Abstract

This study aims to review the performance parameters and user satisfaction of the implementation of Trans Metro Deli buses, especially the Tembung – Merdeka Field route. This research began by observing and collecting data in the field such as the number of passengers, intermediate time, and travel time and distributing a questionnaire to 100 respondents to find out the perception of passengers and passenger satisfaction with the performance of Trans Metro bus services. The methods used in this study are the Importance Performance Analysis and Customer Satisfaction Index methods. Based on the results of the performance parameter review research, an average load factor of 40.57% was obtained, the average travel time was 56.63 minutes, and the intermediate time was 8.99 minutes. So, the load factor parameters and travel time need to be improved because the values are not in accordance with the standards that have been set. Based on the results of the research from passengers' perception of the performance of Trans Mebidang bus services, what needs to be improved are indicators 11, 21 and 22. And based on the results, the level of passenger satisfaction was obtained by 87.036%, including in the category of very satisfied.

Abstract

Traffic congestion has become one of the main issues faced by the city of Medan, in line with the growth of population and vehicles. The Medan City Government has taken various measures to address this issue through the development of transportation infrastructure, including the construction of underpasses at several strategic points, as well as the introduction of electric buses as an alternative mass transportation. Infrastructure development, such as the underpass on HM Yamin Street, has proven effective in reducing congestion in critical areas. Additionally, the operation of electric buses provides an environmentally friendly solution that can reduce the density of private vehicles and greenhouse gas emissions. This study aims to analyze the efforts of the Medan City Government in improving the transportation system and reducing traffic congestion through infrastructure projects and mass transportation. The results of the study show that these measures have a positive impact on traffic flow and travel time efficiency, although challenges remain related to the increasing volume of vehicles. In the future, the development of a more integrated mass transportation system is necessary to ensure the sustainability and long-term success of these effort.

Abstract

Abstrak: Pencemaran Sungai Deli terlihat dari airnya yang berwarna kecoklatan, sampah-sampah berserakan yang menumpuk, mulai dari pinggir hingga aliran sungai terlihat dari pendangkalannya, terjadi di beberapa titik, 70% pencemaran Sungai Deli disebabkan oleh limbah padat dan cair, limbah domestik, limbah industri, dan di sepanjang Sungai Deli mempengaruhi kualitas air sungai. Menurunnya kualitas air ditandai dengan warna air yang berubah menjadi kecoklatan dan berbau, padahal sebagian masyarakat bantaran sungai masih memanfaatkan air sungai Deli untuk kebutuhan sehari-hari dan aktivitas mencari ikan. Hal ini disebabkan oleh kebiasaan hidup membuang sampah ke sungai. Oleh karena itu, dibutuhkan kesadaran Masyarakat untuk menjaga kebersihan Sungai. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pemahaman dan pengetahuan kepada masyarakat sekitar Sungai Deli Medan dengan membudayakan kesadaran bersih Sungai/susur Sungai. Kegiatan ini telah berjalan efektif atau lancar yang diikuti oleh mitra dan paserta keseluruhan 32 orang dengan persentase peningkatan kesadaran mitra 90%.Abstract: The pollution of the Deli River can be seen from the brownish water, the scattered rubbish that has piled up, from the edge to the river flow, visible from its shallowing, occurs at several points, 70% of the Deli River pollution is caused by solid and liquid waste, domestic waste, industrial waste, and along the Deli River affects river water quality. The decline in water quality is indicated by the color of the water turning brownish and smelly, even though some people along the river still use the Deli river water for their daily needs and fishing activities. This is caused by the habit of throwing rubbish into the river. Therefore, public awareness is needed to keep the river clean. This activity aims to provide understanding and knowledge to the community around the Deli River in Medan by cultivating awareness of clean rivers/rivers. This activity has run effectively or smoothly and was attended by partners and a total of 32 participants with a percentage increase in partner awareness of 90%.

Abstract

The implementation of canal construction with an alternative method is to use Geosynthetic Cementitious Composite Mats (GCCM) which is a relatively new technology in industrial construction consisting of synthetic materials (geosynthetic) and cement concrete (cementitious). The GCCM method offers potential advantages over conventional methods, including faster construction time, lower maintenance costs, lower risk of environmental damage, and more consistent and durable channel quality. This study aims to highlight and compare the effectiveness of conventional methods and Geosynthetic Cementitious Composite Mats (GCCM) methods in canal construction. The results of the study indicate that the GCCM method has advantages in terms of structural strength, erosion resistance, and reduced environmental impacts compared to conventional methods. The results of physical tests show that GCCM significantly increases slope stability by reducing soil stoppage up to eight times compared to conventional methods. Under seepage flow conditions, slopes stabilized with GCCM remain solid without structural failure, while slopes with conventional methods experience total collapse. In terms of cost, although the price of GCCM material is higher, savings in labor and implementation duration make it more economical for large-scale projects. The results of this study can be a reference for practitioners and decision makers in choosing the right canal construction method for national strategic projects

Abstract

Investasi saham melalui mekanisme Initial Public Offering (IPO) kerap menarik minat masyarakat karena potensi keuntungan tinggi dalam waktu singkat. Namun, minimnya literasi keuangan dan kecenderungan mengikuti tren tanpa analisis rasional dapat meningkatkan risiko kerugian. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan edukasi kepada masyarakat mengenai cara membaca peluang saham IPO secara cerdas melalui pendekatan matematika dan analisis fundamental. Peserta dikenalkan pada 11 indikator analisis IPO yang meliputi aspek keuangan, reputasi, valuasi, dan proyeksi risiko. Edukasi dilakukan secara interaktif dan aplikatif agar mudah dipahami masyarakat umum. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa pendekatan matematis mampu meningkatkan pemahaman dan kesadaran masyarakat dalam mengambil keputusan investasi yang lebih rasional dan bijak. Edukasi semacam ini penting untuk mendorong pertumbuhan pasar modal yang sehat dan inklusif.

Abstract

Abstrak: Indonesia merupakan negara yang berada di wilayah Cincin Api Pasifik, sehingga rawan mengalami bencana alam seperti gempa bumi, longsor, letusan gunung berapi, dan tsunami. Bencana ini tidak hanya berdampak secara fisik, tetapi juga psikologis, terutama bagi anak-anak yang rentan mengalami trauma. Trauma yang dialami anak dapat mempengaruhi perkembangan emosional dan sosial mereka dalam jangka panjang. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pendampingan psikososial bagi anak-anak korban bencana banjir bandang dan longsor di Desa Ketawaren, Kabupaten Karo, melalui metode storytelling. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan pada 1-2 November 2024 yang dihadiri 58 Peserta yang terdiri dari anak-anak, orang tua dan mahasiswa UMA. Sistem evaluasi berbentuk kuisioner yang dilakukan pada awal dan akhir kegiatan PKM. Persentase kesadaran masyarakat tentang pemanfaatan limbah pertanian meningkat 39.8%, pada awal evaluasi 30% menjadi 79%. PKM ini telah berjalan efektif atau lancar.Abstract: Indonesia is a country located in the Pacific Ring of Fire, so it is prone to natural disasters such as earthquakes, landslides, volcanic eruptions, and tsunamis. These disasters not only have physical impacts, but also psychological ones, especially for children who are vulnerable to trauma. Trauma experienced by children can affect their emotional and social development in the long term. This community service activity aims to provide psychosocial assistance for children who are victims of flash floods and landslides in Ketawaren Village, Karo Regency, through the storytelling method. This activity was carried out on November 1-2, 2024, which was attended by 58 participants consisting of children, parents and UMA students. The evaluation system is in the form of a questionnaire which is carried out at the beginning and end of the PKM activity. The percentage of public awareness about the use of agricultural waste increased by 39.8%, at the beginning of the evaluation 30% to 79%. This PKM has been running effectively or smoothly.

Abstract

Abstrak: Meningkatnya kesadaran masyarakat akan pentingnya gaya hidup sehat mendorong kebutuhan terhadap bahan alami yang aman dan kaya manfaat. Biji guarana (Paullinia cupana) merupakan salah satu sumber kafein alami yang memiliki keunggulan dibandingkan kopi, yaitu pelepasan kafein yang lebih lambat dan efek stimulan yang lebih stabil. Selain itu, guarana juga mengandung senyawa bioaktif seperti tanin, saponin, dan antioksidan yang bermanfaat untuk kesehatan. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk memberdayakan pelaku usaha mikro home industri dalam mengolah biji guarana menjadi produk minuman dan makanan sehat bernilai jual tinggi. Metode pelaksanaan meliputi studi literatur, Sosialisasi, pelatihan dan Evaluasi kegiatan. Kegiatan pengabdian ini melibatkan 5 mitra pelaku usaha mikro home industri di Kecamatan Ujung Padang, kabupaten Simalungun. Evaluasi dilakukan melalui pre-test dan post-test, observasi langsung terhadap praktik peserta, serta wawancara. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan kemampuan mitra, yaitu peningkatan soft skill sebesar 74% dan hard skill sebesar 87%. Produk guarana mendapat respon positif dari konsumen, terutama saat dikombinasikan dengan bahan lokal seperti jahe dan madu. Pemanfaatan biji guarana tidak hanya meningkatkan pendapatan masyarakat, tetapi juga mendukung kesehatan dan kemandirian pangan lokal.Abstract: Increasing public awareness of the importance of a healthy lifestyle drives the need for safe and beneficial natural ingredients. Guarana seeds (Paullinia cupana) are one source of natural caffeine that has advantages over coffee, namely slower caffeine release and a more stable stimulant effect. In addition, guarana also contains bioactive compounds such as tannins, saponins, and antioxidants that are beneficial for health. This community service activity aims to empower micro home industry entrepreneurs in processing guarana seeds into healthy beverage and food products with high selling value. The implementation method includes literature studies, socialization, training and activity evaluation. This community service activity involved 5 micro home industry business partners in Ujung Padang District, Simalungun Regency. The evaluation was carried out through pre-tests and post-tests, direct observation of participant practices, and interviews. The results of the activity showed an increase in partner capabilities, namely an increase in soft skills by 74% and hard skills by 87%. Guarana products received a positive response from consumers, especially when combined with local ingredients such as ginger and honey. The use of guarana seeds not only increases community income, but also supports local health and food independence.

Abstract

The Sigli - Banda Aceh Toll Road is the first toll road in Aceh province, stretching 74.2 kilometers (km) and consisting of 6 sections. Rock excavation work includes excavation of rock chunks with a volume of 1m3 or more and all rocks or other materials whose excavation requires air pressure tools or drilling, and blasting according to the instructions of the Work Director. This study aims to determine the stages or methods of rock excavation work using the blasting method and to analyze costs based on the Powder Factor (PF) value and the time required to complete the rock excavation work. Based on the results of the study, the stages of rock excavation work using the blasting method begin with the construction of an explosives warehouse, preparation for drilling blast holes, drilling, mobilization of explosives, filling blast holes with explosives (charging), blocking blast holes (stemming), connecting the blasting series (tie up), preparation before blasting, blasting and post-blasting checks. Blasting geometry applied to the rock excavation work in the Sigli – Banda Aceh Toll Road Project Section 1A Sta 15+350 – Sta 15+750 includes the following for the Initial Geometry Plan: Hole Diameter (D) 3.5 inches, Burden (B) 2.5 m, Spacing (S) 3 m, Height of the Stage (H) 6 m, Explosives 30 Kg, and PF 0.67. Geometry Realization: Hole Diameter (D) 3.5 inches, Burden (B) 2.5 m, Spacing (S) 3 m, Height of the Stage (H) 6 m, Explosives 30 Kg, and PF 0.67. Expand Geometry: Hole Diameter (D) 3.5 inches, Burden (B) 3 m, Spacing (S) 3.5 m, Height of the Stage (H) 6 m, Explosives 30 Kg, and PF 0.48. The Powder Factor (PF) value in the blasting geometry design obtained a PF value exceeding 0.3 kg/m3 which means it is not economical, the economical PF value ranges from 0.20 - 0.30 kg/m3. Economical Geometry Design is obtained by "trial and error" or rule of thumb according to the limits of ICI Explosives with the results: Hole Diameter (D) 3.5 inches, Burden (B) 3.5 m, Spacing (S) 5 m, Height of Tier (H) 6 m, Explosives 30 Kg, and PF 0.29. The time required to complete the rock excavation work on the Sigli - Banda Aceh Toll Road Project Section 1a Sta 15 + 350 - Sta 15 + 750 with the initial planned geometry design takes 3.77 months at a cost of Rp. 40,336,928,850.00 while with an efficient geometric design it takes 1.62 months with a cost of Rp. 39,678,466,850.00.

Abstract

Abstrak: Manusia setiap hari menghasilkan sampah, dan potensi limbah serta biomassa dapat ditemukan di mana saja. Sistem pengelolaan limbah yang kurang efektif dan efisien akan menyebabkan penumpukan limbah di tempat pembuangan akhir. Timbunan besar limbah dapat menimbulkan gas yang berisiko bagi kesehatan manusia dan lingkungan. Dengan melakukan sosialisasi pengolahaan sampah rumah tangga dengan menggunakan digester sederhana, diharapkan dapat meningkatkan pengurangan sampah rumah tangga merupakan tujuan kegiatan ini sehingga meningkatkan pengetahuan peserta mengenai pengelolaan limbah keluarga dan proses pembuatan digester biogas sederhana serta mengurangi ketergantungan masyarakat pada sumber energi yang tidak terbarukan adalah dengan mengembangkan bioenergi, seperti biogas. Kegiatan ini dihadiri 20 peserta yang terdiri dari masyarakat desa Terjun dan mahasiswa UMA. Sistem evaluasi berbentuk kuisioner untuk menunjukkan tingkat ketercapaian kegiatan ini. Persentase tingat kepuasan yang diperoleh yaitu 1,67% (Sangat tidak puas), 7,78% (Tidak puas), 3,89% (Netral), 54,44% (Puas) dan 32,22% (Sangat Puas). Kegiatan ini telah berjalan efektif atau lancar.Abstract: Humans produce waste every day, and potential waste and biomass can be found anywhere. A waste management system that is less effective and efficient will cause waste to accumulate in final disposal sites. Large piles of waste can produce gases that pose risks to human health and the environment. By socializing the processing of household waste using a simple digester, it is hoped that it can increase the reduction of household waste, which is the aim of this activity, thereby increasing participants' knowledge regarding family waste management and the process of making a simple biogas digester as well as reducing community dependence on non-renewable energy sources by developing bioenergy, such as biogas. This activity was attended by 20 participants consisting of the Terjun village community and UMA students. The evaluation system takes the form of a questionnaire to show the level of achievement of this activity. The percentage levels of satisfaction obtained were 1.67% (Very dissatisfied), 7.78% (Dissatisfied), 3.89% (Neutral), 54.44% (Satisfied) and 32.22% (Very Satisfied). This activity has run effectively or smoothly.
