Abstract

This study aims to examine contemporary Islamic economic thought in supporting the implementation of halal certification based on local wisdom. Halal certification is not only a religious aspect but also an economic strategy to enhance the competitiveness of local products in the global market. This approach integrates Islamic economic principles, such as justice, sustainability, and public welfare, with unique local potentials to ensure the quality of halal products. This research employs a qualitative method with a descriptive-analytical approach, referring to relevant literature and case studies on the implementation of halal certification in various regions of Indonesia. The findings indicate that the implementation of halal certification based on local wisdom not only increases consumer trust but also empowers local communities through the preservation of culture and traditions. Furthermore, collaboration among religious scholars, the government, and business actors is key to achieving an inclusive and sustainable halal certification system. Therefore, this concept can serve as a model for other countries in developing an economy rooted in Islamic values relevant to contemporary challenges.

Abstract

This study examines the characteristics and differences between Makiyah and Madaniah verses in the Qur'an, as well as their implications for interpretation. This classification is essential as it serves as a guide for interpreters to understand the social, cultural, and historical contexts of revelation. The Makiyah verses were generally revealed before the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) migrated to Medina, during a time when Islam faced significant challenges and opposition from the polytheists of Mecca. These verses tend to be brief, concise, and poetic, aiming to capture attention and touch hearts. The primary themes presented include monotheism, faith, and the stories of previous prophets. In contrast, the Madaniah verses were revealed after the migration, when Islam had gained wider acceptance and the need for social, economic, and legal regulations emerged among the Muslims in Medina. These verses are typically longer and provide detailed explanations regarding Islamic laws, interpersonal relationships, and social order. These characteristics reflect the development and maturity of the Muslim community, which required more structured guidance. By identifying these distinctions, this study provides deeper insight into the background of Makiyah and Madaniah verses, helping Qur'anic interpreters apply the contextual background of revelations more accurately in contemporary interpretations. This research employs a literature study method, gathering and analyzing various relevant classical and contemporary interpretative sources.

Abstract

The authenticity of the Qur'an that is preserved cannot be separated from the process of collecting, writing and unifying. This process is called jam' al-Quran, or the process of codifying the Qur'an. Of course, this process has a very important role so that the authenticity of the Qur'an has been maintained for centuries since it was revealed until now. The mushaf of the Qur'an that we have now turned out to have gone through a long and winding journey over a period of more than 1400 years ago and has an interesting historical background to know. Historically, the journey of Qur'an bookkeeping is indeed not as complex as hadith bookkeeping. However, this does not mean that the process of codification of the Qur'an is not interesting to study. In its journey, the Qur'an in the sense of its capacity as a book or a bound sheet of paper and written in it which is considered by Muslims to be the revelation of Allah—the process of codification is no longer normative, but very historical, because it is related to various kinds of discourses/discourses (social, political, and others) that surround it, so that it is always worthy of questioning and discussion anytime, anywhere, and even by anyone. We already know that the Qur'an was revealed gradually. The Prophet received the Qur'an through the angel Gabriel and then he recited and dictated it to the companions who listened to it. The collection of the Qur'an during the time of the Prophet was grouped into two categories, namely: collection in the chest in the form of memorization and appreciation and collection in records in the form of book writing.

Abstract

The backdrop or circumstances that preceded the revelation of a Qur'anic verse are referred to as Asbabun Nuzul. Since it gives the social, political, and cultural background for the Qur'anic verses, understanding this idea is crucial to understanding them. One efficient method for thoroughly exploring and comprehending subjects, particularly those pertaining to the study of concepts like Asbabun Nuzul, is to employ a qualitative research approach employing the library research method. The study's findings demonstrate that both classical and modern academics value the idea of Asbabun Nuzul, which explains the rationale for the Qur'anic verses' revelation. Classical scholars like Ibn Kathir and Al-Tabari stress how crucial it is to comprehend the historical background in order to correctly interpret the scriptures. Sayyid Qutb and Fazlur Rahman, two modern scholars, agree that Asbabun Nuzul is significant, but they also stress that the lessons of the Qur'an are still applicable in today's world. All things considered, Asbabun Nuzul aids in accurately and practically comprehending passages in both historical and modern situations.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the concept of nasikh mansukh and its implications in Islamic law, particularly in the context of halal certification. Using a descriptive qualitative method, the study identifies differing opinions among scholars regarding the definition of nasakh. Some scholars define it as the annulment of the application of previous law, the prevention of the continuation of earlier law, or the expiration of the validity of the initial command. Despite the differing definitions, the impact remains the same: the annulled law is no longer applicable. In the context of halal certification, the concept of nasikh mansukh demonstrates the flexibility of Islamic law, allowing for the adjustment of rules to maintain public benefit, both in terms of fulfilling Sharia principles and addressing modern societal needs. This concept reflects how Islamic law is gradually prescribed to ensure its relevance, public welfare, and societal tranquility are consistently preserved.
