Abstract

This study focuses on enhancing agricultural productivity through sustainable resource management, community empowerment, and local innovation in the form of eco enzyme production by the Sumber Rezeki Women Farmers' Group (KWT). Conventional farming practices and a lack of innovation often hinder productivity. This research aims to increase productivity and community self-reliance by transforming organic waste into eco enzyme, aligning with global trends in social group strengthening and sustainable agriculture innovation. Using the Community-Based Research (CBR) approach, the study followed four stages: foundation, planning, data collection and analysis, and action. Data were gathered through observation, interviews, documentation, and focus group discussions, and analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model. The results revealed three key findings: 1) mentoring in eco enzyme production improved members' skills and knowledge; 2) the program's success was supported by sustainability commitment, local wisdom-based solidarity, and innovation-driven self-reliance; 3) the cooperation of these elements forms the concept of Ecocooperation Transformation, which enhances productivity while strengthening community resilience. This study contributes to the literature on local innovation and community empowerment in sustainable agriculture and offers a replicable model of Ecocooperation Transformation for other communities. In conclusion, collaboration, local innovation, and community strengthening are essential to achieving sustainable agricultural productivity and self-sufficiency.

Abstract

This study examines the authoritative sources utilized by the Tafsir study community within the Batak Angkola society in Padangsidimpuan City for interpreting the verses of the Qur’an. The objective is to identify and analyze the primary references employed by this community to understand and convey Qur’anic interpretations. A qualitative research method with an ethnographic approach was used. Data were collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and a literature review relevant to the study. The findings reveal that the Tafsir study community relies on a combination of classical and modern tafsir as their main sources for Qur’anic interpretation. Additionally, local culture influences distinctive interpretive patterns among the Batak Angkola society, although some community members face challenges in integrating local cultural elements into their interpretations. The study concludes that the authoritative sources used by the Tafsir community reflect a dynamic adaptation between Islamic teachings and local culture; however, not all members incorporate local culture into their interpretations. Ultimately, this interpretive study produces a unique and contextual approach to Qur’anic exegesis.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the social cohesiveness of Indonesian Muslim communities during Ramadan. Moral sense, sense of belonging, social har mony, sense of security, and tolerance in this study are used as indicators to understand social cohesiveness.  Data were collected through questionnaires with 600 respondents randomly selected in three districts/cities in West Sumatra and Yogyakarta provinces. The study found that two indicators of social cohesion were in the high category, namely a sense of morality (3.39 or 84.75%) and social harmony (3.30 or 82.50%), while three other indicators of social cohesion were in the medium category, namely a sense of belonging (2.34 or 58.50%), a sense of security (2.54 or 63.50%), and tolerance (2.70 or 67.50%). Thus, the social cohesion of the Muslim community during Ramadan is in the moderate category, with an average of 2.85 or equivalent to 71.17 percent. This study concludes that Ramadan has not contributed significantly to building social cohesiveness. The ambiguity of faith, which is ambiguous in understanding reality; sacred and profane, can be identified as one of the reasons why Ramadan has not been able to build social cohesiveness.

Abstract

This study examines how YouTube audiences interpret eschatological Islamic da‘wah messages delivered by Ustadz Zulkifli Muhammad Ali within the digital public sphere. Employing a qualitative reception analysis, the research draws on Stuart Hall’s encoding/decoding framework to categorize audience interpretations into preferred, negotiated, and oppositional readings. The data were collected from user comments posted on the YouTube video “The End of the Age is Very Near” and systematically analyzed using NVivo 12 Plus. The findings reveal that negotiated and oppositional readings are more prominent than preferred readings, indicating a critical and reflexive mode of audience engagement. Many responses articulate skepticism, satire, and selective acceptance of the eschatological message, as viewers attempt to contextualize the da‘wah within broader social realities, religious knowledge, and contemporary concerns. These patterns suggest that digital da‘wah audiences do not merely consume religious messages but actively interpret, contest, and reframe them. This study contributes to the growing scholarship on digital da‘wah and religion online by demonstrating that religious meaning on social media is produced through dialogic and contested processes, where religious authority and interpretation are continuously negotiated in platform-mediated environments.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the patterns for developing inherited assets in multiethnic communities in Pasaman and Dharmasraya (West Sumatra) and Mandailing Natal and Panyabungan (North Sumatra). The research focuses on the interaction between customary, religious, and state laws in inheritance practices and their implications for social relations, family cohesion, and economic orientation. Using a qualitative comparative case study approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and document analysis with inter-ethnic families. The research findings reveal three distinct patterns of heritage development. The collective-conservative pattern in Pasaman emphasizes family solidarity and asset preservation, while also reflecting internal power relations and potential conflicts of interest in decision-making. The customary-conservative pattern in Dharmasraya highlights the dominance of customary norms in heritage management, oriented toward social stability and cultural preservation, yet it can also reinforce traditional authority structures and symbolic subordination. Meanwhile, the individualistic-commercial pattern in Mandailing Natal prioritizes maximizing economic value and enhancing family economic mobility, but it may generate social differentiation and economic inequality among family members. These findings indicate that heritage development patterns are shaped not only by economic considerations but also by “ethnic logic” rooted in kinship structures, customary norms, and social relations. Across most locations, customary law remains the dominant framework, religious law provides moral legitimacy and distribution guidance, and state law is applied selectively. In conclusion, this study demonstrates that legal pluralism in Indonesia’s multi-ethnic context is not merely a normative reality, but also a socially chosen strategy.

Abstract

This study analyzes the impact of regulatory instability on global investor trust from the perspective of Siyasah Syari'ah, with a focus on techno-industrial investment relocation in Southeast Asia during 2024–2025. Using a qualitative normative-juridical method with a comparative case study approach, this research examines three pivotal cases: Apple's iPhone 16 ban in Indonesia, Tesla's Gigafactory cancellation, and NVIDIA's expansion into Vietnam. The study applies three core Siyasah Syari'ah concepts Gharar Siyasi (political uncertainty), Hifz al-Mal (protection of wealth), and Maslahah Mursalah (public interest) as analytical lenses to evaluate government investment policies. Findings reveal that Indonesia's erratic protectionist approach, including sudden product bans and an oversized bureaucracy, constitutes Gharar Siyasi, thereby undermining investor confidence and causing capital flight to Vietnam, which demonstrably applied the principle of Maslahah through incentive-based policies (Decree 182/2024). The study concludes that legal certainty is both a rational economic requirement and a moral-religious obligation in Islamic governance. Policy recommendations are offered for Indonesia to reform its regulatory approach toward a more transparent, incentive-oriented, and Shari'ah-compatible investment environment.
