Abstract

This study aims to see the effect of intellectual intelligence and emotional intelligence on employee performance with experience as a moderating variable. This research was conducted at the Public Works Department of Malang City. The type of research used is a quantitative approach research model using data in the form of numbers. The sample used as many as 122 respondents with the technique of taking census research. Two regression tests were carried out; the first was the independent variable test without the moderating variable, the second was carried out on all independent variables and the moderating variable. This study indicates that in the first test simultaneously or partially, all intellectual and emotional intelligence influence employee performance. After being moderated with work experience variables in the second test, intellectual and emotional intelligence variables become insignificant on employee performance. Thus, the moderating variable of work experience is only a moderating predictor variable.

Abstract

Most of the people in Tengkurak Village depend on fishing for their livelihood, as the village is bordered by the Java Sea to the north. They use land for fish ponds in an effort to increase their business resources. However, the lack of capital and inadequate infrastructure in the fisheries business sector has forced fishermen to rely on fish collectors to sell their catch, even though they could do better independently. The purpose of this study is to try to unravel the problems in Tengkurak Village through access to agrarian reform with counseling, Focus Group Discussion (FGD), and developing the ability to innovate and encourage the formation of business groups such as cooperatives as a forum for community potential development, especially for fishermen. The research method used qualitative escriptive analysis with data sources from interviews and observations of fishermen. The results of this study show that there is a form of cooperation and communication patterns between the community and the local government, especially in the formation of cooperatives to develop the results of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) fisheries without relying on collectors. The conclusion of this study is that with good cooperation between the Tengkurak Village community and the local government and related agencies, it is expected that the community will be able to manage SMEs and promote their business results independently, especially fishermen.

Abstract

This study compares the growth of two seaweed species, Kappaphycus striatus and Kappaphycus alvarezii (green variety), using the longline method in the waters of Pelakak Village, Lingga Regency. This research aims to identify differences in daily growth rates and environmental factors affecting the productivity of both seaweed species. The study was conducted over 45 days using a randomized block design with two treatments and four replications. Measured parameters included absolute weight growth, specific growth rate, and water quality. The results showed that K. alvarezii (green variety) exhibited a higher daily growth rate (0.55% weight/day) compared to K. striatus (0.31% weight/day). Environmental factors such as temperature (28–30°C), salinity (30–31 ppt), and pH (7.1–7.4) were within the optimal range, but the current velocity (0.4–0.5 m/s), which exceeded the standard, potentially inhibited growth an increased the risk of talus damage. The t-student test indicated no significant difference in growth between the two seaweed species (p>0.05). These findings suggest that K. alvarezii (green variety) is more adaptive to local environmental conditions than K. striatus, although current velocity and pest presence remain challenges in seaweed cultivation. This study contributes to optimizing seaweed farming strategies in coastal areas. Keywords: Growth; Kappaphycus striatus; Kappaphycus alvarezii Green Variety; Longline
