Abstract

The aim of this research is to trace environmental issues in the arena of electoral political battles, namely political parties in 2019. The concern so far in electoral political practice, environmental issues in the series of election activities are rarely discussed. As a result, environmental issues are so close to society, as if they have become elite issues as a result of the failure of political parties to bring this issue into the public sphere. The research method in this research is descriptive qualitative with a library research approach. Validation of this research data uses the triangulation method. Researchers collect data through various documents, media or other sources such as books, journals, news, or aggregate data originating from formal institutions such as election bureaucracy institutions and political parties. The research results show that the production of environmental issues presented by political parties in Indonesia is very weak. Environmental issues that should be public issues seem to be private issues. This can be seen in a series of good campaign processes carried out by political parties. Political party campaigns are still minimal and do not even mention environmental issues in their campaigns. Environmental issues, which should be equal to issues of health, education, employment, transportation, politics and security, are being sharply dichotomized in the public sphere. Therefore, the positioning of environmental issues is important for political parties to be involved in public issues that should be so.

Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to discuss the challenges of sustainable waste management in Batang Regency. The challenges of waste management in Batang Regency are a serious issue that must be resolved. This is because the increasing volume of waste every year is not balanced by good management. This situation is reinforced by the availability of limited infrastructure and also the low cultural conditions of the community. Therefore, in the midst of the waste problem, it is important to see the challenges faced by the Batang Regency Government in handling waste management when the Randukuning TPA is overloaded. This study uses a literature review, where researchers use secondary data to answer the problem formulation. The data were collected and selected from various media, writings, journals, or other secondary sources and analyzed using the Milles and Hubberman qualitative analysis method. The results of the study indicate that the challenges of waste management in Batang Regency still cannot get an ideal solution. This is considering the various limitations and lack of supporting suggestions so that waste to this day has not been fully resolved with a long-term solution. In addition, the strategy played by the Batang Regency Government is still not focused on education and the formation of community behavior patterns in managing household waste independently. These challenges are becoming increasingly complex, requiring other alternatives in waste management in Batang Regency Government.

Abstract

The purpose of this paper will discuss the communication of the 'Aisyiyah environmental movement in creating gender justice through Media Advocacy Theory (MAT). The problem of environmental damage is still a serious problem that can threaten human life. This problem will have a worse impact on human life if there are no concrete rescue efforts. Interestingly, the impact of environmental damage often targets women's groups. This group is most vulnerable to environmental damage. However, in the midst of the risk and vulnerability of women due to environmental damage, the 'Aisyiyah group is able to show another face as a strong woman. The existence of the 'Aisyiyah environmental movement is constructed to be able to offer and promote how women have the ability to be involved in environmental rescue efforts. This movement is of course a form of resistance from Muslim women's groups who have so far been considered marginal. This study uses a qualitative type with a phenomenological approach. This method is used as a study of awareness and mindset towards the 'Aisyiyah environmental movement. While the data collection technique uses observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The stages of this phenomenological research include determining the subject and subject of research, the approach process, informant determination strategies, data collection techniques, data recording procedures, field issues, and data storage as well as the final reporting stage. The results of the study show that the use of media plays an important role in the communication of the 'Aisyiyah environmental movement. In addition to being able to support movement activities and mass information, the media is also able to capture every environmental advocacy carried out by 'Aisyiyah. Interestingly, in the media and advocacy of the movement, it is also strengthened by the use of environmental issue framing that is able to mobilize the public that women are able to be tough and empowered.

Abstract

Success in creating local MSME product branding is a strategy for MSME players to grow. This is because without innovative product branding, local MSME players will not be able to survive. Only through attractive MSME branding will the product's market share be able to extend beyond regional boundaries. The purpose of this article is to describe that creating local MSME branding is really needed by MSME actors in Blado Village. Moreover, its implementation is supported by the presence of KKN students so that the mentoring process can be carried out. The mentoring service program for KKN students is important because they become facilitators who relate directly to the MSME community. Therefore, the method used in this service is a method of mentoring KKN students which it is hoped that the students will be able to translate this into society. The results show that program assistance to KKN students can be implemented well because students as facilitators to the community are able to carry out their duties with significant acceptance from the community of MSME actors.

Abstract

This article describes the ecotheological movement of the Muhammadiyah Environmental Council (Majelis Lingkungan Hidup abbreviated MLH in Bahasa Indonesia) in response to the environmental crisis. The birth of the ecotheological movement in Muslim communities such as Muhammadiyah is a new awareness in the Islamic world. This is because, so far, the issues of environmental crisis have only grown and developed in the world of self-help (secular organizations). As a result, it raises the question of how the role of religion, more precisely the Muslim community, has tended to be passive in responding to environmental crises. Therefore, the spirit of Al-Ma'un's theology at Muhammadiyah in recent years has begun to find its relevance in identifying the environment as ecotheology. The research method used in this research is descriptive and qualitative, which aims to understand the ecotheology movement in MLH. Liberation theology theory (Gustavo Guiterez) and ecotheology are used to analyze the environmental movement in this Muslim community. The findings of this study explain that the ecotheology movement at MLH was born as a manifestation of the theology of Al-Ma'un 1912, which, one century after its birth, has not responded to the issue of environmental damage. However, since the liberation theology of the 1980s has become a global narrative, KH Ahmad Dahlan's theology has found its relevance and pioneered the religious community movement. The involvement of these groups, such as MLH, is a new chapter in how religion is relevant in bringing theological messages that have not been seen so far.

Abstract

Despite high expectations for Indonesia’s elections, including the most recent in 2024, widespread violations undermined their integrity. In response, there is a pressing need for grassroots participation in electoral monitoring to complement formal oversight by government bodies. This article investigates community-based participatory election supervision through the establishment of Election Monitoring Villages in Batang Regency, Indonesia. The study aims to assess how these initiatives enhance grassroots democratic literacy and foster meaningful political engagement. Employing a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through interviews with 10 informants, field observations, and a review of relevant literature. Four monitoring villages—Sijono, Bandar, Ujung Negoro, and Sidorejo—were established by the local Elections Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) based on strategic and participatory considerations. The findings reveal that these villages have raised public awareness of electoral processes, strengthened civic responsibility, and encouraged residents to actively report violations. Academically, this study contributes to the discourse on participatory democracy by offering empirical evidence of how structured village-based programs can cultivate political awareness and expand community oversight. The research concludes that monitoring villages function not only as mechanisms for electoral supervision but also as platforms for civic education and democratic consolidation.
