Abstract

This study will be describe the function and role of MERCOSUR (Mercado Comun del Sur) as a regional organization in Latin America in Brazil in improving the economy through economic cooperation. The majority of the regional integration projects are first and foremost economic processes. They are based on the political will of elites and on political decisions on the part of governments and powerful economic agents. MERCOSUR is a regional integration initiative that includes Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay as current members, with negotiations towards including also Chile and Bolivia.This research show that MERCOSUR can bring positive benefits for Brazil’s economic, politics, social and culture sector. The aim is twofold: on the one hand, to assess whether regional integration policies have diffused to the domestic policy arena, generating policy impacts and institutional changes in the member States; on the other, to evaluate the possible impact of higher education regulatory regionalism prompted by the European Union on MERCOSUR´s policies.As for the methode used in the study is qualitative research. The data obtained from literature in the form of books, documents, journals, newspapers, internet and other media that related to the issues.Key word: free trade areas, common market, export-import, investment, Gross Domestic Bruto (GDP)

Abstract

Abstract U.S. and China have had trade cooperation since a few decades ago. U.S. thought that China could be a pusher for the economic of its country. The first step was given to China  entering WTO. So, every barriers from international trade could minimize. But, China and world were taken aback that U.S. apply protectionism policy. That is different from the beginning commitment from U.S.. This research examines about the protectionism policy which United States does to China protecting trade goods U.S.. The method that used in this research is qualitative. All of the data are by library research. China is the biggest partner of U.S in international trade. But, the rising of China’s economic with China’s defeitculnesses that had been found from Section 301 investigation making the U.S position in hegemonic economy in the world be starting shif. That is why U.S wants to protect their position and rights that has been stolen by China. The protectionism appears as a result from Section 301 that give U.S Presiden making new tariffs about impor tariffs from China. The goal of the protectionism is to make renegoitation about structural trade between both countries. This goal is the main reason caused of protectionism policy.  Protectionism isn’t the end of their trade but the beginning for new agreement reached.Keywords: Protectionism, tariff, section 301, deficit, export, import, intellectual proverty, hegemony, jobs

Abstract

This Research is analyzes about the efforts of NGO network International POPs Elimination Network (IPEN) in action to resolve the complexity of exposure to mercury in artisanal small gold mining (ASGM) and health sector in Indonesia. Mercury is a well-known toxic that is damage for environment and acute health-effects. Mercury widely used and extent in artisanal gold mining due to the increase of ASGM sites and lack of explicit law. Environmental and health impatcs report not spread out, nevertheless case of health disorder and environment imbalance are exists in every mining site.In this research uses Tranznational Advocacy Network concept, which IPEN network have connectivity with NGOs worldwide. By applying Communication theory and level analysis is International Organization. These concepts aim to qualitatives method and library research for references.Some of IPEN network efforts are by conducting strategic approaches programme and mercury monitoring programme in three level; upstream, middle-stream, and down-stream, through the medium of NGO Balifokus Indonesia (IPEN Participating organization). These efforts create approximately of significant results such as legal-binding national laws (force by laws, ministrylaws, standard/SNI) and international (convention and ratification) to resolve of rampant mercury uses in Indonesia.Keywords: mercury, efforts, IPEN network, strategic approache, monitoring.

Abstract

Energy is one of the important main sources for the industrialization of country. However, some countries has limited natural resources. China that has energy security cooperates with Indonesia that has more energy and natural resources. Finally, The name of cooperation is Indonesia-China Energy Forum (ICEF). In 2002, there’s 3 (tree) of china’s company that operation in Indonesia, that’s CNPC, CNOOC, and SINOPEC.This research describes about the interest of China in FDI coorporation about oil and gas with Indonesia. China cooporates in FDI with Indonesia want to fulfill energy needs and has economic’s interest.Keyword: Energy security, economic’s interest, ICEF, oil and gas.

Abstract

This research explains about economic crisis in Spain. The discuscion is focused on dimention of IMF’s role in facing Spain’s economic crisis by creating program that started in 2012. European Union crisis is first started in grEece and followed by few other countries such as Portugese, Ireland and including Spain which is started from economic bubble effect. To decrease the crisis, Spain has proposed bailout from Eurpean Union that join with IMF as the monitorer and advisor to Spain government facing the economic crisis esspecially in banking which is the main proble in this country.Keywords: IMF, Spain, EU, Economic Crisis

Abstract

Indonesia is a country with muslim poeple as majority, and Prudential Insurence company sees it as an opportunity to fullfil muslim people’s need with the insurence based on sharia. That is why Prudential Insurence company has strategy to launch sharia insurence product and it is called Prudential Unit Link Sharia Account and also increasing the ability of agents as negotiator for marketing the sharia product.This research aims to determine about the strategy of Prudential Insurence company to increase customer and gain muslim people’s interest on insurence in Indonesia. Prudential company comes from United Kingdom and currently become the biggest and the best insurence company in Indonesia.This reasearch is based on librarian research like book, relevant journal, newspaper and internet. In this research, the writer uses qualitative and quantitative research method. Using a level analysis of group, the perspective uses is liberal perspective to understanding the strategies use by Prudential Insurance company.Keyword: Prudential, Insurence, Muslim Indonesia, Sharia.

Abstract

The United States’s economy crisis because of housing subprime mortgage cause decrease of economy world 2008 that still continues until 2009. For the developed countries and emerging markets, this situation can damage economy fundamnetal and trigger economy crisis. the rubber cause becomes research object, first rubber becomes one of export commodity that gives chance to Indonesian for expanding the market. Second, rubber is the biggest donation from agriculture sector. Third, rubber is one of important farm commodity, both as income source, job chance and devisa, economy development for new centrals in surrounding and evironment and natural resources and as country with the biggest area and the second production in the world.The research methode that is used by the writer is the analyze descriptive methode. It is research methode that is used to describe sistematicaly a moment or problem that become study topic sistematicaly and rely on analyze against the events from consequence perspective and data arrangement. In the implemention, this methode limits not only in collecting and data arrangement, but analyze and interpretation against those datas.The United State’s economy crisis causes Indonesian’s rubber export. The rubber export value influences decrease in 2009, the rubber price in domestic and international also influences decrease. Not only price and value of rubber export but also rubber production of Indonesia. Also influences deecrease so taht it has impact against the worker in the factory which are fired and the farmers change livelihood in to the palm.Keywords: The United State’s Economy Crisis, Rubber, Subprime Mortgage

Abstract

The study analyzed Japan's interest in issuing a policy restricting the export of semiconductor raw materials to South Korea. The policy originated with South Korea's Supreme Court ruling that three Japanese companies paid compensation to the families of victims of forced labor during the Japanese occupation. The three companies are companies engaged in the semiconductor manufacturing industry.  This study uses a Neo-merchantilisme perspective that focuses on the country's efforts to profit by providing barriers to international trade against other countries. The theory used is trade theory: a diamond model with a foreign policy concept. Based on internal and external factors, Japan updated security export control rules that tighten the export process of certain items based on FEFTA rules. Tightened items include semiconductor raw materials. This rule applies to white-listed countries, including South Korea.Keywords: Interests, Export Restrictions Policy, Semiconductor Raw Materials

Abstract

This study analyzes the factors that motivate Indonesia signed a preferential trade agreement with Mesir in 2011 . the reasons which prompted Indonesia to cooperate with Mesir to better cooperation , free trade agreements . Abstract

This research analyzes the impacts of implementation of Vegetable OilDevelopment Project (VODP) to local communities in Kalangala District inUganda. VODP’s main aim is to deduct Uganda’s dependency of import ofvegetable oil by supporting vegetable oil and palm oil production. VODP palm oilsub-project has been implementing in Kalangala, Bugala Island, as one of theefforts of Government of Uganda in reducing rural poverty. This project involvesrole of International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) as loan donorand project supervisor, Wilmar International Ltd, Bidco Uganda Limited (BUL),Oil Palm Uganda Limited (OPUL) as the executors of the project, while thesmallholders are given the chance to participate in the project by selling the freshfruit bunches to BUL. This project binds all actors by applying public-privatepartnership so that they have each profit and risk. However, this research findsout that there are negative impacts in main sectors that is endangeringcommunities’ life in Kalangala.Keywords: Impacts, Partnership, Rural Poverty, Palm Oil Development
