Abstract

This study aims to analyze the professional competence of teachers in developing students' disciplined character through interactive media, Wordwall, in natural and social science learning in elementary schools. The research method is qualitative with a case study design at SDN 1 Bedana. The research subjects were class teachers and fourth-grade students. Data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis used an interactive model that includes data condensation, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. Data validity was tested through source triangulation and technique triangulation to ensure the validity of the research findings. The results show that the professional competence of teachers in natural and social science learning based on Wordwall contributes to strengthening students' disciplined character through learning management that includes mastery of material, planning learning objectives, preparing interactive teaching materials, continuous self-development, and the use of learning technology. The impact is seen in increasing student discipline, which is demonstrated through compliance with rules, consistency in participating in learning, punctuality, and responsibility for the learning process and outcomes. In conclusion, students' disciplined character can be strengthened through good teacher professional skills and the use of Wordwall learning media that is carried out regularly and directed. Therefore, teachers and schools need to optimize its use so that learning is of higher quality and students become more accustomed to being disciplined.

Abstract

Strengthening students' independent character in elementary schools is important, but its implementation still needs to be optimized through scouting extracurricular activities. This study aims to critically analyze the strengthening of students' independent character through the implementation of the learning by doing method in scouting extracurricular activities in elementary schools. The qualitative research method with a case study design at SDN Tayem 01, Cilacap. The research subjects included 2 scout instructors, 6 students, and the principal. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. Data were analyzed using an interactive model, namely data condensation, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. Data validity was tested through triangulation of sources and techniques. The results of the study indicate that the application of learning by doing through real practice, meaningful learning experiences, striving through real actions, problem-solving based on experience, as well as interaction and collaboration in Scouting activities can encourage the development of students' independent character gradually. Students become more confident, less dependent on others, and complete assignments responsibly without having to be reminded. It is concluded that learning by doing in scouting extracurricular activities is effective in forming the independent character of elementary school students. Teachers and all related parties need to optimize the application of the learning-by-doing method in extracurricular activities to strengthen students' independent character in a sustainable manner

Abstract

Mathematics plays an important role in developing logical thinking skills, yet learning media remain limited. This study aims to develop an Augmented Reality (AR)-based learning media entitled “Jelajah Dunia Bangun Ruang”, specifically designed to reduce misconceptions about three-dimensional shapes in elementary school. This research uses a Research and Development (R&D) method with the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). The sample consisted of 41 fifth-grade students from the Ki Hajar Dewantara Cluster in Banjarnegara (21 students in the control group and 21 students in the experimental group). Data were collected through expert validation questionnaires, misconception diagnostic tests based on the Certainty of Response Index (CRI), and documentation. Data analysis was conducted using SPSS, including validity, reliability, normality, homogeneity, and hypothesis testing. The results show that the AR-based magazine is highly feasible for use in learning (media experts 100%, content experts 95.38%, language experts 95.56%). The experimental group achieved higher learning outcomes (13.86) compared to the control group (11.90). In addition, the Mann–Whitney test (p = 0.000 < 0.05) indicates a significant difference between the two groups. Thus, AR-based media is proven to be more effective in improving conceptual understanding and reducing misconceptions about three-dimensional shapes in elementary school. Teachers are recommended to gradually integrate Augmented Reality media to enhance understanding and reduce misconceptions.

Abstract

This study aims to uncover the meaning of storytelling practices in strengthening the religious character of elementary school students, with a novelty in the meaning of storytelling as a lived pedagogical experience that shapes the process of internalizing religious values ​​at each stage. The qualitative research method used a phenomenological design at SDN 2 Plorengan and SDIT Al Ihsan, Banjarnegara. Participants consisted of 3 teachers, 6 students, and 2 principals. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data were analyzed using an interactive model of condensation, presentation, and verification. Data were validated through triangulation of techniques, sources, and member checking. The results show that storytelling practices can connect spiritual, moral, and social dimensions in strengthening the religious character of elementary school students. Through interrelated stages from preparation to closing, students not only understand religious values ​​in their relationships with God, themselves, and others, but also reflect on and apply them in their daily lives. Thus, storytelling is interpreted as a pedagogical experience that shapes the understanding and practice of religious values. Therefore, teachers need to develop storytelling practices as learning experiences to strengthen character

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh tingginya prevalensi miskonsepsi siswa Sekolah Dasar pada materi sistem pencernaan manusia, terutama mengenai peran lambung dan proses mekanis-kimiawi. Urgensi penelitian ini terletak pada perlunya inovasi media yang mampu memfasilitasi conceptual change melalui visualisasi konkret yang selaras dengan tuntutan digital abad ke-21. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan Majalah Sains Anak berbasis Augmented Reality (AR) yang valid, praktis, dan efektif dalam mengatasi miskonsepsi tersebut. Metode yang digunakan adalah Research and Development (R&D) dengan model pengembangan ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). Instrumen efektivitas menggunakan desain quasi-experimental pretest-posttest control group design dengan three-tier diagnostic test yang diberikan kepada 56 siswa kelas V di SD Al Irsyad 02 Cilacap. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Majalah Sains berbasis AR dinyatakan sangat valid oleh ahli materi (98%), ahli media (95,2%), dan ahli bahasa (96,4%). Tingkat kepraktisan sangat tinggi berdasarkan respon guru (96%) dan respon positif siswa. Hasil uji efektivitas menunjukkan bahwa kelas eksperimen mengalami peningkatan 80,08%, sementara kelas kontrol hanya meningkat 24,75%. Uji Mann-Whitney U menghasilkan nilai signifikansi 0,000 (p<0,05), sehingga H0 ditolak. Siswa di kelas eksperimen berhasil mencapai kategori konsep ilmiah (construction). Simpulannya, Majalah Sains Anak berbasis AR valid, praktis, dan efektif dalam untuk merestrukturisasi pemahaman konsep siswa pada materi sistem pencernaan manusia.
