Abstract

Applications of microcantilevers as biosensors have been explored by many researchers for the applications in medicine, biological, chemistry, and environmental monitoring. This research discusses a design of measurement method and simuations for piezoresistive microcantilever as a biosensor, which consist of designing Wheatstone bridge circuit as object detector, simulation of resonance frequency shift based on Euler Bernoulli Beam equation, and microcantilever vibration simulation using COMSOL Multiphysics 3.5. The piezoresistive microcantilever used here is Seiko Instrument Technology (Japan) product with length of 110 μm, width of 50 μm, and thickness of 1 μm. Microcantilever mass is 12.815 ng, including the mass receptor. The sample object in this research is bacteria EColi. One bacteria mass is assumed to 0.3 pg. Simulation results show that the mass of one bacterium will cause the deflection of 0,03053 nm and resonance frequency value of 118,90 kHz. Moreover, four bacterium will cause the deflection of 0,03054 nm and resonance frequency value of 118,68 kHz. These datas indicate that the increasing of the bacteria mass increases the deflection value and reduces the value of resonance frequency. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v10i6.1180

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has spread and has an impact on the fabric of life in all corners of the world and aspects of people's lives. No exception places of worship, especially mosques. The cleanliness of the carpet or floor is a must so that the worship process in the mosque is safe and comfortable. The cleaning process is usually carried out by mosque staff using a vacuum and sprayed with disinfectant/perfume. To assist and simplify the work of the cleaning staff, a 3 in 1 Semi-Automatic Carpet Cleaning Tool was designed (Dust Vacuum, Disinfectant Spray/Deodorizer and Dryer). This tool works automatically to clean dust, spray disinfectant/perfume and dry it according to the area of ??the mosque. This tool uses ultrasonic sensors to detect the state of the surrounding room. The L298N driver functions to control the speed and rotation of the DC motor so that the wheels can move straight based on the controller program using Arduino Uno, so that the robot moves straight and constant without hitting the wall. From the test results of the tool, it is found that the robot can suck dust, spray perfume/disinfectant and dry it with a robot speed of ± 10 meters/minute in a straight line with a carpet thickness of 0.5 cm.

Abstract

In the industrial technology of cassava processing in Bangka Belitung, for now the level of productivity and efficiency of its performance can be said to be still minimal. This is because there is no supporting technology to measure the value of sweet potato starch levels digitally and efficiently. In this final project, a tool is designed to measure the starch content of cassava digitally based on SMS using the method specify gravity. The way this tool works is by measuring the mass of cassava in the air and in water using a driving medium in the form of a DC motor gearbox to raise and lower the cassava. Meanwhile, the sensor loadcell  and HX711 are used for converting analog to digital data. The percentage of error obtained between the comparison of the weight value read on the sensor and the digital hanging scale is 0.282% and the result of the measuring instrument is able to measure starch content with a capacity of    with an error of 2.45%. The measurement data can be sent via the SMS feature using the SIM800L V2 module with an average delivery speed of 7.12 seconds.

Abstract

Early warning of LPG gas leaks is currently not maximized. So that it can cause a fire when a gas leak occurs and the user cannot monitor it remotely. So we need control equipment that can detect gas leaks and gas pressure that can be monitored directly via a smartphone. The purpose of making this control is to release the regulator from the gas cylinder automatically in the event of an LPG gas leak and the user can monitor the LPG gas pressure directly via a smartphone. Making gas leak control using gas sensors and pressure sensors placed near the regulator, the hazard level is determined using the fuzzy logic method and displayed on the smartphone using the Blynk application. The results of the gas sensor accuracy test using a gas lighter with an accuracy of 0.46% and the sensor is able to read gas leaks with a maximum distance of 16 cm from the leak point. Gas pressure testing uses a gas pressure sensor using different gas cylinders with an accuracy of 0.19%. From the test results by applying Mamdani fuzzy logic into 3 membership functions, namely the membership functions AMAN, WASPADA and DANGER.

Abstract

A water pump with a low power factor results in an increase in the value of the current and reactive power, this can result in an increase in the reduction of the water pump efficiency. The purpose of this research is to design a control system to improve the power factor (cos phi) of the water pump automatically using a capacitor bank. When the motor operates, the current, voltage and power factor are read by the PZEM-004T sensor which is then sent to the Arduino. The data from the sensor is used as a basis for calculations to determine the value of the capacitor required by the water pump. Once the capacitor value is known, the Arduino processes the control program to activate the appropriate capacitor bank. This process will take place automatically when the load changes. Based on the test results on one single-phase water pump, the average water pump power factor can be fixed automatically to above 0.9 and the working current of the water pump drops from 0.96 A to 0.73 A as well as the reactive power. There is a difference in the reading from the measuring instrument and the calculation result with an average percentage of 0.2% due to the rounding of the calculation value in the program and also influenced by the accuracy of the reading of the measuring instrument used.

Abstract

DC motors are the most commonly used actuators in both small and large scale industries. Dc motor speed often decreases due to several factors so that the speed becomes unstable, one of the factors of the speed of the DC motor is unstable is the presence of load. In this study, a PID control system was created to regulate the speed of the DC motor. The output of the PID control is PWM which later the PWM value will go to the motor driver. The process will continue to repeat until the output value is close to or equal to the setpoint value that has been determined. Determination of variable values Kp, Ki and Kd using the method of trial and error. These values that later affect the PID control process. Using PID controls, the dc motor can rotate more stablely. If the dc motor's speed is stable, it can reduce vibrations in the food delivery robot and reduce the impact at the start of the DC motor at the beginning. The result and conclusion of this study is that each RPM value we want has a different Value kp, Ki and Kd, for example for the value of RPM 200 then the value of Kp = 0.5 Ki = 0.75 and Kd = 0.03, while for the value of RPM 400 then the value of Kp = 0.3 Ki = 0.88 and Kd 0.002.

Abstract

In Bangka Belitung, there’s many UMKM produce souvenirs typical of Bangka Belitung such as kemplang, kretek, crackers, etc. However,the frying technique used by UMKM from the results of visits mostly still uses the manual method, such as UMKM cannot monitor frying temperatures during production and also cannot control them. UMKM in controlling the temperature still use the manual method,namely if the temperature of the oil has started to heat up and the product started to brown,the stove knob is reduced and otherwise if the temperature isn’t hot enough,the stove knob will be raised.However,UMKM can’t detect the temperature used at that time,causing many production defects.From the results that has been carried out in UMKM, technology is needed to stabilize the temperature of the frying pan so that the production results produce the appropriate product. For the implementation of this frying stabilization process using microkontroller technology,where the actuator use servo motor that’s controlled to the stove.While the control process uses fuzzy logic,where the input and output will be set according to the rule base(rules defined according to the frying conditions in UMKM).The average percentage error from the test results of the frying temperature sensor with low input is 6.50%,medium input is 0.74%,and high input is 1.70%.

Abstract

Not everyone has a normal eye condition, there are some people who have vision problems from birth, and some are caused by the person having an accident. To help with these problems, it is possible to design a tool for visually impaired people based on arduino nano that can facilitate the visually impaired to carry out daily activities. This tool will provide information in the form of distance of an obstacle in the form of sound and user location information, hc-SR04 ultrasonic sensor is used to detect obstacles or obstacles that provide sound output in the form of buzzers. As for location data using the 6m neo ublox gps module sent using the gsm sim 800l module.

Abstract

Formalin foods are one example of foods that are not suitable for consumption. Healthy food should not be contaminated with harmful ingredients. If consumed for a long time, formalin foods can have a fairly high negative effect. These effects include indigestion, respiratory disorders, allergies, eye irritation, kidney damage, risk of cancer, and even damage to the intestines. Therefore, a tool is needed that can detect the level of formalin content found in food. By using an HCHO sensor, this tool can detect formalin gas levels in the food to be tested. The tool uses the ESP8266 nodeMCU as a microcontroller as well as a wi-fi module for serial connections to the internet. The test results of this tool are in the form of numbers in units of parts per million (ppm) which will be displayed on the LCD screen and applications on smartphones. If in the tested food contains formalin that exceeds the maximum limit, then the alarm on this tool will be active. The implementation method used is system design, assembling of formalin detector hardware, assembling the entire electrical circuit, making monitoring and control systems for tools, as well as testing the HCHO sensor and nodeMCU ESP8266. With a minimalist design that weighs 1.5kg and measures 30cm x 20cm x 30cm, this tool is very suitable for use because it is easy to carry everywhere. Based on the results of several experiments that have been carried out, using this tool, the value of formalin levels in dry and solid foods is greater than in soupy foods. The amount of concentration of formalin compounds added and the temperature of the food samples to be tested affect the readings. while for the test results on the nodeMCU ESP822 it can be concluded that the data can be sent as expected.

Abstract

Currently the use of banknotes is unavoidable. Banknotes as a transaction media has been used by all people especially adults. Not only adults, even children already know how to use several banknotesnominal, that is by looking at the color of each banknotes nominal. Therefore, it is necessary to make a banknotes detection tool for blind people so that they are able to recognize the nominal value of banknotes through a sound output system so that it can make it easier for them to transact using banknotes. As for the method used in making this final project was doing test each banknotes nominal using TCS230 color sensor to get the RGB value which is then compared to the value of of each RGB value to be entered into the Arduino Uno database as a special value to initialize each banknote nominal. Based on the results of the tests carried out that the tool made was able to detect 7 nominal banknotes, namely Rp. 1,000, Rp. 2,000, Rp. 5,000, Rp. 10,000, Rp. 20,000, Rp. 50,000, and Rp. 100,000. As for the overall examination of banknotes nominal, this tool has a success percentage of 92.8% and the error percentage on the tool is approximately 7.2%.
