Abstract

Koi fish farming is growing because of the stable selling value and the number of fans. One area that is geographically suitable for developing Koi fish farming is Blitar. The production of Koi fish produced by cultivators in Blitar is known to have quality that is not inferior to Koi from other countries so that consumers are spread all over the world. This disease is thought to originate from the decline in environmental quality that is not handled properly, causing a decrease in the Koi fish's immune system. The purpose of this activity is to provide education and assistance on efforts to prevent mortality that occurs in Koi fish through the provision of natural immunostimulants and water quality control using internet-based tools to Koi fish farmers in Blitar. the use of materials and tools as well as the provision of immunostimulant materials and internet-based water quality detectors.

Abstract

The increasing number of Koi ornamental fish interested around the world, this fish farming business is increasingly developing. Blitar is one of the geographically suitable areas to develop Koi fish farming. The resulting production has a quality  of Koi better than from other countries. Cultivation models and techniques developed are also increasingly advanced, but often cultivators have disease problems stemming from decreasing environmental quality that are not handled early. This attracted the Brawijaya University  Doctoral community service team to help find solutions to these problems.

Abstract

Apart from being a tourist destination, Ranu Klakah,  is also used as a fishing business location for capture and aquaculture. Local people use it as a place for fish farming using the floating net cage (KJA) method which has quite a large potential. Currently problems faced by floating net cage fish farmers in Ranu Klakah is the unavailability of adequate fishery facilities and infrastructure, both fisheries and aquaculture, the low application of fishery technology in the field of aquaculture and marketing of fishery products and the low quality of human resources for fisheries sector business. These solutions, aimed to improve community knowledge about best management practice of aquaculture using floating net-cage system, increasing community knowledge about digital product marketing and improving the quality and quantity of fish production in floating net cage systems in Ranu Klakah to attract consumers with wider coverage area and high time flexibility.

Abstract

Ranu Klakah, a volcanic lake in East Java, is explored as a site for tilapia cultivation. Upwelling, the process of nutrient-rich deep water rising to the surface due to wind-induced currents, is examined for its effects on water quality and fish productivity. The activity focuses on the impact of upwelling on tilapia, including reduced water quality, scarcity of natural fish food, physiological stress, disease susceptibility, and decreased fish production. To address the challenges posed by upwelling, it suggests processing tilapia into value-added products, like fish nuggets and skin chips, to enhance market value. Community service activities involving training for making these processed fish products are described, aiming to empower women in the fish farming sector and improve family income. We conclude with insights into the potential benefits of these activities and their positive impact on the local community
