Abstract

Anxiety about facing menopause generally occurs in women entering their 50s. Women experience anxiety if their beauty fades, and they are afraid of losing their husbands because their sexual desire decreases. This can be overcome by increasing women's knowledge about dealing with menopause through health education, so that they can overcome the worries they experience. This activity is to increase knowledge to reduce anxiety in pre-menopausal mothers through education in Wirogunan Pasuruan Village with a target number of 18 pre-menstrual mothers with an age range of 45 – 55 years. The community service method is carried out in three stages, namely the first stage, namely preparation for attendance, TTV examination and pre test. The second stage is presentation of educational material and videos and the third stage of evaluation ends with giving a post test. The results of community service activities are increased knowledge and decreased anxiety of pre-menopausal mothers. Based on the pre-test results, it was found that 44.4% of mothers had good knowledge about the menopause period and 61.1% of mothers experienced mild anxiety. After being given counseling, there was an increase in knowledge and a decrease in anxiety, as many as 66.7% of mothers had good knowledge and 22.2% of mothers had mild anxiety. There was an increase in knowledge among pre-menopausal mothers, as well as a decrease in mothers experiencing mild anxiety. Anxiety education activities through education for menopausal mothers are useful for reducing anxiety, so it is hoped that menopausal mothers will be able to increase knowledge and reduce anxiety of premenopausal mothers.

Abstract

Tempeh, a traditional Indonesian fermented soybean product, is highly nutritious but under-consumed by children due to its bland appearance and unfamiliar texture. This community service program aimed to enhance elementary school students’ interest in consuming tempeh through a participatory training that introduced character molds into the tempeh-making process. Conducted with 20 students aged 9–11 years, the intervention employed a pretest-posttest design to assess changes in tempeh preferences, knowledge, and willingness to consume and prepare tempeh. Results indicated significant improvements across all indicators: students’ liking of tempeh increased from 35% to 85%, their perception of its visual appeal rose from 25% to 90%, and willingness to try character-shaped tempeh reached 95%. The program not only improved students’ understanding of tempeh’s nutritional benefits but also engaged them in creative, hands-on food preparation that enhanced motivation and enjoyment. The findings support the use of experiential learning and visual food design in child nutrition education. This initiative effectively combined cultural food preservation with innovative teaching strategies. It demonstrates that integrating fun and creativity into traditional food education can promote healthier eating habits and strengthen local food identity among young learners. Future programs should consider scaling up and incorporating family and school-level involvement to achieve a broader and more sustainable impact.

Abstract

In Indonesia, stroke is the leading cause of illness and death among the elderly. Dietary habits, especially fatty food intake, have been identified as changeable risk factors. Nonetheless, there is a scarcity of national data on this relationship among older Indonesian adults. This study sought to investigate the relationship between fatty food intake and stroke occurrence in elderly Indonesians, utilizing data from the 2023 Indonesian Health Survey (Survey Kesehatan Indonesia or SKI). This cross-sectional study was performed using secondary data from SKI 2023, encompassing 97,339 participants aged 60 years and above. The primary outcome was whether a stroke diagnosis was present (yes/no) and the key independent variable was the consumption of fatty foods (yes/no). Additional variables considered were age, gender, education, marital status, employment, residence, and alcohol use. Weighted descriptive statistics, chi-square tests, and binary logistic regression were conducted using STATA 14.1, with sampling weights applied. The stroke prevalence among elderly participants was 3.2%. The bivariate analysis revealed a significant association between fatty food consumption and stroke (p < 0.001). Multivariate logistic regression showed that elderly individuals who avoided fatty foods had a notably reduced risk of stroke (OR = 0.51, 95% CI: 0.45–0.58, p < 0.001). Alcohol consumption also had a protective effect (OR = 0.22, 95% CI: 0.12–0.43, p < 0.001). There is a significant association between fatty food consumption and stroke among the elderly population in Indonesia. Public health strategies encouraging healthier eating habits could potentially lower the stroke risk in this susceptible group

Abstract

Latar Belakang: Kekerasan pada remaja meningkat seiring dengan perkembangan kemampuan remaja dalam bersosialisasi dengan teman sebaya. Penggunaan bahasa yang tidak baik, umpatan, perilaku merusak diri sendiri seperti penggunaan narkoba, alkohol dan seks bebas serta kaburnya persepsi tentang moral yang baik dan buruk, pola asuh orang tua yang tidak mendukung semakin mendukung perilaku kekerasan pada remaja.Tujuan: Tujuan dari PKM (Pengabdaian Kepada Masyarakat) ini adalah memberikan edukasi mengenai kekerasan pada remaja untuk menanamkan nilai-nilai perilaku moral yang baik yang dapat membentuk karakter remaja yang positif.Metode: Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dilaksanakan pada tanggal 23 November 2024 di SMPN 3 Gondang Kabupaten Mojokerto dengan responden sebanyak 30 siswa SMPN 3 Gondang Mojokerto kelas 7 dan 8. Pemberian pendidikan dilakukan dengan metode bemain, ceramah, dan diskusi. Media yang digunakan adalah alat peraga permainan, media informasi Presentasi Power Point, dan leaflet. Instrumen kuesioner tentang kekerasan diberikan sebelum dan sesudah pemberian edukasi, untuk mengetahui tingkat pengetahuan siswa.Hasil: Hasil pengukuran pengetahuan tentang kekerasan sebelum edukasi yaitu sebagian besar remaja memiliki pengetahuan dalam kategori sedang yaitu sebanyak 17 siswa (56,7%). Setelah edukasi, sebagian besar memiliki pengetahuan tentang kekerasan kategori tinggi sebanyak 24 siswa (80%). Remaja yang terlibat dalam perilaku kekerasan, baik sebagai korban maupun pelaku, terbentuk berdasarkan penerapan nilai karakter pendidikan guru di sekolah dan orang tua di rumah secara berkesinambungan. Untuk mengurangi kemungkinan terjadinya kekerasan di kalangan remaja, pendidikan remaja melalui pendekatan bermain sangat diperlukan.

Abstract

Organic waste in the Health Polytechnic Of Kendari has been transported by garbage transport trucks to the Puuwatu TPAS or destroyed by burning. Burning garbage will hurt air quality. This study aims to determine the adequate time needed to produce quality liquid compost from organic waste at the Health Polytechnic Of Kendari and examine the toxicological effects of waste on human health. The results showed that the effective time for producing liquid compost was 36 days with a volume of 2500 mL, and the fastest liquid compost production was 7 days with a volume of 1200 mL. The ideal ratio of C/N composting is 30 : 1. There was a temperature fluctuation within 109 days. The mesophilic phase at the beginning of this study lasted 22 days with a temperature range of 34.5 – 34.9 oC. The second phase is the thermophilic phase, characterized by an increase in temperature, namely up to 40-54.9 oC, which lasts for 36 days. And the maturation stage in this study lasted for 51 days with a temperature range of 44.4 – 32.2 oC. The pH of liquid compost from organic waste has increased, ranging from 2.3 – 4.2. on day 7, the compost turned light brown; from day 44 to day 109, it turned dark brown. Liquid compost production from day 7 to day 85 has a distinctive odour, while liquid compost from day 95 to day 109 has a slight odour. The toxicological effects of organic waste include polluting the environment and disrupting human health, namely respiratory problems, heart problems, cancer, risk of death or premature death.

Abstract

Tekanan darah merupakan salah satu indikator untuk mengetahui kondisi organ vital dalam tubuh manusia. Di era modern ini, remaja sulit dilepaskan dari penggunaan perangkat elektronik tak terkecuali gadget. Penggunaan gadget hampir dimanapun pada kalangan remaja. Remaja yang selalu mengaktifkan telepon genggamnya karena menunggu panggilan atau pemberitahuan dan tidak ingin kehilangan waktu untuk berkomunikasi akan tetap fokus serta merasa cemas dan gelisah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara penggunaan gadget dengan tekanan darah pada mahasiswa Ilmu Keperawatan Tingkat 1 STIKES Dian Husada Mojokerto. Desain penelitian ini menggunakan desain analitik korelasional dengan menggunakan pendekatan Cross Sectional. Metode sampling yang digunakan adalah Total Sampling dengan jumlah 43 mahasiswa tingkat 1 Ilmu Keperawatan Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Kesehatan Dian Husada Mojokerto pada bulan Juni 2020. Data penelitian ini diambil dengan menggunakan kuesioner dan lembar observasi. Setelah ditabulasi data yang ada dianalisis dengan menggunakan uji Rank Spearmen Correlation dengan tingkat kemaknaan 0,05. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan tingkat penggunaan gadget pada mahasiswa yang banyak adalah pada tingkat penggunaan sedang yaitu sebanyak 36 mahasiswa (83,7). Tingkat tekanan darah pada mahasiswa yang paling banyak adalah pada tingkatan normal sebanya 30 mahasiswa (69,8 %). Sedangkan dari hasil pengujian statistik diperoleh hasil ada hubungan penggunaan gadget dan tekanan darah dengan nilai koefisien sebesar 0,354 dengan tingkat signifikansi 0,020 (p <0,05). Melihat hasil penelitian ini maka perlu adanya usaha penurunan penggunaan gadget dengan cara meningkatkan kegiatan sosial kemahasiswaan yang positif sehingga mampu melupakan dan mengurangi keinginan untuk menggunakan gadget agar dapat meminimalkan risiko peningkatan tekanan darah.
