Abstract

This research aims to find out what factors influence the chemistry learning process at the Senior High School of 8 Mataram. The type of research used is descriptive qualitative, with the subjects 28 students of class XI MIA 6, 26 students of XII MIA 3, and 2 chemistry teachers. Data were collected using interview techniques with a validated interview guide sheet then worked interactively and carried out continuously until complete and clear where data analysis activities include data reduction, data presentation and conclusions/verification. Data validity was carried out by triangulating sources and time. The results showed that the factors that influence the chemistry learning process are the factors of teachers, students, learning facilities and infrastructure, and the social environment of students at school. There are 2 inhibiting factors that affect the chemistry learning process, namely student factors and learning facilities and infrastructure factors. Student factors that influence the chemistry learning process are readiness, interest and intelligence/ability of students to understand during the learning process. While the learning facilities and infrastructure factor is in the availability of laboratory tools and materials that are not complete and adequate. Teacher factors and the social environment of students at school are not an inhibiting factor that affects the chemistry learning process, because teachers have worked optimally, optimally and professionally in conducting learning. While the social environment of students at school shows a harmonious relationship between students and teachers, students with other students, and students with the school environment both inside and outside the classroom with cool and comfortable school environment conditions.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa kelas XI IPA SMAN 1 Gunungsari pada pelajaran termokimia. Jenis penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kuantitatif. Sampel yang digunakan sebanyak 113 siswa kelas XI IPA 1 – XI IPA 4. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan instrumen tes berbentuk soal kemampuan berpikir kritis sebanyak 16 soal valid dengan reliabilitas sebesar 0,55 (kategori sedang). Hasil analisis deskriptif menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa sebagian besar (50%) termasuk kategori sedang (nilai 42 -58). Pada kelas XI IPA 3 memperoleh nilai paling tinggi sebesar 69% dengan kategori tinggi, kelas XI IPA 2 memperoleh nilai tertinggi kedua sebesar 80% dengan kategori sedang, kelas XI IPA 4 memperoleh nilai tertinggi ketiga sebesar 73% dengan kategori sedang, dan kelas XI IPA 1 diperoleh nilai paling rendah sebesar 54% dengan kategori sangat rendah. Hasil analisis kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa pada setiap indikator menunjukkan bahwa indikator merumuskan masalah, memberikan argumen, melakukan deduksi, melakukan induksi, melakukan evaluasi, dan menentukan keputusan pada kategori sedang (Nilai 42 – 54) sedangkan indikator melakukan tindakan pada kategori rendah (Nilai 41) .

Abstract

This study aims to examine the impact of project-based learning supported by comic media on students' chemical science process skills in the experimental class XI MIPA at SMAN 1 Lembar, focusing on reaction rate material. The measured science process skills include observing, hypothesizing, planning experiments, using tools and materials, classifying, and communicating. Project-based learning is a method that emphasizes problem-centred instruction, problem-solving, decision-making, and collaborative opportunities for students. This quasi-experimental research employed a pretest-posttest control group design. From a population of 130 students, 62 samples were selected using a one-stage cluster sampling technique and divided into an experimental group (XI MIPA 1) and a control group (XI MIPA 2). Data analysis using N-Gain calculations revealed that the experimental class experienced a medium-level improvement (0.335), significantly higher than the control class's low-level improvement (0.011). Furthermore, the statistical analysis showed that tcount (3.15) exceeded ttable (1.671) at a 5% significance level, indicating that the use of project-based learning supported by comic media had a significant influence. The study concluded that while there was no significant difference between the pretest and posttest results of the two classes, project-based learning with comic media significantly enhanced the chemical science process skills of students in the experimental class compared to those in the control class, particularly for reaction rate material.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine how the utilization of PhET multimedia virtual laboratory in interactive teaching materials impacts the acquisition of acid-base chemistry knowledge among grade XI students. This research was conducted through a pre-experimental design consisting of pre-test and post-test one group measurements. All students of class XI MIPA SMAN 1 Alas Sumbawa Besar constituted the population, while purposive sampling was conducted on class XI MIPA 3 consisting of 34 four students. Data collection instruments such as questions during the pre-test and post-test as well as survey sheets were valid and reliable for the purpose of data assessment. Both multiple choice questions and description questions have a high level of reliability, with values of 0.65 and 0.63 respectively. In addition, the average value of the Aiken V index for validity was found to be at the valid category level of 0.66. The questionnaire instrument used has a high level of reliability and validity with a value of 0.77 and high validity with the average value of the Aiken V index which is in the very valid category range with a value of 0.84. Data analysis techniques such as the N-gain test, normality test, and t-test were used to measure student learning outcomes, while reactions were assessed using the student interest test and resulted in an overall average N-gain value equivalent to a higher value scale. The pre-test significance (sig) value of 0.621 > 0.05 and the post-test value of 0.063 > 0.05 indicated that the pre-test and post-test data values were normally distributed, in accordance with the normality test results. The t-test resulted in a significance level of 0.000 < 0.05 (2-tailed). On the other hand, 74% of students' responses to the use of the materials fell into the interested group. The research findings show that the interest and learning outcomes of chemistry class XI IPA students of SMAN 1 Alas Sumbawa Besar are positively influenced by interactive learning materials based on virtual multimedia PhET lab on acid-base materials.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the form of learning difficulties and describe the factors that cause learning difficulties of grade XII students of SMAN 1 Masbagik on acid-base material. The research method used was qualitative descriptive with a population of 102 students from classes XII F3, XII F4, and XII F5. The research sample was taken using a saturated sampling method, and data was collected through test questions and questionnaires. The results showed that; 1) The level of difficulty of learning acid-base students in mastery of concepts by 58% in the category is quite difficult, linking relationships between concepts by 67% in the difficult category and applying formulas for solving problems by 80% in the difficult category. 2) The level of learning difficulty of students due to internal factors is mostly (47%) in the very low category. The level of student learning difficulty is due to the aspect of interest with the highest percentage of 70% in the low category, because the motivation aspect with the highest percentage of 53% in the category is quite high, and because the health aspect with the highest percentage of 56% in the category is very low. 3) The level of learning difficulty of students due to external factors is mostly (70%) in the low category. The level of learning difficulty of students is due to the school aspect with the highest percentage of 51% in the low category, because of the material aspect with the highest percentage of 56% in the low category, because of the family aspect with the highest percentage of 48% in the low category, and because of the community aspect with the highest percentage of 43% in the very high category.

Abstract

This research aims to develop guided inquiry-based LKPD and critical thinking instruments in acid-base chemistry lessons that are valid and practical. The research uses the R&D (Research and Development) method, a 4D development model which is carried out in only three stages (3D), namely Define, Design, and Develop. The results of the validity test using the Aiken's V index obtained a V value for the LKPD of 0.81 and for the instrument of 0.82, which shows that the LKPD based on guided inquiry and critical thinking instruments on acid-base material are very valid to use. The results of the practicality assessment of the LKPD and instruments showed that the average percentage of the LKPD was 88% and the instrument was 81%, which means that the LKPD based on guided inquiry and critical thinking instruments on acid-base material were very practical to use.Based on these data, it can be concluded that the guided inquiry-based LKPD and critical thinking instruments developed can be used in chemistry learning on acid-base material.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kondisi dan pengelolaan laboratorium kimia serta pelaksanaan praktikum kimia di SMA Negeri MA di Lombok Timur tahun ajaran 2023/2024. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kuantitatif dengan pengumpulan data melalui angket dan wawancara yang melibatkan guru kimia, kepala laboratorium, asisten laboratorium, dan siswa. Data penelitian dianalisis menggunakan teknik deskriptif kuantitatif dalam bentuk persentase. Interpretasi data menggunakan 5 kriteria (sangat baik, baik, cukup, kurang, sangat kurang). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pelaksanaan praktikum kimia di MAN 1 Lombok Timur dan MAN 2 Lombok Timur berada pada kategori “Sangat Baik”, sedangkan di MAN IC Lombok Timur berada pada kategori “Baik”. Pengelolaan laboratorium di ketiga sekolah tersebut berada pada kategori “Sangat Baik” dengan total nilai rata-rata sebesar 92,42%. Namun, kelengkapan laboratorium di MAN IC masih kurang memadai dan berada pada kategori “Cukup”. Hasil wawancara menunjukkan bahwa kendala utama dalam pengelolaan laboratorium antara lain keterbatasan peralatan dan sumber daya manusia, khususnya asisten laboratorium. Meskipun terdapat beberapa kendala, namun pelaksanaan praktikum dan manajemen laboratorium di SMA MA Negeri Lombok Timur secara umum sudah berjalan dengan baik.

Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kuantitatif yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui persepsi mahasiswa terhadap keefektifan media pembelajaran simulasi virtual reality (VR) pada praktikum senyawa organik monofungsi dalam pembuatan asam pikrat. Subjek penelitian adalah mahasiswa semester genap tahun akademik 2023/2024 program studi Pendidikan Kimia, FKIP Universitas Mataram, dengan teknik pengambilan sampel menggunaan non-probability sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunaan kuisioner persepsi mahasiswa terhadap keefektifan penggunaan media simulasi virtual reallity (VR) pada pratikum senyawa organik monofungsi dalam pembuatan asam pikrat ditinjau dari pemahaman materi praktikum, pelaksanaan percobaan secara simulasi virtual, keamanan dalam melakukan praktikum, dan kepratisan media pembelajaran virtual. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diperoleh simpulan bahwa penggunaan media simulasi virtual reality (VR) dengan gerakan tangan dalam pratikum senyawa organik monofungsi efektif. Keefektifan media simulasi virtual reality (VR) berdasarkan kuesioner persepsi mahasiswa pada aspek pemahaman materi pratikum, pelaksanaan percobaan secara simulasi virtual (VR), keamanan dalam melakukan pratikum, dan kepratisan media pembelajaran virtual diperoleh persentase masing-masing 83%, 98%, 97% dan 81%.

Abstract

Tujuan  kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini adalah untuk memberikan pemahaman bagi guru tentang Lesson Study for Learning Community (LSLC) sebagai upaya untuk meningkatkan mutu pembelajaran IPA di SMP Kota Mataram. Kegiatan ini telah dilaksanakan pada tanggal 15 Februari 2020 bertempat di SMP Negeri 20 Mataram. Peserta kegiatan sosialisasi LSLC ini terdiri atas seluruh guru di SMP Negeri 20 Mataram serta guru-guru IPA dari SMP Negeri 5 Mataram. Materi tentang LSLC yang diberikan oleh Tim kepada peserta terdiri dari 4 hal yaitu: (1) Tahapan Kolaboratif dalam LSLC; (2) Chapter and Lesson Design; (3) Teknik Observasi Saat Pembelajaran; (4) Teknik Refleksi. Setelah semua materi disampaikan oleh Tim, kegiatan dilanjutkan dengan tanya jawab tentang hal-hal yang belum dimengerti oleh peserta. Kegiatan sosialisasi ini telah memberikan pemahaman bagi guru tentang Lesson Study for Learning Community (LSLC) sebagai upaya untuk meningkatkan mutu pembelajaran IPA. Kegiatan sosialisasi ini akan dilanjutkan dengan Pendampingan Praktik Lesson Study for Learning Community (LSLC) berbasis Zonasi bagi Guru-Guru IPA SMP di Kota Mataram.
