Abstract

The research titled “Saput Poleng dalam Penciptaan Karya Seni Lukis dengan Teknik Opaque danImpasto” was an art creation research based on the development of painting that served as an awareness media of nature conservation by raising local wisdom as symbol of natural balance. Polengcloth was a symbol of natural balance. In everyday life, Hindus in Bali, especially in Hindu ritualactivities, often wore objects or woven fabrics with various colors, such as white, red, yellow, or amixture of these colors. The variety of colors used was not just for enhancing the beauty of theceremonies in order to make them look splendid, but actually the use of color was based on thephilosophical meaning derived from the Vedic scriptures. This research used several methods of artistic research (art creation). These stages included: research, experimentation, contemplation, and formation. The research was focused on the meaning of poleng cloth in nature conservation, usingmetaphor language in its disclosure, visualizing it by combining opaque technique and impasto technique. These technique was used to create cloth characters and tree characters. Utilized acrylic paintas the ingredient, because in addition to dry quickly, this paint brought unexpected effects added tothe artistic value. The hope was, by creating this painting in addition to experimenting and exploringfor new possibilities in combining opaque techniques with wider and free impasto techniques, thepainting was also became awareness media to be more concerned with nature conservation.Keywords: Saput poleng, metaphor, opaque and impasto.

Abstract

The study of the creation of kinetic artwork with the title “Rampogan” focuses on the study of the creation of installation works that can move (kinetic). The purpose of this experiment-based art creation is to explore the possibilities of novelty on three aspects, namely: (1) visual rampogan aspects of the wayang kulit purwa as a representation of ideas, (2) aspects of the medium / material used and (3) mechanics aspects that can move the aesthetic elements of the work.The theme of the work in this creation study originated in Javanese cultural art, namely “Rampogan” (the puppet child who describes the dynamics of warriors leaving for war). This represents the idea of creating works about social phenomena that occur in Indonesia now, where the common life of the nation and state has been torn apart by a group of people who force the will of their groups by going down the streets.The method of creating this work uses a method of “artistic creation” which consists of three stages of creation, namely: (1) the experimental stages related to the exploration of materials, tools and techniques. (2) the contemplation stage relating to the exploration process of several alternative metaphors that will be used in the work, and (3) the formation stage which is the process of materializing the work by considering the principle of composition and structure.The output of this creation study is the creation of a kinetic work with the title “Rampogan”, scientific articles in national journals and intellectual property rights.Keywords: kinetic art, rampogan, Javanese culture

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe invention of laser technology is an extraordinary breakthrough in human life. The needs of human life are mostly helped by laser technology, including medicine, and the creative industries. In the creative industry, laser technology is very significant in producing works and products that require complicated details, form precision, and speed of cultivation.The advantages of laser technology are utilized in the studies of graphic art creations in making matrix relief print with MDF (Medium Density Fibreboard) media. The use of laser engraving technology is to create a matrix of graphic print works with high print principles by combining the forms produced by manual images and the forms of digital processing, which is, then, assisted by laser technology. Keywords: MDF, cutting laser, high printing technique, matrix ­­ABSTRAKPenemuan teknologi laser merupakan terobosan yang luar biasa dalam kehidupan manusia. Banyak kebutuhan hidup manusia yang kemudian terbantu oleh teknologi laser ini, di antaranya bidang kedokteran, dan industri kreatif. Khusus di bidang industri kreatif, teknologi laser sangat signifikan dalam menghasilkan karya dan produk yang memerlukan detail yang rumit, kepresisian bentuk, dan kecepatan penggarapan.Kelebihan teknologi laser tersebut dimanfaatkan dalam studi penciptaan karya seni grafis untuk membuat matrix relief  print dengan media MDF (Medium Density Fibreboard). Pemanfaat teknologi laser engraving tersebut untuk menciptakan matrix karya cetak grafis dengan prinsip cetak tinggi dengan memadukan bentuk–bentuk yang dihasilkan antara gambar manual dan bentuk-bentuk hasil olah digital, yang kemudian pengerjaan dibantu oleh teknologi laser. Kata kunci: MDF, laser cutting, teknik cetak tinggi, matrix
