Abstract

This research is entitled Perceptions of Students of Universitas PGRI Adi Buana Surabaya on the Tattoo Tradition of Students from the Mentawai Islands. The research aims to determine the students' views about the Mentawai tattoo tradition which is against the world of education. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative method. The results of the study showed that the perception of students at the PGRI Adi Buana University Surabaya towards tattoos was very positive, more than 75% of students already understood the outline of tattoos, both tattoos as a symbol of identity and as art. Most students agree that tattoos have now become a trend that cannot be separated from modern society. Even the pictures are so diverse and interesting that what was once seen as scary has now become commonplace. They understand that a person who has a tattoo does not mean someone who is not intellectual or has no skills. They are free people and appreciate the art that is applied to their bodies. As long as its existence does not disturb others there should be no problems and there is no need to label the tattooed person as evil or close to deviant behavior.Keywords: Mentawai Tattoos, Tattoo Perception,

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to improve the Indonesian language skills of Luveta Elementary School Surabaya students through digital media-based literacy. This research is a qualitative research. The research subjects were students of SD Luveta Surabaya. Data collection techniques were carried out by means of observation, interviews, and documentation. Based on the results of the study, it was found that digital media-based literacy activities helped students in developing oral and written skills. At the habituation stage is the key to the success of literacy. The average student still has problems because the vocabulary is still lacking so that the ability to compose sentences is still not optimal. However, at the development stage students begin to be able to adapt and be able to understand well the contents of the reading and be able to express opinions with the right diction, the sentence structure still needs to be improved and also needs to practice loading conclusions. While in the third stage of learning, students are getting better because they are able to read with good pronunciation and intonation. Meanwhile, to make student resumes, there are no scores below the average, meaning that the clarity of content, spelling, completeness, wording, and neatness is getting better.

Abstract

Salah satu bentuk pengembangan kompetensi yaitu pendidik wajib memunyai kemampuan untuk menulis karya tulis ilmiah. Untuk membuat karya tulis ilmiah, pendidik harus memahami ragam bahasa ilmiah. Penggunaan ragam bahasa ilmiah menjadi dasar lemahnya pendidik dalam membuat karya tulis ilmiah. Karakteristik masalah tersebut di antaranya penggunaan ejaan, kalimat, terdapat keambiguan, bersifat konotatif serta pengunaan bahasa secara lisan dalam mempersentasikan karya tulis ilmiah yang masih dirasa tidak baku. Oleh sebab itu, pengabdian pada masyarakat dengan mitra Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat ini bekerjasama dengan mitra para pendidik SMP-SMA di kecamatan Waru Sidoarjo. Tujuanya untuk melatih para pendidik menulis karya ilmiah dengan bagus, bersamaan dengan mempublikasikan karya tulisnya. Kegiatan tersebut dilakukan dalam bentuk kegiatan pelatihan, pangajaran, tanya jawab, diskusi dan praktek menulis karya ilmiah secara daring. Hasil dari kegiatan ini adalah terlaksananya pelatihan karya tulis ilmiah untuk pendidik SMP-SMA di kecamatan Waru Sidoarjo sesuai dengan langkah-langkah pada metode penelitian. Selain itu, hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan. Hal tersebut dapat dilihat dari hasil angket keefektifan dan jumlah guru yang mampu membuat karya tulis ilmiah.

Abstract

Perlatihan penulisan best practice ini bertujuan untuk memberi wawasan tentang penulisan best practice dan memberikan perlatihan penulisan best practice. Berdasarkan hasil studi lapangan dan diskusi dengan Kepala Sekolah dan Waka SMPN 2 Sukodono Sidoarjo, mereka masih kesulitan dalam menyusun Penelitian Tindakan Kelas dan memilih aktivitas yang bisa ditulis sebagai Best Practice. Oleh sebab itu, diperlukan perlatihan bagi pendidik dalam pelatihan penulisan best practice dalam bentuk Program Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat. Program Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat tersebut dilaksanakan oleh Tim Program Studi Pendidikan Bahasa Indonesia pada 16 Agustus 2021 sampai dengan 16 September 2021 dengan tema “Optimalisasi Pembudayaan Literasi Sekolah di SMPN 2 Sukodono Sidoarjo” dengan Subtema “Penyusunan Best Practices di Sekolah”, direncanakan selama satu bulan sesuai dengan program Prodi Pendidikan Bahasa Indonesia semester Ganjil Kegiatan PPM yang diselenggrakan oleh Tim Prodi PBI UNIPA Surabaya berjalan dengan baik. Hal tersebut dapat dilihat dari hasil pelatihan yang dilaksanakan bahwa semua peserta dapat menyusun Best Practice. Direncanakan selama 1 bulan sesuai dengan program Prodi Pendidikan Bahasa Indonesia semester Genap UNIPA Surabaya. Kegiatan PPM yang diselenggarakan oleh Tim Prodi PBI UNIPA Surabaya berjalan dengan baik. Hal tersebut dapat dilihat dari hasil perlatihan yang telah dilaksanakan, bahwa semua peserta dapat menyusun Best Practice, serta hampir semua peserta (52 orang) memberikan respon positif terkait dengan pelatihan yang dilaksanakan karena peserta mendapat banyak wawasan Best Practice, melalui pelatihan Best Practice diharapakan dapat digunakan sebagai formula baru untuk merancang penelitian yang lebih efektif serta efisien.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the situation of diglossia in the community in Gili Ketapang village, Suberasih District, Probolinggo Regency. The research design uses a qualitative approach with qualitative descriptive methods. The results of the study generally show that the situation of diglossia in the family realm is influenced by the personality of the speaker. One can use the subtle Madurese language because of two possibilities, namely the social level of the family and the background of the Islamic boarding school. The situation is diglossia in the realm of religion, the people of Gili Ketapang Village are more dominant in using fine variations of the Madurese language and also rough variations to make it easier to understand the meaning conveyed by speakers. In the situation of diglossia in the social sphere, especially in the community of Gili Ketapang Village, it is more dominant to use the Madurese language in subtle variations in various events. In the realm of education and work/profession, the situation of diglossia of language selection used by speakers is smooth Madurese as a polite variety of Madurese and there is also intermingling with Indonesian as the national language.

Abstract

Indonesian internet users (Netizens) are considered uncivilized in using the internet. The Digital Civility Index (DCI) states that the politeness of Indonesian netizens was ranked 29th out of 32 countries and the worst in Southeast Asia. The uncivility of netizens is closely related to the use of emotive language, so it is necessary to study the use of emotive language by netizens. The emotive language of Indonesian netizens in responding to YouTube posts is very interesting to study from a cyberpragmatic perspective. Cyberpragmatic studies are the use of language and communication in a digital environment or in cyberspace. The problems studied in this study are formulated: (1) How is the lingual form of the emotive language of Indonesian netizens realized in responding to YouTube posts in a cyberpramatic perspective? And (2) How is the emotive language function of Indonesian netizens realized in responding to YouTube posts in a cyberpramatic perspective? The purpose of this study is to describe and explain the realization of the form of Indonesian netizen emotive language and the function of netizen emotive language in responding on YouTube posts. This research is a descriptive qualitative research. The research data is in the form of netizens' verbal responses to internet-mediated YouTube posts as a field for cyberpragmatic studies. Data was collected using the Simak Bebas Libat Cakap (SBLC) technique. Data analysis was carried out using descriptive techniques using the interactive model Miles and Huberman (1992) with the stages of data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and verification/drawing conclusions. Based on the results of data analysis, it was concluded that the lingual form of emotive language is stated in utterances in declarative, interrogative, and directive modes, while the function of emotive language is stated in delarative speech acts with the function of stating, informing, confirming, giving advice, and praying; in expressive speech acts with functions of praising, expressing pleasure, expressing pride, thanking, apologizing, satirizing, mocking, and insulting; in imperative speech acts with functions of ordering, prohibiting, inviting, and asking. The conclusion of this study is that the lingual form of emotive language is realized in speech in declarative, interrogative, and directive modes.

Abstract

Literary appreciation learning is an effort to increase competence in the field of literature so that Indonesian Language Education Study Program students have complete provisions as prospective educators to be implemented in school. However, in the process there are learning problems that arise, including low motivation of students in getting to know literary works of poetry and lack of knowledge when students appreciate poetry. For this reason, further research is needed to overcome this problem by learning through the application of the suggestopedia method. The research method used is a qualitative descriptive method, with research subjects being students of the Indonesian Language Education Study Program. Data collection techniques were carried out using documentation techniques for analyzing poetry tasks, while data analysis techniques were carried out using quantitative descriptive techniques. Based on the research, it is known that the application of the suggestopedia method can increase students' competence in appreciating poetry. This can be proven by the average score obtained during the pre-test which the average is 2.5 (the scoring guideline 1-5), while the results during the post-test or after applying the suggestopedia method in student learning obtained an average score 4.

Abstract

Program Pendidikan Profesi Guru (PPG) adalah upaya strategis untuk meningkatkan kompetensi dan profesionalisme guru di Indonesia. Universitas PGRI Adi Buana Surabaya berperan penting dalam pelaksanaan PPG Prajabatan, terutama dalam mengevaluasi kinerja dosen sebagai indikator kualitas pendidikan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi persepsi mahasiswa terhadap kinerja dosen PPG Prajabatan Gelombang II Semester 1 tahun 2023. Metode yang digunakan adalah survei dengan kuesioner untuk mengumpulkan data dari mahasiswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa mahasiswa memiliki persepsi positif terhadap kejelasan penyampaian materi, interaksi dosen-mahasiswa, dan variasi metode pengajaran yang digunakan. Namun, masih ada beberapa area yang memerlukan perbaikan, seperti pemanfaatan teknologi dalam pengajaran. Kesimpulannya, persepsi positif ini mencerminkan kesiapan dosen dalam membimbing mahasiswa menuju profesionalisme, namun tetap diperlukan peningkatan pada aspek-aspek tertentu untuk mengoptimalkan kualitas pembelajaran.
