Abstract

This research was conducted to analyze the causes of the problems faced by PT X. The company is currently only able to make 46% of the 84 shipments in 2018. This is caused by the accumulation of isotank in the customer's area for a long time. Therefore, the company wants to invest in the addition of permanent storage in consumer areas, simulations are needed to find out the results obtained after the installation of storage. This research was conducted using Promodel simulation software to describe the current situation. The study was conducted in 2 stages, first modeling the initial conditions to obtain a basis for the proposed model, then simulating the proposal and analyzing whether the proposal that was carried out was influential or not. Results of simulation results show that with the addition of permanent storage, the total shipments owned by the company increased to 56% and got its investment capital back after 6.1 years and have present worth value Rp943.839.385.

Abstract

PT. X is a logistical company and already has a network throughout Indonesia. PT. X has several modes of transportation to serve customers, one of which is ships. In order for the ship to continue to function properly, maintenance is needed, one of which is replacing some parts. Spare parts are usually imported from 3 countries, namely China, Japan and Korea. However, this study only focuses on imported goods from China. Imported goods will be charged with import fees by the customs. There is a way so that companies do not have to pay import duties, namely by requesting the Certificate of Origin (COO) Form E from the supplier. COO Form E is a special COO for goods imported from China. However, there are 91.49% of Form E that cannot be made in 2020. This study aims to analyze the reasons why import duties are not reduced/ exemptions, provide suggestions in order to maximize the possibility of obtaining a reduction/ exemption of import duties. The solution given is to create a checklist system created using Microsoft Excel Macro.

Abstract

PT X is a global bicycle industry that develops, manufactures, and markets bicycles around the world. One of the brands produced by PT X is brand Y. The problem faced by the Supply Department of brand Y is the inaccuracy of scheduling and determining the number of the lot size of bicycle models in placing orders. This inaccuracy is due to a large number of models, model levels, and SKU (Stock Keeping Units) every year. The purpose of this research is to design placement orders as a supporting tool to predict the schedule and optimizing the number of order lot size in the long run. There are two methods that researcher used, which is qualitatively (by interview) and quantitatively (modeling based on data history and designing the system using Visual Basic Excel version 7.1). The result obtained by this research is the estimated order entered by the user in the system can be scheduled and optimized automatically using excel. The main conclusion that can be drawn is the design of placement orders as a supporting tool that can eliminate the inaccuracy planning of placing orders. This design has also been successfully verified and validated.

Abstract

PT. X is a company that has long been engaged in the glass manufacturing business and has several production plants. One of the plants of PT. X., which produces industrial glass have been had delivery lateness around 57% of all orders that have been received during January to May 2021. One of the factors that made lateness in delivery was came from the lack ability from Production Department to fulfil orders because the schedule for each machine did not made regularly. This research wishes to be able to give a scheduling improvement that can lower the rate of delivery lateness. The actual scheduling condition in that plant is done by manually moving the prioritized items  with Microsoft Excel program. This research will discuss the proposed Flexible Flowshop scheduling using Microsoft Excel VBA program with the objective function of minimizing the total weighted number of tardy jobs. The results of the proposed scheduling with the Microsoft Excel VBA program have a 25% better solution than the actual method. In addition, this method can shorten the working time of PPIC staff in generating scheduling for each machine.

Abstract

The activity of splitting purchase orders at the company is a quantity separation process that is carried out because there are requests for revision of needs and changes in the arrival schedule of raw materials. PO split activities have an inefficiency impact on procurement administration activities and warehousing activities. The company has designed several ordering methods that can accommodate these conditions, namely minimum order quantity, max lot size, and rounding value. Goal of the research is to create a classification model that categorize the optimal ordering method for raw materials. It begins by evaluating the pattern of raw material features, then designs the levels of the raw material's characteristic combination. The author then defines the scenarios that occur from the combination of characteristics and levels. Finally, by integrating raw material data to a defined scenario, the author creates an automated model. As a result of the research, the model could classify raw materials based on the company's characteristic data, determining whether or not the minimum order quantity, maximum lot size, and rounding value ordering method are required. Companies can use the categorization model to detect and classify raw material ordering methods more easily, rapidly, and consistently.
