Abstract

Oyster mushrooms are one of the types of consumption mushrooms that are in great demand by the public. The demand for mushrooms continues to increase from year to year both from within and outside the country. Currently, oyster mushroom production needs to be increased due to increasing market demand. One way to increase the production of white oyster mushrooms is by giving growth regulators (ZPT) and agricultural lime with the right application time and concentration. This study aims to determine the effect of giving some ZPT and agricultural lime to increase mycelium growth and production of white oyster mushrooms. The research method used was a complete factorial randomized design, consisting of two factors, each factor consisting of 4 levels, and 3 levels. The type of ZPT is the first factor consisting of No ZPT, ZPT Atonik, ZPT Rootmost, and ZPT Dekamon. While the dose of agricultural lime is the second factor consisting of 1% lime (10gr/baglog), 2% lime (20gr/baglog), and 3% lime (30gr/baglog). Parameters observed included pinhead formation time, number of fruits per sample, fruit hood diameter and fruit weight per sample. The observation results were calculated by analyzing variance (F test) at 5% level. If there was a significant difference between treatments, BNT test was conducted at 5% level. The addition of ZPT Atonik and 1% Lime gave the best results from other treatments.

Abstract

Brassica juncea L., sometimes known as mustard greens, are annuals with fibrous roots that extend in all directions from the soil surface without producing a crop. Green mustard is one of the most commonly consumed vegetables and is in great demand by the wider community. The amount of mustard produced is not proportional to the high consumption of this vegetable in Indonesia. Therefore, to support sustainable agriculture, efforts need to be made to increase mustard productivity, including the use of microorganisms such as PGPR and environmentally friendly cultivation techniques. The objective of this study was to determine the effect of different types of PGPR on the development and yield of mustard. A standardized Randomized Group Design (RAK) was used in this study. To determine if there were significant differences, the data from the observations were analyzed using the Fisher test (F test at the 5% and 1% levels). Otherwise, the 5% Least Significant Difference test was used. The best results of PGPR types on the growth and production of green mustard plants were obtained in the treatment of PGPR types of Pseudomonas flurescens sp. bacteria compared to other treatments.

Abstract

The lettuce plant is one of the vegetables that can be eaten raw, as it has a fairly high mineral content. Fertilization provides a very large role to increase the resulting product. Currently, farmers in Indonesia are beginning to understand the importance of organic fertilizers in the cultivation process. This is based on the knowledge that inorganic fertilizers have a negative impact on the environment if used excessively and in the long term. Biofertilizer is an alternative that utilizes certain microorganisms to provide nutrients and help plant growth. The purpose of the study was to determine the response of growth and production of organic lettuce plants to the dosing of liquid biofertilizer. This study applied the Complete Randomized Design method consisting of one factor with seven levels repeated four times. The factor is the dose of liquid biofertilizer including: 0 l/ha, 100 l/ha, 200 l/ha, 300 l/ha, 400 l/ha, 500 l/ha, and 600 l/ha. The parameters observed were plant height, number of leaves, wet weight per sample plant, wet weight per hectare and root length. Data obtained from the observations were calculated using 5% analysis of variance (ANOVA) method. If there is a real effect, it is further tested with the BNT (Least Real Difference) method at the 5% level. The results stated that the observation of lettuce plant growth, the dose of 100 l/ha gave the best results, while in the harvest the dose of 200 l/ha gave the best results compared to other treatments.

Abstract

Cucumber is one of the vines that is usually eaten directly or in processed form. The productivity of this cucumber crop is quite low. Cucumber production can be increased through intensification efforts. Intensification is a step taken to increase agricultural productivity through optimal utilisation of available land with various methods. One of them is the use of bat manure (Guano) fertiliser. Guano fertiliser comes from the process of weathering rocks and bat droppings that occur in natural caves containing nutrients N, P, and K. This research is to determine how effective the dose of Guano fertiliser is in increasing the productivity of organic cucumber. The research used the regular Randomised Group Design (RAK) method involving 7 treatments and 4 replications. The parameters observed were the dose of guano fertiliser, from no guano fertiliser; 2.5 t/ha; 5.0 t/ha; 7.5 t/ha; 10.0 t/ha; 12.5 t/ha; and 15.0 t/ha. Parameters that have been observed include number of leaves, plant height, fruit weight per hectare, fruit weight per plot, and fruit weight per sample plant. The data obtained will be calculated with the F test at 1 and 5% significance levels. If there is a significant difference, the next step is the BNT test at the 5% significance level. The optimal result of bat manure fertiliser dosage on baby cucumber productivity was found when using the highest dose, 15.0 t/ha, compared to other doses.

Abstract

Glucocorticoids play an important role in the treatment of acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL). However, supraphysiological doses may cause suppression of the adrenal. Adrenal suppression resulting in reduced cortisol response may cause an inadequate host defence against infections, which remains a cause of morbidity and mortality in children with ALL. The occurrence of adrenal suppression before and after glucocorticoid therapy for childhood ALL is unclear. The aim of this study is to analysis the effect of glucocorticoid on cortisol levels during induction phase chemotherapy in children with acute lymphoblastic leukemia. A cross-sectional, observational prospective study was conducted to determine the effect of glucocorticoid on cortisol levels in children with acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Patients who met inclusion criteria were given dexamethasone or prednisone therapy for 49 days according to the 2013 Indonesian Chemotherapy ALL Protocol. Cortisol levels were measured on days 0, 14, 28, 42 and 56 of induction phase chemotherapy. There were 24 children, among 31 children recruited, who suffered from acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Before treatment, the means of cortisol levels were 228.95 ng/ml in standard risk group (prednisone) and 199.67 ng/ml in high risk group (dexamethasone). In standard risk group, the adrenal suppression occurs at about day 56. There was a significant decrement of cortisol levels in high risk group in days 14, 28, 42 against days 0 of induction phase (p=0.001). Both groups displayed different peak cortisol levels after 6 week of induction phase (p=0.028). Dexamethasone resulted in lower cortisol levels than prednisone during induction phase chemotherapy in children with acute lymphoblastic leukemia.

Abstract

Thalassemia is a hereditary form of anemia that affects the synthesis of hemoglobin. The management of therapy in patients with b-thalassemia major which patients should receive continuous blood transfusions and increased iron absorption from the digestive tract causes excess iron in the body. This will lead to an increase of free iron level that triggers Radical Oxygen Species (ROS). Increased level of ROS can initiate lipid peroxidation which used as an indicator of oxidative stress in cells and tissues and produce reactive carbonyl, mainly malondialdehyde (MDA). Thus, MDA measurement is widely used as an indicator of lipid peroxidation. On the other hand, the risk of oxidative damage can be reduced by antioxidant, one of them is Vitamin E that is a fat-soluble vitamin with high potential antioxidant. The objective of this study was to analyze the effect of the dl-a-tocopherol (Vitamin E) administration on decrease of MDA serum level on pediatric patients with b-thalassemia major. This was a longitudinal observational study design for one group without comparison was conducted to examine the use of vitamin E to decreased MDA serum level on children patients with b-thalassemia major. The inclusion criteria were patients who rely on blood transfusions, patients who received only one type of iron chelating agents during the study period, the clinical condition is stable, agrees, and has completed the informed consent. In the course of the study of 21 patients there were variations in patient compliance in taking vitamin E tablet dosage 200 IU once-daily for one month: only 11 out of 21 patients consumed 30 tablets of vitamin E 200 IU (total dose of 6000 IU) in the 1-month study, and only data from those 11 samples will be analysed further. MDA serum level was measured pre- and post-administration of vitamin E and patient's characteristics of subjects was obtained for additional information. Pre-administration of vitamin E, serum level of MDA was 1239.4 ± 502.55 ng/mL with a range of 216.95 to 2297.3 ng/mL, whereas in the group post administration of vitamin E, MDA serum level was 786.49 ± 704.88 ng/mL with a range of 6.5380 to 1958.6 ng/mL. In conclusion, there was no significant difference in MDA serum level in the group pre- and post- administration of vitamin E (p = 0.15).

Abstract

Ditemukan rendahnya motivasi belajar siswa kelas IV SD Negeri Pakuniran yang ditunjukkan oleh minimnya partisipasi aktif dan ketidakpedulian terhadap proses pembelajaran. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dengan tujuan untuk meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa kelas IV SD Negeri Pakuniran II dalam mata pelajaran Pendidikan Agama Islam dan Budi Pekerti melalui media pembelajaran Canva. Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) ini dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus, yang masing-masing meliputi tahap perencanaan, tindakan, observasi, dan refleksi, dengan 18 siswa sebagai subjek penelitian. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan Canva dapat meningkatkan motivasi belajar. Pada siklus pertama, 60% siswa menunjukkan peningkatan motivasi. Pada siklus kedua, motivasi siswa meningkat lebih signifikan, dengan 83% siswa menunjukkan keterlibatan yang lebih aktif. Canva sebagai media pembelajaran yang visual dan interaktif membuat siswa lebih kreatif dan memahami materi dengan lebih baik. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa Canva efektif dalam meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa. This study aims to improve the learning motivation of fourth-grade students at SD Negeri Pakuniran II in the subject of Islamic Education and Character Education through the use of Canva as a learning medium. The study background stems from students' low motivation, indicated by limited active participation and disengagement during lessons. This Classroom Action Research (CAR) was conducted in two cycles, each consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection stages, with 18 students as participants. Results show that Canva increased student motivation. In the first cycle, 60% of students demonstrated improved motivation. In the second cycle, this increased to 83%, with students showing more active engagement. Canva’s visual and interactive approach allowed students to learn creatively and enhance their understanding. This research concludes that Canva is an effective tool for boosting student motivation.

Abstract

Stevia rebaudiana leaves are well-known for their intense natural sweetness, derived from steviol glycosides, which are 100-300 times sweeter than sugar. Besides being a natural sweetener, these leaves also hold the potential for various health benefits. This study compares two eco-friendly extraction methods: maceration using a water bath shaker (Dynamic maceration) and ultrasonic-assisted extraction in a water bath utilizing distilled water as the solvent. The objective was to assess their effects on extraction yield and antioxidant activity. Dynamic maceration was conducted at 25°C for 3 hours and 6 hours, yielding 14.2% and 15.5%, respectively, and at 75°C for 3 hours and 6 hours, yielding 18.6% and 16.7%, respectively. Ultrasonic-assisted extraction was carried out at 25°C for 30 minutes and 60 minutes, yielding 12.1% and 15.2%, respectively, and at 75°C for 30 minutes and 60 minutes, yielding 15.0% and 14.6%, respectively. The antioxidant activity of the extracts, assessed using the DPPH method at a concentration of 100 µg/mL, showed a linear trend corresponding to each extraction condition. For dynamic maceration, inhibition percentages were 33.4% (25°C, 3 h), 30.1% (25°C, 6 h), 25.9% (75°C, 3 h), and 16.7% (75°C, 6 h); for ultrasonic-assisted extraction, values were 39.9% (25°C, 30 min), 33.8% (25°C, 60 min), 31.8% (75°C, 30 min), and 27.1% (75°C, 60 min). The highest yield (18.6%) was obtained from dynamic maceration at 75°C for 3 hours, whereas the highest antioxidant activity (39.9%) was observed in ultrasonic-assisted extraction at 25°C for 30 minutes

Abstract

Penggunaan teknologi dalam pendidikan, terutama melalui penggunaan Sumber Daya Pendidikan Terbuka dan Daring (OER), seperti Coursera, telah mengubah cara pembelajaran dan pengajaran ilmu sosial. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengevaluasi seberapa efektif penggunaan Coursera dan platform OER lainnya untuk meningkatkan pemahaman siswa ilmu sosial tentang sejarah dunia. Penelitian ini melibatkan survei dan wawancara dengan siswa dan guru dari beberapa sekolah menengah yang dipilih. Metode campuran digunakan dalam pendekatan ini. Sementara statistik deskriptif digunakan untuk menganalisis data kuantitatif, tanggapan kualitatif dikaji secara tematik. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa 64% siswa mengakses platform OER lainnya dan 72% menggunakan Coursera. Sebagian besar orang yang menjawab mengakui bahwa mereka telah memperoleh pemahaman yang lebih baik tentang materi sejarah. Mereka menyebutkan manfaat utama aksesibilitas, fleksibilitas, dan keberagaman materi tersebut. Namun, sejumlah tantangan juga ditemukan, seperti keterbatasan akses internet dan kurangnya pengetahuan tentang platform. Studi ini menemukan bahwa platform OER dapat membantu pembelajaran inklusif dan individual ketika digunakan dengan benar. Penelitian lebih lanjut diperlukan untuk memprioritaskan dampak jangka panjang dan pendekatan untuk menyelaraskan konten OER global dengan kurikulum nasional.

Abstract

Various conditions after the Head Village Election have a great impact to the development of village itself especially on Village Constulative Body structure. The article highight some problems: (1) What is urgency of Village Council developing method, post Head of Village Election in Kalikayen?; and (2) What is the method of Village Council Development, Post Head of Village Election in Kalikayen? Therefore, there is a method of developing Village Council Post Village Election in order to answer the challenges mentioned above. The purpose of this program is to find out the guidance carried out by the regional government of the Village Council, the Village Council to be able to carry out their duties properly, and submit proposals to the government to pay more attention to the implementation of village government. After the completion of this dedication, the Village Council now understands their duties and functions as well as its role in village development. In addition, the Village Council already has the knowledge and experience in drafting village regulations. Outcomes of our service programs include the publication of a village guidebook module that contains the optimization of the implementation of the Village Law, the management of village funds, the techniques for establishing regulations in the Village. The next output is the draft village regulations and the village head regulations, as well as the activity proposal form and problem priority of each backwoods.
