Abstract

The Indonesian automotive industry, known for its extensive supply chain and high resource consumption, demands operational strategies that promote both efficiency and sustainability. This study explores Sustainable Lean Manufacturing (SLM) as a strategic framework by identifying and prioritizing the Critical Success Factors (CSFs) necessary for its effective implementation. Using a mixed-method approach, the research applied the Delphi technique to gather expert consensus and the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) to rank the identified CSFs. Data were collected through three rounds involving expert panels from various automotive firms with over a decade of experience in lean and sustainability practices. Nineteen CSFs were identified and grouped into six dimensions: Management and Leadership, Human Resources Development, Sustainable Production Process, Environmental Management, Supply Chain Management, and Safety and Well-being. Results show that Management and Leadership is the most influential dimension (51%), with Top Management Commitment ranked as the top CSF (0.2740). The study's methodological novelty lies in combining Delphi and AHP for sector-specific validation, filling the research gap on SLM in Indonesia’s automotive industry. The findings offer a structured decision-making model for practitioners to implement SLM initiatives that align with both operational goals and sustainability regulations. Future research is encouraged to apply this model to other industries and adopt AI-based tools for adaptive strategy development.

Abstract

The automotive manufacturing industry faces increasing challenges in maintaining product quality, operational efficiency, and compliance between Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and actual practices in the production process. Inconsistent implementation of operational standards often leads to defects, rework, process instability, and reduced quality performance. This study aims to analyze the effect of Genba Walk Improvement on SOP-Actual Alignment and Quality Performance in automotive manufacturing companies. The research employed a quantitative approach using survey methods involving 150 respondents consisting of analysts, engineers, section heads, and department heads working in multinational motorcycle manufacturing companies. Data were collected through observations, interviews, literature studies, and online questionnaires. The analysis was conducted using Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) supported by SPSS and SmartPLS 3.0 software. The variables examined included Genba Walk Standardization, Genba Walk Execution, Genba Walk Evaluation, SOP-Actual Alignment, and Quality Performance. The results revealed that all variables had positive and significant relationships. Structured and consistent Genba Walk practices were proven to strengthen SOP compliance, reduce process deviations, minimize defects and rework, and improve production stability and customer satisfaction. The study concludes that Genba Walk functions not only as a field observation activity but also as an effective Lean management and quality control mechanism that supports continuous improvement and sustainable operational excellence in manufacturing industries.

Abstract

Logistics has become increasingly critical in maintaining supply chain stability, particularly in industries such as chemicals where operations involve higher levels of complexity and risk. The disruptions experienced during the COVID-19 pandemic—ranging from transportation delays to cost fluctuations—have not only affected operational performance but also influenced how companies evaluate logistics service providers (LSPs). This study explores how procurement priorities have shifted in response to these changes. By combining the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) and SERVQUAL, the research attempts to capture both what customers consider important and how they perceive actual service performance. The study was conducted at a logistics service provider in Indonesia serving the chemical industry. The findings suggest that assurance, reliability, and responsiveness have become more important than cost in selecting LSPs. However, these same dimensions also show the largest performance gaps. This indicates that, although expectations have changed, service delivery has not fully kept pace. The results highlight the need for logistics providers to adjust their service approach in a more consistent and customer-oriented manner.

Abstract

Indonesia, as the second longest coastline country in the world, contain a huge coastal area need to be managed. One way to manage coastal area is using monitoring systems, yet none of them has been effectively implemented in Indonesia. This research attempts to develop monitoring system using indicators. There were 105 indicators that chosen from references. Each of the indicators were filtered by scoring method and then be processed using PLS-SEM resulting 9 indicators and sustainability development monitoring model. Coastal Area of North Jakarta has been chosen as area to implementing the model since that area are dynamics and growing rapidly. Based on the model, coastal area of North Jakarta has good economic condition (62.2%), medium social condition (46.7%), and bad natural environment condition (38%). Sustainable development seems quite implemented in this area since the balance of Economic-Social-Natural Environment was on the medium and balanced category. By using GIS can be seen that the development that occurred in west side study area are better than middle or east side.
