Abstract

The Minimum Competency Assessment (AKM) emphasizes numeracy as a vital skill for lifelong learning; however, AKM questions often lack cultural relevance, limiting students’ engagement and understanding. To address this issue, this study aims to develop numeracy questions based on Balinese ethnomathematics aligned with AKM by integrating local cultural contexts to make mathematical concepts more meaningful. This research employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the ADDIE model, involving eighth-grade junior high school students selected through purposive random sampling. Data were collected through questionnaires, tests, and expert evaluations, then analyzed quantitatively to assess the validity, practicality, and effectiveness of the questions. The results show that these ethnomathematics-based questions possess very high validity, practicality, and effectiveness, while also meeting the cognitive demands of AKM and enhancing student engagement. By integrating Balinese cultural elements such as traditional practices and local contexts, these questions help students connect abstract mathematical concepts with real-life applications. This study demonstrates the potential of culturally-based assessments to improve mathematical understanding and foster cultural pride, offering a framework for broader application in various educational contexts to promote more inclusive and meaningful learning.

Abstract

The transition from online learning to limited face-to-face learning requires innovation in learning to increase students' motivation and learning outcomes. This study aims to develop differentiated mathematics learning to improve student learning outcomes and determine the quality of differentiated mathematics learning. This study is a development study using the ADDIE model. The data analysis technique used in this study is for the analysis stage using diagnostic assessment, while at the implementation stage using product validity data analysis by calculating the average score, data analysis to measure product practicality by calculating the average score and data analysis to measure the effectiveness of learning. The results showed that tailored mathematics instruction significantly improved students' conceptual understanding and problem-solving skills compared to traditional instruction methods. Students who received tailored instruction tended to be more active participants in learning, had higher motivation, and showed significant improvements in final test results. This suggests that a tailored instruction approach can be an effective strategy in accommodating the diversity of student abilities, helping achieve more optimal learning outcomes. The implications of this study provide a basis for education policy to further support teacher training in the application of differentiation in instruction, especially in subjects considered difficult, such as mathematics.

Abstract

One of the platforms that can be used for online learning is Google Meet, which is a product made by Google. Google Meet can replace the conventional form of class into an interactive virtual class. The use of quickappninja-based android games in learning mathematics through Google Meet is a medium that can make learning more varied and interesting. Quickappninja is a device in the form of web pages that can be accessed online to create android games using HTML language. Using Quickappninja is easy because it does not require a programming language. In making android games through quickappninja, teachers will be more flexible in developing games according to their needs and subject matter. Apart from being delivered classically through Google Meet, this android game can also be used independently for students as a medium of learning at home, as well as repetition of material for students so that they can better understand math subject matter.

Abstract

The principle of mathematical induction can be an effective tool in organizational decision making. Although these principles have the potential to increase efficiency, reduce uncertainty, and increase accuracy in organizational decision making, their application is limited and has not been fully exploited. Studies need to be conducted to bridge this gap by strengthening the understanding and application of the principles of mathematical induction in the context of organizational decision making. By considering the gaps that occur, it is necessary to conduct research on "The Principle of Mathematical Induction in Organizational Decision Making". This research provides an overview of how the principles of mathematical induction can bridge this gap and improve the quality of decision making in an organizational context. The research method used in this research is a qualitative approach and literature study which involves analysis of relevant literature related to the principles of mathematical induction in the context of organizational decision making. The conclusions from this research are: 1) Applying the principles of mathematical induction in organizational decision making can strengthen efficiency, reduce uncertainty, and increase accuracy in decision making; 2) In applying the principles of mathematical induction in organizational decision making, there are obstacles and challenges that need to be overcome; and 3) Utilizing the principles of mathematical induction involves the use of structured methods, in-depth analysis, and a more objective approach.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan kemampuan self-regulated learning siswa melalui penerapan model Discovery Learning berbantuan media Google Sites Penelitian dirancang sebagai Classroom Action Research yang diimplementasikan dalam dua siklus. Setiap siklus mencakup empat fase: (1) perumusan rencana aksi, (2) implementasi tindakan, (3) pengamatan, dan (4) evaluasi refleksi. Partisipan penelitian melibatkan 43 siswa kelas X RPL 1 SMK Negeri 1 Denpasar pada tahun ajaran 2024/2025. Tingkat self-regulated learning siswa diukur melalui kuesioner yang mencakup aspek metakognitif, motivasi, dan perilaku. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa persentase skor kemampuan self-regulated learning siswa mengalami peningkatan dari pra-siklus hingga siklus II, yaitu 56,07%, 64,80%, dan 73,87%. Pada akhir siklus II, persentase siswa yang memiliki kemampuan self-regulated learning dalam kategori tinggi dan sangat tinggi mencapai 79,07%. Dengan demikian, penerapan Discovery Learning berbantuan media Google Sites dapat meningkatkan kemampuan self-regulated learning siswa.

Abstract

A 16-year-old male patient came to a private dental practice presenting chief complaints about frequent gum bleeding when brushing his teeth. The patient came without his parents. Anamnesis and clinical examination result shows that the patient was suspected of having gingivitis associated with sexually transmitted disease. No medical treatment was performed on the patient because the patient was not accompanied by parents while the patient was not legally able to sign informed consent. The patient was educated about sexually transmitted diseases and asked to come back after taking blood and urine tests, with his parents to accompany him during the examination because the patient. The patient then came back with the results of the blood and urine tests, but without his parents. The dentist cannot provide dental treatment because underage patients must be accompanied by their parents in performing a non-emergency medical treatment. Dentists have the right to postpone the non-emergency medical procedures in private practices for these patients. Dentists are obliged to provide education and refer patients to the hospital for further examination and treatment in accordance with government programs and applicable legal provisions in Indonesia.

Abstract

Penggunaan e-book komik matematika berbasis edutainment merupakan salah satu solusi yang dapat membantu meningkatkan kemampuan matematis siswa. Namun, penerimaan siswa terhadap media pembelajaran baru biasanya tidak akan berjalan dengan mudah. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Partisipan dalam penelitian ini adalah sebanyak 42 siswa kelas VIII.C SMP Negeri 1 Blahbatuh. Penelitian ini berlokasi di SMP Negeri 1 Blahbatuh. Metode pengumpulan data menggunakan angket, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Data kemudian dianalisis menggunakan analisis data deskriptif kualitatif dengan tahap-tahap berikut: reduksi data, presentasi data, serta penarikan kesimpulan atau verifikasi. Berdasarkan data yang sudah diperoleh, skor rata – rata hasil respon siswa terhadap kualitas e-book komik matematika adalah 83,07 dengan perolehan persentase ideal 83%, dimana dalam kriteria penilaian ideal tergolong kedalam kriteria “sangat baik”. Berdasarkan rata – rata dan persentase ideal maka dapat diisimpulkan bahwa penilaian respon siswa terhadap kualitas e-book komik matematika dikategorikan “sangat baik” dan bisa dijadikan sebagai media pembelajaran pada materi lingkaran. Berdasarkan hasil wawancara yang diadakan ke siswa, siswa menyatakan merasa lebih bersemangat saat belajar menggunakan e-book komik matematika berbasis edutainment. Dari hasil observasi, terlihat siswa sangat antusias dalam mengikuti pembelajaran matematika menggunakan e-book komik matematika berbasis edutainment. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa e-book komik matematika berbasis edutainment merupakan media pembelajaran matematika inovatif yang dapat membantu meningkatkan kemampuan matematis siswa.

Abstract

Strategi pembelajaran “What-If” mampu memberikan pengaruh positif terhadap peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana terhadap penerapan strategi pembelajaran “What-If” dalam pembelaharan Metode Statistika I. Desain penelitian yang digunakan merupakan deskriptif kualitatif. Partisipan dalam penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Matematika Universitas Mahasaraswati Denpasat semester IIA semester genap tahun ajaran 2018/2019 yang berjumlah 16 mahasiswa. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan angket serta wawancara tidak terstruktur. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah reduksi data, tampilan data, dan penarikan kesimpulan dan verifikasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 73,75% siswa memberikan respon positif. Beberapa respon dari siswa antara lain: strategi pembelajaran “What-If” mudah diikuti, strategi pembelajaran “What-If” membuat pembelajaran lebih menyenangkan, strategi pembelajaran “What-If” mampu meningkatkan motivasi belajar, strategi pembelajaran “What-If” meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis, dan pemecahan masalah matematika jadi lebih mudah setelah belajar dengan strategi pembelajaran “What-If”.

Abstract

Ethnomathematics as a Pillar of Ethnopedagogy in STEM: A Case Study of Mathematics Education Students’ Critical Understanding. Objectives: This research aims to analyze students' critical understanding of the role of ethnomathematics as a fundamental pillar of ethnopedagogy, particularly in the context of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) education. Specifically, this analysis focuses on dissecting the structural components and argumentation patterns that constitute students' conceptual framework. Methods: This research used a descriptive qualitative approach. Primary data consisted of five sets of written arguments from students in the mathematics education program who had completed the ethnomathematics course. The study involved five undergraduate students as the primary participants. This textual data was analyzed using thematic analysis to identify, examine, and report systematically emerging patterns of understanding. Findings: This analysis shows that students develop structured patterns of understanding. First, they position ethnomathematics as the philosophical foundation for ethnopedagogy by rejecting the assumption of universalism in science and mathematics. This perspective goes beyond mere cultural appreciation, framing ethnomathematics as a decolonizing force that challenges the hegemony of Western knowledge systems. Second, they identify ethnomathematics as the primary pedagogical mechanism for contextualising STEM, serving to address students' alienation from abstract subject matter. Third, they validate local wisdom as an authentic source of STEM content, recognizing cultural practices as valid scientific knowledge. Uniquely, students conceptualize this not as supplementary content, but as the core epistemic bridge that unifies the separate disciplines of STEM within a single cultural activity. Conclusion: The data indicate that students in mathematics education conceptualize ethnomathematics as a central element for the effective implementation of ethnopedagogy in STEM education. This implies that students have successfully internalized a transformative pedagogical framework, viewing indigenous knowledge not as peripheral but as a legitimate and necessary foundation for rigorous STEM learning. Keywords: ethnomathematics; ethnopedagogy; STEM education; critical understanding; teacher education.

Abstract

Pelatihan dan pendampingan pembuatan media interaktif Quizizz paper mode bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kompetensi guru SD Negeri 3 Celuk dalam strategi pembelajaran literasi dan numerasi. Kegiatan ini dilatarbelakangi oleh hasil asesmen nasional yang menunjukkan rendahnya kemampuan literasi dan numerasi siswa, serta keterbatasan guru dalam mengembangkan metode pembelajaran yang inovatif dan kontekstual. Untuk menjawab tantangan tersebut, kegiatan ini dirancang dalam bentuk sosialisasi, pelatihan, praktik penyusunan soal, serta pendampingan intensif. Pelatihan difokuskan pada penguatan pemahaman guru terhadap konsep literasi dan numerasi dalam pembelajaran tematik, serta penerapan Quizizz paper mode sebagai media evaluasi formatif yang menyenangkan, interaktif, dan dapat digunakan tanpa jaringan internet. Hasil pelaksanaan menunjukkan bahwa kegiatan ini berjalan dengan sangat baik, dengan seluruh program yang direncanakan tercapai 100%. Terjadi peningkatan signifikan skor pretest dan posttest peserta pelatihan sebesar 14 poin, dari rata-rata 71 menjadi 85. Guru menunjukkan antusiasme tinggi dan berperan aktif dalam seluruh rangkaian kegiatan, mulai dari diskusi, praktik penyusunan soal, hingga simulasi penggunaan media.
