Abstract

The sultan who ruled at this time, Sultan Hamengkubuwa X did not have a son to be appointed as crown prince but according to court customs, if he did not have a son then the royal throne would fall to the sultan's younger brother. Abstract

This study discusses the communication strategy of the Bantul General Election Commission in disseminating the implementation of Regional Head Elections during the Covid-19 Pandemic. The background of this research because the Regional Head Election (Pilkada) was held in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, which spreads very quickly from human to human, so the government urges to maintain distance to prevent the transmission and spread of Covid-19. Pilkada which is actually a people's democratic party which usually gathers a lot of masses to get support. This study used descriptive qualitative method. The results of the study show that all stages of the elections carried out by the KPU Bantul are in accordance with PKPU Number 5 of 2020, by implementing health protocols and conducting online and offline socialization involving all elements of election organizers as well as regional stakeholders make the voters lead to high voters turnout in Bantul.

Abstract

This study discusses Muhammadiyah Senior Care as an idea and innovation in social services. This model is part of the new characteristics in social service activities for the elderly. This in-depth study was carried out using a qualitative research approach with a descriptive type. Observations, interviews, and documentation that have been carried out are processed and analyzed by reducing data, displaying, and drawing conclusions. The results of this study indicate that Muhammadiyah Senior Care presents 3 steps of social services in the form of religious services, health services, and economic empowerment services. These three services are innovations as well as advocacy for the community to encourage increased social welfare.Keywords: Social Service, Elderly, Muhammadiyah, Empowerment, social advocacy

Abstract

AbstractThe purpose of this study is (1) To find out the problems faced by the Community Empowerment Council (MPM) in carrying out community empowerment programs in TPST Piyungan. (2) Knowing the impact of community empowerment programs conducted by MPM in TPST Piyungan (3) Knowing the role and participation of youth in community empowerment programs carried out by MPM at TPST Piyungan. This research uses descriptive qualitative method. The results showed (1) Problems faced by MPM came from the surrounding community who did not know the empowerment program in detail (2) Impacts that occurred in the community were united in a community that had been scattered in several collectors groups and better understood their potential (3) Youth who are members of the community empowerment facilitator play an active role in conducting empowerment programs.

Abstract

Penyalahgunaan narkoba adalah ancaman terbesar yang dihadapi oleh negara Indonesia saat ini khususnya bagi kalangan generasi milenial. Penyalahgunaan narkoba ini sebagian besar disebabkan karena kalangan milenial dibebaskan dalam mengakses jaringan internet sehingga komunikasi antar jejaring sosial lebih mudah terbentuk. Selain itu, kurangnya pengawasan dari pihak keluarga dan lemahnya pendidikan karakter anak di sekolah menjadi pemicu utamanya. Permasalahan narkoba di Indonesia memerlukan perhatian khusus dari setiap kalangan, khususnya para tokoh masyarakat. Pemberdayaan tokoh masyarakat dalam mengantisipasi penyalahgunaan narkoba diwujudkan dengan memberikan penyuluhan keagamaan untuk membangun pribadi generasi yang berakhlak mulia, melakukan sosialisasi atau penyuluhan dampak dan bahaya penggunaan narkoba, hingga pada pemberlakuan pendidikan karakter kepada tiap generasi muda. Mitra dalam pelaksanaan pengabdian ini adalah kepala desa Tellu Boccoe, Badan Narkotika Nasional (BNN) Kabupaten Bone dan Tokoh Masyarakat. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan meliputi koordinasi, persiapan dan pelaksanaan seminar. Adapun hasil yang diperoleh yaitu pelaksanaan seminar akan bahaya penyalahgunaan narkoba ini memberikan manfaat dan pengetahuan kepada masyarakat khususnya para tokoh masyarakat. Para tokoh masyarakat telah mampu mengenali tanda-tanda anak terjerat penyalahgunaan narkoba. Di samping itu sebagai bentuk tindak lanjut dalam kegiatan ini, pemerintah desa Tellu Boccoe menyusun strategi dengan melakukan penyuluhan rutin kepada sekolah- sekolah di desa terkait dengan pendidikan karakter agar generasi muda terhindar dari perilaku menyimpang yang mampu menjerumuskan ke dalam bahaya narkoba.

Abstract

This research focuses on exploring the effectiveness of the Describing Picture Strategy in teaching speaking skills to students. The study aims to enhance students' English-speaking abilities by employing visual aids such as pictures during the learning process. The qualitative research design was utilized, and data were collected through interviews and observations with an English teacher at SMK Muhammadiyah 1 Banjarmasin. The findings demonstrate that using pictures as speaking prompts can improve pronunciation, vocabulary retention, and overall language confidence. Additionally, picture-based activities engage students and create a more enjoyable learning experience. The study recommends that English teachers integrate the Describing Picture Strategy in their teaching approaches to foster active classrooms and enhance students' interest and proficiency in speaking English. However, the research acknowledges the need for further investigation to address certain limitations and refine the strategy for optimal results.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the advocacy strategies implemented by the Social Service Council of the Regional Leadership of Muhammadiyah in the Special Region of Yogyakarta (MPS PWM DIY) in addressing the case of Grup Jaya Musik, a group of blind musicians who faced obstacles in performing in the Malioboro area due to urban redevelopment policies. MPS PWM DIY, which has evolved into an organization with a broader scope of social services, plays a crucial role in advocating for the rights of people with disabilities. This research adopts a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data collection methods include observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings reveal that the advocacy strategy employed by MPS PWM DIY involves a multisectoral collaborative approach, realized through dialogues with stakeholders and cross-sector collaboration with local government and private sector entities. Additionally, MPS PWM DIY proactively advocates for legal certainty for the disabled community, emphasizing the urgency of inclusive and clear policy reforms. The study highlights the critical role of religious organizations in broader social advocacy and underscores the importance of a multisectoral collaborative approach in strengthening advocacy efforts. The findings from this study offer an advocacy model that can be adapted by other organizations in similar contexts and have significant implications for the development of disability rights advocacy strategies at the national level. Keywords: Advocacy Strategies, Disability Rights, Social Services, Multisectoral Collaboration   Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis strategi advokasi yang diterapkan oleh Majelis Pelayanan Sosial Pimpinan Wilayah Muhammadiyah Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta (MPS PWM DIY) dalam menangani kasus Grup Jaya Musik, sebuah kelompok musisi tunanetra yang mengalami hambatan untuk tampil di kawasan Malioboro akibat kebijakan penataan ulang. MPS PWM DIY, yang telah berkembang menjadi organisasi dengan cakupan pelayanan sosial yang lebih luas, memainkan peran krusial dalam memperjuangkan hak-hak penyandang disabilitas. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan desain studi kasus. Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan meliputi observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa strategi advokasi yang diterapkan oleh MPS PWM DIY melibatkan pendekatan kolaboratif multisektor, yang diwujudkan melalui audiensi dengan pemangku kepentingan serta kolaborasi lintas sektor dengan pemerintah daerah dan sektor swasta. Selain itu, MPS PWM DIY secara proaktif memperjuangkan kepastian hukum bagi kelompok difabel, dengan menekankan pada urgensi reformasi kebijakan yang inklusif dan jelas. Penelitian ini menyoroti pentingnya peran organisasi keagamaan dalam advokasi sosial yang lebih luas serta pentingnya pendekatan kolaboratif multisektor dalam memperkuat upaya advokasi. Temuan dari penelitian ini menawarkan model advokasi yang dapat diadaptasi oleh organisasi lain dalam konteks serupa dan memiliki implikasi yang signifikan bagi pengembangan strategi advokasi hak-hak penyandang disabilitas di tingkat nasional. Abstract

This research aims to identify the organizational strategies implemented by the Madiun City Zakat Infaq Shodaqoh Muhammadiyah (LazisMu) Institution in an effort to meet the needs of residents affected by the disaster in Cianjur, West Java in 2022. Optimal organization in the work environment is not only managing human resources, but also optimize existing resources, creating significant behavioral and social change. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. The research results highlight the initiatives and discretionary policies taken by LazisMu management in carrying out organizing, especially in achieving the needs of disaster-affected residents in Cianjur, West Java in 2022. The findings of this research explain the existence of five key sub-dimensions, which include alignment, governance, and governance. governance and compliance, process improvement and improvement, risk management and information technology.

Abstract

This research is to observe the flow of optimization and use social media of the General Election Commission (KPU) Bantul Regency to welcome the 2024 election and its effect on society. This study also examines the effect of branding as an election organizer that can be recognized by the public using descriptive qualitative methods. The results of this study, the Bantul Election Commission increases media literacy ahead of the democratic party as a way of branding election organizers by maximizing digital tools including Websites, Instagram, Facebook and Youtube in an effort to  increasing voter participation and public trust.
