Abstract

The fishing pond business is currently a trend, so good management is needed. One important aspect is the existence of an information system for the schedule and duration of fishing time. An IoT-based information system is a device that is used as an information delivery media. This information system uses IoT-based wireless communication which is controlled by via Android. The purpose of this research is to design and develop an information system that is integrated with Android in this fishing pond business so that the delivery of information is more efficient. The methodology in this research used primary data collection and literature study. Hardware manufacture is done by selecting the type and color of the Dot Matrix. Software development is carried out using the Arduino Uno microcontroller and the PA 2022 application as a data control system. The result of this research is an information system that is efficient and easy to operate and has an accurate fishing duration. This information system is the result of the development of an existing information system.

Abstract

At this time the safety system of the safe is the most important thing in our daily lives, both individuals or groups often need protection against security in order to maintain interests in something that is considered important to be guarded. With the passage of time, the development of this technology is getting faster and trying to answer human needs. With today's technology, all human needs are very relative and can be the first layer that protects the contents of the room, that's why a safe must be equipped with security devices that are very easy to use. One example of how to increase a security factor is a safe tool that must utilize Arduino Uno technology as a microcontroller. In this safe security system using a fingerprint sensor and buzzer, this can help users in securing their valuables.

Abstract

Persons with disabilities are a handful of people with special needs who have the same roles and rights as society in general. However, they will usually find it difficult to carry out daily activities, for example in using a vehicle. Therefore we designed a Car Control System for Wheelchair Users to help people with disabilities, especially for those who experience physical limitations in one of the bodies, namely the legs. The Steering Control System and FESS that we designed use a Brushless DC Motor as the main driver of the steering system using a microcontroller in the form of Arduino and the Brushless DC Motor Controller itself. As well as the existence of a Tilt sensor or tilt sensor which is useful as a signal to Arduino to activate the Flywheel with the aim of having a charging system from the remaining rotation of the Flywheel as energy savings. The method we use is retrieval of RPM data from 1.2V – 3.3V so that we get a stable RPM value.

Abstract

This research leads to monitor condition of cleanliness and suitability of clean water is very important to support human life daily. Clean water will make us feel safe and comfortable when using it. There are several particles and materials contained in water, even in the clean water category. Several parameters that are often measured as benchmarks for the level of water cleanliness include the acidity level of the water (pH level), the number of particles or substances in the form of organic and non-organic compounds in the water or often called TDS (Total Dissolve Solid) and the level of water turbidity or often called turbidity. In this research, monitoring will be carried out on water located on the coast, for example brackish water, on the levels of these three water parameters so that the water can be categorized as suitable for use at least for MCK (Bathing Washing Toilet) for people who use this water. In this research, a filter method was used to purify water using palm fiber, silica sand, zeolite stone and activated charcoal. Several test results carried out showed an increase in the acidity level of the water from 6.4 NTU to 6.78 NTU, a decrease in the level of impurities in the water or TDS from 1180 ppm to 1104 ppm and a decrease in the level of water turbidity or turbidity from 3.2 to 1.16. The test data shows that the filter can work quite well even though the decrease that occurs is not very significant, especially in the TDS level value and this value can be monitored well on the LCD or on the smartphone application.

Abstract

Facial recognition is a type of biometric based on human facial features. Face recognition is very important for an institution such as a university where many students make it difficult for employees to recognize students one by one. This study used students as objects and focused on one laboratory room. The goal is to identify anyone who is in the laboratory room. The Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) method with a webcam is used in this study to recognize the faces of students or anyone who enters the laboratory. The system will report anyone caught by the camera including those who are not recognized. Based on the experimental results, data is obtained that the system can recognize objects well up to a distance of 4 maters and the optimum for 100% accuracy is at a distance of 3 meters. Accuracy will decrease if the distance from the object to the camera is less than 3 meters, which is 93,33% for a distance of 2 meters and 86,67% for a distance of 1 meter.

Abstract

Human Machine Interface (HMI) is a means of liaison and communication media between machines and humans. In this research, HMI was created for citrus fruit sorters that have not yet integrated HMI. This research was carried out to develop a citrus fruit sorter so that it is integrated with HMI. The method used is to implement an HMI on a citrus fruit sorter which is integrated with Arduino, Arduino as a sensor control controller. The orange fruit sorter is installed with a relay which is controlled by an Arduino for input signals to the PLC as the main control which has been programmed using the CX-Programmer. Monitoring and control can be accessed via the HMI display which has been programmed using NB-Designer. The HMI test results were successfully displayed in the form of a graphic visualization containing indicators and ON and OFF buttons for actuators and sensors, as well as displaying data on the number of oranges sorted. The test results carried out by the sorter were able to distinguish green and yellow oranges with an accuracy rate of 93.75% and the implementation of HMI was successful in monitoring and controlling the process of sorting citrus fruit.

Abstract

Indonesia is a tropical country that generally faces the risk of widespread mosquito distribution in each of its regions. With the abudance of mosquito distribution, the spread of mosquito larvae will also increase. As a result, mosquito larvae fins suitable places to breed in hard-to-reach areas. Therefore, a tool is needed to monitor these mosquito larvae when they are in water reservoir or containers that are difficult to access. The method used in this final project is You Only Look Once (YOLO). Based on the system can perform detection but is not yet working optimally. The system can detect well in places with bright light intensity or not too dark. The test result of this system show that it can detect many mosquito larvae at once. The accuracy results obtained from testing range from 51% - 89%.

Abstract

The lack of public understanding in distinguishing between fresh and spoiled meat, coupled with the unrestricted use of formalin, provides opportunities for unscrupulous traders to gain greater profits. Therefore, the development of image processing for beef freshness and formalin identification is necessary. This image processing utilizes the YOLO method, while formalin identification is done using an HCHO sensor. The system was tested every 2 hours, starting from 9:00 AM, revealing that at 9:00 AM, fresh meat was identified with a 87.89% accuracy, at 11:00 AM, fresh meat was identified with a 74.43% accuracy, and at 1:00 PM, spoiled meat was identified with a 38.85% accuracy. The results indicate that the longer the meat is left untreated, the more its freshness diminishes, eventually being identified as spoiled meat. For formalin identification in beef, results from 4 samples show that the longer the meat is exposed to formalin solution, the higher the volatility of the sensor, indicating the presence of formalin in the meat.

Abstract

With current advances in technology, an automatic nurse call display system was designed that patients can easily ask for help from a nurse via a calling device that is connected wirelessly to the display unit in the nurse's room. This research aims to design and implement an automatic nurse call display system which is expected to increase the efficiency and responsiveness of nursing services in hospitals. When the patient presses the button in the Blynk application, the display will receive a signal which will display the patient's room number, patient name, and what complaint the patient needs. The method used in making this automatic nurse call display is controlled by an Arduino Uno microcontroller and uses ESP32 as a tool to transmit data between the patient call device and the display unit in the nurse's room. The results of this study indicate that the system works well by reducing nursing staff response time and increasing patient satisfaction. In other words, the conclusion is that this system works by sending signals from the patient calling device to the display unit in the nurse's station to display requests for help in real-time.

Abstract

Drying is a process of simultaneous transfer of heat and water vapor that requires heat energy to evaporate the water content contained in the material being dried by a drying medium that is usually heat, at this time the development of modern technology and automation of electronic equipment has changed the way work is done, including clothes dryers. This tool is able to dry various types of clothes such as t-shirts, cotton, jeans, and jackets, which are commonly used daily. The author developed an IoT-based automatic clothes dryer using electrical energy. This tool works with a heating system that comes from a heater that is spread by an AC fan so that it is evenly distributed throughout the closet. And the IoT functions as monitoring conditions in the closets such as temperature, humidity and time, Drying can be done independent of the weather and following a predetermined time and temperature, with an optimal room humidity levels: 75% t-shirt, 74% cotton, 77% jeans, and 77% jacket.
