems is critically dependent on network resilience, particularly in indoor hospital environments where conventional Wi-Fi infrastructures are vulnerable to single points of failure. Although ESP-Mesh has emerged as a promising self-healing communication protocol, its performance characteristics in medical IoT monitoring contexts remain insufficiently explored. This study aims to experimentally characterize the performance of ESP-Mesh networks for resilient medical IoT monitoring systems by analyzing multi-hop latency behavior, signal degradation, and communication stability under indoor medical-like conditions. A multi-parameter monitoring prototype integrating infusion volume, drip rate, and heart rate sensors was deployed as an experimental platform. Network performance was evaluated through controlled measurements of RSSI, end-to-end latency, and self-healing behavior, while MQTT was employed to assess cloud-based transmission efficiency. The results demonstrate that ESP-Mesh maintains stable self-healing communication with an average multi-hop latency of 0.714 s across distances up to 5 m, with latency increasing consistently as RSSI decreases. MQTT cloud transmission achieved a lower average latency of 0.247 s with zero packet loss, confirming its suitability for lightweight medical data delivery. Sensor evaluation revealed high accuracy for infusion volume monitoring (95.42%), while heart rate and drip rate measurements exhibited lower reliability due to signal interference and environmental sensitivity. These findings provide empirical insights into the performance limits and trade-offs of ESP-Mesh networks in medical IoT environments. The study confirms the feasibility of ESP-Mesh as a resilient communication backbone for medical monitoring, while highlighting the necessity of advanced signal processing to achieve clinical-grade sensing reliability.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the relationship model between the performance of jawarandu goats with the level of corn tebon silage feeding and the length of maintenance. The material used was 20 Jawarandu goats consisting of 4 treatments. The treatments given were field grass + corn tebon silage + concentrate with treatment levels P0 = 70% field grass 30% concentrate; P1 = 50% field grass, 20% corn tebon silage, 30% concentrate; P2 = 20% field grass, 50% corn tebon silage, 30% concentrate; P3 = 70% corn tebon silage, 30% concentrate. The results of this study were the average feed consumption of 684.15-908.94 g/head/day, average daily body weight gain of 68.00 g/day; 71.34 g/day; 77.02 g/day; 79.15 g/day, average feed conversion of 10.08 ± 2.16; 10.52 ± 2.38; 10.84 ± 1.78; and 10.61 ± 1.72, average feed cost per gain of Rp 20. 161.75 /kg; Rp 26,302.25/kg; Rp 27,105.74/kg; Rp 26,519.50/kg. After analyzing various regression models, the multiple linear regression model is a good model for research because the relationship between treatment and length of maintenance with feed consumption shows the coefficient of determination (R2) which is close to 1. The research concluded that the best treatment level in the study was the P3 treatment level in the 5th month with a daily body weight gain of 86.67 g/e/day with a feed conversion value of 9.53. The regression model that can be used for estimation of ration consumption from the treatment of corn tebon silage and length of maintenance is Y = 349.437 + 3.193X2 + 111.427X2, The value of the coefficient of determination (R2) which is close to 1 is on the feed consumption variable with a value of 0.982 or 98.2% which means that the closer to the number 1, the better the results

Abstract

Zeolite had been widely investigated in animal feed for its ability to improve feed efficiency and reduce ammonia emissions, and nano-zeolite offered greater adsorption capacity due to its expanded surface area. This study evaluated the effects of nano-zeolite supplementation on ammonia (NH₃), volatile fatty acids (VFA), the VFA/NH₃ ratio, and pH during in vitro rumen fermentation. A two-factor randomized block design (6 × 6) with four replicates was used. Incubation time (2, 4, 8, 12, 24, and 48 h) served as the first factor, and six dietary treatments served as the second factor: control, urea-supplemented concentrate, inactivated nano-zeolite, activated nano-zeolite, urea-impregnated inactivated nano-zeolite, and urea-impregnated activated nano-zeolite. Nano-zeolite, whether active or urea-impregnated, did not significantly improve rumen fermentation efficiency based on NH₃, VFA, or VFA/NH₃ ratio. All nano-zeolite diets performed similarly to the control and urea-only diets. Fermentation efficiency peaked at 4 and 8 hours of incubation, indicating that nano-zeolite combined with urea supported stable fermentation, particularly during early to mid-incubation.
