Abstract

During the COVID-19 pandemic, it is essential to maintain a healthy condition to reduce the risk of exposure to COVID-19. One way is to take vitamins or herbal-based supplements. Samilakor, the abbreviation of 'Sari Minuman Rempah asli Lawan Korona,' can modulate and increase immunity. The training target for making Samilakor is the SA3 Bidakara Forum, South Jakarta, an online community initially formed as an Islamic forum at the Al Hidayah Mosque, South Jakarta. This training includes knowledge about COVID-19, immunomodulators, how to process spices, and making Samilakor herbal drink. The training on making herbal drinks is conducted through an online seminar (webinar) via the Zoom platform. Participants' knowledge was assessed by pre-test and post-test, conducted online via Google Form. The success indicator of the training can be seen from the increased knowledge of participants in knowledge about COVID-19 and the process of making herbal drinks. The statistical analysis used is paired t-test. The analysis of pre-test and post-test scores showed that the participants experienced an increase in scores from an average score of 60.5 (SD = 12.1) to 80.5 (SD = 15.7). The paired t-test analysis yielded a p-value of <0.001, which indicates a significant difference between the pre-test and post-test scores. The training on making Samilakor herbal drink increased people's knowledge and understanding of COVID-19 and the immunomodulatory capabilities of herbal drinks. In addition, this training can be carried out online to cover a broader scope.

Abstract

Background: Gonial angle is one of the angles measured in vertical skeletal analysis using lateral cephalograms. Gonial angle is made of tangent line to the posterior border of mandibular ramus with mandibular plane. Definition of gonial angle depends on mandibular plane which generally consists of various methods according to Downs, Tweed, and Steiner.  Purpose: To investigate the difference of gonial angles measurement methods among vertical skeletal patterns on lateral cephalograms. Methods: Observational analytic research was conducted on 21 lateral cephalograms of orthodontic patients who had come to one of orthodontic clinic in Solo in 2016-2021. The cephalograms were taken by the same operator using Vatech PaX-i3D™, then they were categorized into 3 vertical skeletal pattern groups. Reference points and tracings were submitted to supervising orthodontist via ZOOM twice daily in the morning and in the afternoon. The measured data was recorded in table and was analyzed with Statistical for Social Science (SPSS) program. Results: In each vertical skeletal pattern groups, there was no significant difference found among Downs’s, Tweed’s, and Steiner’s gonial angles. There was significant difference among gonial angles of hypodivergent, normodivergent, and hyperdivergent samples. Conclusion: There was no significant difference of three gonial angle measurement methods among three vertical skeletal patterns on lateral cephalograms.

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic poses the challenge ofining a healthy and varied diet and regular physical activity. This is because people prefer to buy processed foods, such as snacks, fast food, and ready-to-eat cereals, which tend to be high in fat, sugar, and salt. In addition, psychological and emotional responses to the outbreak of COVID-19 can increase the risk of developing dysfunctional eating behavior. The choice of foods and how often they are eaten can affect the health of the body, teeth, and gums. Excessive consumption of sugar-containing soda, fruit drinks with added sugar, or low-nutritional snacks can increase the risk of teeth hole. Therefore, a community service program (PkM) was designed with the aim of providing education and training to the community to gain knowledge about diet and improve health. The development and training of a healthy diet to the Lisiuex Apartment Meditarenia 1 West Jakarta community was conducted online, illustrating the improvement of the participants' knowledge and yielding good results. Sustainable education and training programmes are needed as a means of improving the development of health that starts with the family.

Abstract

Maintaining the dental and oral health of their children is greatly aided by mothers' awareness of dental emergencies. Dental emergencies might involve issues that need to be treated right once, like infections, chipped teeth, or damaged teeth. Aloe vera is a natural substance with remarkable healing qualities, which is why it is used in first aid for wounds. Aloe vera gel, which is readily extracted contains anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, and antioxidant substances that can help relieve pain, minimize swelling, and prevent infection. In Cideng Village, Gambir District, Central Jakarta, PKK women received counseling on handling wounds with aloe vera plants and dental trauma emergencies to increase their knowledge and abilities in dealing with dental trauma problems and wound healing with aloe vera. Faculty of Dentistry Universitas Trisakti Team from the dentistry education study program, the dentistry profession study program, and the master of dentistry study program completed this Community Service activity. Counseling and instructional media, including power point, videos, and posters, are used as part of community service projects. Through exams administered prior to counseling and compared with those administered following counseling, an increase in knowledge of tooth trauma crises and wound treatment using Aloe vera was gained in this activity. This counseling exercise is a crucial step in learning more about using Aloe vera to heal wounds from oral and dental injuries. It is necessary to keep taking a structural approach to the community. It is anticipated that social media counseling would expand its influence inside the community.
