Abstract

Lecturer productivity is a strategic priority for Islamic Higher Education Institutions (IHEIs), which combine academic excellence with Islamic values and community service while often operating under constraints such as limited digital infrastructure, heavy administrative workloads, and dual religious–academic responsibilities. This study examines how organizational commitment and work-life balance influence lecturer productivity in six IHEIs in Jambi Province, with information technology (IT) tested as a moderating factor. Using a quantitative survey of 237 lecturers and analyzing the data with SEM-PLS, the results show that organizational commitment significantly improves lecturer productivity, whereas work-life balance has a positive but statistically insignificant effect. IT demonstrates a strong direct impact on productivity, but it does not moderate the effects of organizational commitment or work-life balance, suggesting that technology operates primarily as a general performance enabler rather than a conditional amplifier of these individual factors. These findings extend evidence on productivity determinants in the under-studied IHEI context and offer practical implications for policy and management, particularly the need to strengthen digital infrastructure, enhance organizational support systems, and align HR practices with the institutional realities of Islamic higher education.

Abstract

This study examines the impact of leadership style, work motivation, and information technology on lecturer productivity in Islamic Higher Education Institutions (IHEIs) in Jambi Province, Indonesia. Using a quantitative research design, data were collected from 237 lecturers through a structured questionnaire, employing proportional stratified random sampling. The study found that leadership style, work motivation, and information technology have a positive and significant effect on lecturer productivity. Additionally, information technology was found to significantly moderate the relationships between work motivation and lecturer productivity, as well as between leadership style and lecturer productivity. The findings highlight the importance of transformational leadership, a motivated workforce, and robust IT infrastructure in enhancing academic performance in IHEIs. The study contributes to the literature by demonstrating how these factors interact to foster lecturer productivity and provides practical recommendations for improving academic excellence in higher education institutions.

Abstract

The financial performance of national commercial banks and State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange between 2020 and 2024 will be examined and contrasted in this study. Three main criteria are used to assess financial performance: operational efficiency, credit risk, and profitability. Return on Equity (ROE), Return on Assets (ROA), and Net Interest Margin (NIM) are used to evaluate profitability. Non-performing loans (NPLs) serve as a stand-in for credit risk, and the operating expenses to operating income ratio (BOPO) is used to gauge operational effectiveness. The research uses secondary data from audited annual financial statements and takes a quantitative method with a comparative design. Eight banks make up the sample, including four state-owned and four national private banks, for a total of 40 observations. Descriptive statistics, the Shapiro-Wilk normality test, the independent sample t-test, and the Mann-Whitney U test were used to evaluate the data. The results show that, across all examined metrics, state-owned banks and national private banks do not significantly differ in terms of their financial performance. This finding implies that ownership structure is not the main factor influencing banking performance. The study has consequences for bank management and regulators in formulating strategic choices and regulations meant to preserve banking stability and enhance performance. It also lays the groundwork for further studies that will broaden the study by introducing other variables and methodological techniques.

Abstract

Digital transformation requires communities to possess adaptive capabilities, work motivation, and high productivity in responding to social and economic changes. However, many communities are still unable to optimally utilize digital technology due to low work motivation, limited digital literacy, and weak productivity management. This community service program aimed to enhance human resource capacity based on work motivation through the Asset-Based Community Development approach to support community productivity in the digital transformation era. The implementation method employed the ABCD approach through the stages of discovery, dream, design, define, and destiny. The program was conducted through work motivation training, time management training, digital technology utilization training, and productivity development assistance for the community. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, documentation, and participatory evaluation. The results demonstrated an improvement in community work motivation, time management skills, and the utilization of digital media to support productive activities and business development. In addition, the ABCD approach succeeded in increasing community participation and optimizing local assets as sustainable capital for human resource development. This program positively contributed to improving community productivity and strengthening community capacity in facing the challenges of digital transformation independently and sustainably
