Abstract

Elevated temperatures are often resulting a problem of thermal comfort in hot humid climates, especially in urban areas that have high building densities. The lack of variety of window opening elements in utilizing natural ventilation often occurs in residential areas. This study aims to determine the combination of window opening elements and shading elements that can increase airspeed. This experimental research used CFD computer software to help simulate airflow. The results of this study found that the best combination is the use of sliding windows with 0.5m shading elements attached to the façade. However, the increase in airspeed in the room still does not meet the minimum speed standards based on the microclimate requirements. Keywords: Simulation; Facade; Openings; Shading; Airspeed.

Abstract

Pait Village, located in Kasembon Sub-district of Malang Regency, is a village with high natural tourism potential. However, the allure of tourism in Pait Village, which is located in a green area and surrounded by rivers and waterfalls, still lacks development. Carrying the main mission to increase the tourism potential in Pait Village, the community service team will develop a water tourism design in the form of a multifunctional fishpond. This fishpond will solve the problem of water surplus due to agricultural land runoff. In addition, this pond can be an alternative source of animal protein for residents and an integrated water tourism location in the Kasembon Area. The implementation method carried out in this program is to analyze the needs of the Pait village integrated Master Plan design with a community participatory model. The results of the Pait Village water tourism master plan design are in the form of a 3D mockup of water tourism and a cultivation pond that can be used as an amphitheater along with the regional expenditure budget plan (RAB).

Abstract

The green building criteria of GBCI are an effort to maintain environmental stability. The concept of being environmentally friendly is applied by schools in the form of the PBLHS (Care and Culture for the Environment in Schools) program. The adiwiyata school used as the object of research is SDN Bareng 3. Green building assessment focuses on energy and water conservation, which are relevant for green building and the PBLHS program. This study aims to determine the percentage of energy and water conservation implementation in SDN Bareng 3, and compile recommendations to improve the application of green building according to the study aspect. The research method is descriptive quantitative guided by GREENSHIP Existing Building Version 1.1. The results shows that SDN Bareng 3 obtained a percentage of energy conservation application of 52.78%, and 15% for water conservation. The recommendations are to make energy and water efficient SOPs, make energy displays, use alternative energy, conduct laboratory tests on water quality, have a water recycling system, and use auto stop faucets

Abstract

Egress time in stadiums and sports buildings is one of the important things to consider in providing safety and tranquility for the audience in the building. The purpose of accessibility systems and adequate evacuation circulation planning in sports buildings is to provide evacuation routes that are easily accessible to spectators and minimize crowds and accumulation of people at the exit. This study aims to determine the most effective evacuation time at the Brawijaya Stadium and GOR Jayabaya in Kediri and the difference in the evacuation of spectators in a fire situation in open and closed buildings. This research uses simulation experimental research methods using Pathfinder and Pyrosim applications to find the most effective evacuation time in each building. The final results show that the addition of a radial gangway, the addition of exit doors, and the improvement of circulation flow effectively reduce the length of evacuation time in both buildings. At the Brawijaya Stadium, the evacuation time was 6 minutes and 59 seconds. GOR Jayabaya requires an evacuation time of 6 minutes and 56 seconds. In addition, there are differences in the distribution of smoke and fire in open and closed buildings. Keywords: Egress Time; Evacuation Time; Evacuation Circulation.

Abstract

Purpose of the study: This study aims to determine the relationship between time management so that motivation and learning achievement of vocational students can increase. Methodology: This research uses descriptive analysis The research was held at Malang 6 Vocational High School with a population of class XII DPIB totaling 64 people and samples were taken from the entire population. Data collection using questionnaire distribution. This instrument adopts previous research with validity and reliability values that have fulfilled the criteria. Main Findings: The results of descriptive analysis of time management get an average score of 29.02 or if the percentage is equal to 72.55% and has a meaning in the level of variable development, which is at a fairly high level. The effect of time management has an r square of 4.6%, although the variable is weak against the variables of motivation and learning achievement of vocational students but still has a positive effect. Novelty/Originality of this study: This study is to determine if time management has an effect on increasing the motivation and achievement of vocational students. The impact of this research is as a reference for future researchers to conduct research further. Then this research has an impact on schools and related agencies regarding time management arrangements in schools.

Abstract

Gempa bumi menjadi salah satu bencana yang sering terjadi di Indonesia, tidak terkecuali di Jawa Timur. Bencana ini juga biasa menimbulkan dampak yang serius, mulai kerusakan bangunan hingga korban jiwa. Oleh karena itu, perlu adanya upaya untuk meminimalisasi adanya dampak tersebut dengan upaya mitigasi di lingkungan sekolah dasar (SD). Namun, terdapat beberapa SD yang belum memiliki fasilitas mitigasi gempa bumi. Tujuan dari pelaksanaan pengabdian ini yaitu untuk menambah pengetahuan mengenai literasi mitigasi gempa bumi dengan melakukan sosialisasi, simulasi, dan pemasangan rambu-rambu evakuasi. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan ini dimulai dengan menganalisis kebutuhan, dilanjutkan dengan perencanaan desain pra kegiatan, pelaksanaan kegiatan, hingga pasca kegiatan pengabdian. Pengabdian ini dilaksanakan pada hari Jum’at, 30 September 2022 di SD Negeri 4 Kedoyo dan diikuti oleh 15 peserta dari kalangan siswa kelas IV hingga VI. Pelaksanaan kegiatan dimulai dengan persiapan ruangan, pemasangan fasilitas mitigasi gempa bumi yang dilanjutkan dengan pengisian kuesioner pretest. Setelah itu, pelaksanaan sosialisasi materi mitigasi gempa bumi, permainan kartu, dan simulasi evakuasi saat dan pasca terjadi gempa bumi. Kegiatan diakhiri dengan pengisian kuesioner post-test dan foto bersama. Hasil evaluasi pengisian kuesioner didapatkan terjadi peningkatan pengetahuan dan pemahaman peserta mengenai mitigasi gempa bumi sebesar 40,67 persen untuk indikator penguasaan materi kegempabumian dan 36,67 persen untuk indikator simulasi evakuasi saat dan pasca terjadi gempa bumi para peserta.

Abstract

Abstrak : Kenyamanan pencahayaan berhubungan dengan intensitas cahaya yang sesuai dengan Standar Nasional Indonesia (SNI), yaitu 500 lux. Penelitian oleh Etty Kurniawati pada 2012 menunjukkan bahwa seluruh laboratorium Teknik Sipil Universitas Negeri Malang, termasuk Laboratorium Struktur D19 R. 101, Laboratorium Perkerasan Jalan D19 R. 106, Laboratorium Pengujian Bahan D19 R. 101, dan Laboratorium Hidrolika B9 R. 206, belum memenuhi standar ini karena intensitas cahayanya masih di bawah 500 lux. Untuk mencapai standar tersebut, dilakukan pemodelan desain ulang tata pencahayaan menggunakan perangkat lunak DIALux evo 11. Langkah pertama adalah mengubah warna material dinding menjadi traffic white dengan reflection factor 88 persen. Jika intensitas masih belum mencapai 500 lux, spesifikasi lampu ditingkatkan menjadi Philips 2X TL-D58W. Jika masih kurang, dilakukan penataan dan penambahan jumlah titik lampu. Hasilnya, Lab. Struktur mencapai 505 lux dengan penambahan 5 titik lampu baru. Lab. Perkerasan Jalan mencapai 512 lux dengan penambahan 3 titik lampu baru. Lab. Pengujian Bahan mencapai 503 lux dengan penambahan 7 titik lampu baru. Lab. Hidrolika mencapai 505 lux dengan penambahan 2 titik lampu baru. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa kenyamanan pencahayaan di laboratorium Teknik Sipil UM telah tercapai, karena semua laboratorium kini memiliki tingkat intensitas pencahayaan yang sesuai dengan ketentuan SNI, yaitu 500 lux.

Abstract

Rapid urban development has a negative side because development does not pay attention to the carrying capacity of the environment. Land that should function as protected areas and green open spaces is decreasing, thus impacting water catchment areas. Soekarno Hatta-Borobudur Street is one of the annual surface runoff puddles in Malang City up to 20 cm high for almost 40 minutes. This is due to the inability of existing channels to withstand rain discharge and the lack of water catchment areas. The purpose of this study is to overcome the problem of puddles by utilizing alternative solutions of eco-drainage biopore infiltration holes (BIH) and infiltration wells so that rainwater runoff from buildings does not directly flow into drainage channels. The results of the analysis of planned rainfall for a 10-year return period obtained a rainfall intensity of 126.986 mm. There are 22 channels that are unable to accommodate excess flow discharge. It is known that the number of each alternative needed to overcome this problem is 57,060 LRBs and 429 infiltration wells.

Abstract

Bata ringan atau Autoclaved Aerated Concrete (AAC) merupakan bahan material pengisi dinding yang saat ini sering digunakan. Pemilihan bata ringan sebagai penyusun dinding bangunan karena memiliki bentuk yang seragam, beratnya yang ringan, dan dapat mempercepat kinerja pekerjaan dinding. Pemasangan bata ringan pada umumnya menggunakan mortar dengan lapisan tipis atau dapat disebut sebagai thin bed mortar. Meskipun dinding bukan termasuk bagian struktural pada bangunan, perlu adanya penelitian mengenai kekuatan pasangan bata ringan. Hal tersebut bertujuan untuk meminimalisir keruntuhan dinding bangunan akibat gaya lateral saat terjadi gempa. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk menciptakan komposisi baru thin bed mortar berbasis semen dengan penambahan polivinil asetat (PVAc) atau dapat disebut sebagai thin bed mortar inovasi (TBMI) untuk meningkatkan nilai kuat tekan dan kuat tarik belah pasangan bata ringan. Penggunaan PVAc pada TBMI diharapkan dapat meningkatkan kekuatan dan keamanan dinding bata ringan dan dapat menjadi alternatif dari penggunaan mortar instan. Penelitian ini dilakukan dalam lingkungan eksperimental dan mengikuti prosedur pengujian sesuai ASTM dan SNI. Hasil penelitian yang diperoleh yaitu TBMI dengan substitusi 15% PVAc terhadap berat semen mampu memberikan nilai kuat tekan pasangan bata ringan sama besar dengan mortar instan dan kuat tarik belah sebesar 23% lebih besar daripada mortar instan.

Abstract

The emergence of global warming due to the increase in the amount of carbon emissions and greenhouse gas emissions is caused by one of the activities of the construction industry sector. Green building is one of the solutions that can help reduce energy consumption in buildings and carbon emissions in the building life cycle. Double Skin Façade (DSF) is one of the green building strategies that can be applied to new and existing buildings. This study aims to determine the type of DSF used in the field and how DSF can affect the energy consumption of buildings. This research uses a narrative review method that focuses on the application of the DSF strategy, how the mechanism works on the type of DSF used. The results show that the use of DSF is able to reduce HVAC energy loads in buildings in various types of climates. Stack effect as a key capability of DSF is able to create airflow in the air gap so as to stimulate air movement which in turn can reduce the use of HVAC in buildings. This shows that the DSF strategy is one of the green building strategies that has great potential to be developed in the future.
