Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of diamond passing drills on improving short passing and stopping skills in 10-11 year old soccer players. Short passing and stopping techniques are very important in maintaining smooth gameplay and effective team strategy. The study used an experimental method with a one-group pre-test and post-test design involving 20 students from SSB Roksi as samples. The treatment, which consisted of diamond passing training, was given for four weeks with a frequency of three times per week. Skill data were measured before and after the treatment using a standardized instrument. Data analysis included the Shapiro-Wilk normality test, homogeneity test, and paired sample t-test. The results of the analysis showed an increase in the average score for short passing stopping skills from 9.25 in the pre-test to 15.10 in the post-test. The t-test showed a significance value of p = 0.000 (p < 0.05), which means that there was a significant improvement in ability after diamond passing training. The conclusion of the study states that the diamond passing training method is effective in improving short passing stopping skills in young athletes. This study recommends that coaches implement this method in basic soccer technique training programs for 10-11 year olds.

Abstract

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of programmed futsal extracurricular activities on social skills and futsal playing skills in the futsal extracurricular activities of male students at SMP Negeri 37 Bandung. The method used in this study was an experiment using a One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The population in this study consisted of 26 male students from SMP Negeri 37 Bandung who participated in futsal extracurricular activities, while the sample in this study consisted of 26 people using a saturated sampling technique, which means that the entire population was used as the sample.  The social skills instrument uses a questionnaire based on the SSRC (Social Skill Rating Scale), while playing skills use the GPAI (Game Performance Assessment Instrument). Based on the processing and analysis of the data obtained, the average score for the social skills questionnaire increased from 52.54 to 69.04, and the average score for the play skills test increased from 6.96 to 8.62. The results of the paired sample T-test on both variables show that the sig. value (2-tailed) is 0.000 < 0.05. Thus, Ho was rejected and Ha was accepted. It can therefore be concluded that programmed futsal extracurricular activities have a significant effect on social skills and futsal playing skills.

Abstract

Abstract

Talent identification is a fundamental stage in developing competitive sports because it plays a role in determining the direction of long-term athlete development. In finswimming, the talent identification process requires a specific and multidimensional approach considering the different physical, technical, and physiological demands from conventional swimming. However, finswimming talent identification practices are still often carried out subjectively and have not been integrated into a systematic decision-making model. The goal of this study is to use the Analytic Hierarchy Process approach to perform a comprehensive literature evaluation and synthesis of scientific literature on finswimming athlete talent identification based on important criteria and talents, using a systematic literature review design guided by the PRISMA 2020 framework. The research process involved searching for publications published between 2015 and 2025 in the PubMed, ScienceDirect, and Google Scholar databases using the PRISMA 2020 criteria as a guide. Based on the selection process, four studies were determined to meet the inclusion criteria and a narrative and descriptive analysis was conducted. The synthesis results showed that physical and physiological characteristics, especially muscle strength and aerobic endurance, were the most important factors in determining finswimming skills, with technical and psychological factors coming in second. These findings show how the Analytic Hierarchy Process approach can help identify athletic talent in finswimming in an objective, methodical, and evidence-based manner.

Abstract

This study analyzes the relationship between female coaches’ leadership styles and the performance of amateur futsal teams in Bandung, Indonesia. Using the Leadership Scale for Sport (LSS), the research evaluated five leadership dimensions training and instruction, democratic behavior, autocratic behavior, social support, and positive feedback among 87 athletes from 6 clubs coached by female coaches. Team performance was measured based on competition rankings. The results of Pearson correlation and multiple regression analyses indicated that training and instruction, democratic behavior, and social support had a positive influence on team performance (p < 0.05), while autocratic behavior and positive feedback showed a negative trend (p < 0.10), although not statistically significant. These findings suggest that collaborative and supportive leadership approaches enhance athletic performance, whereas authoritarian methods may hinder it. This study highlights the importance of adaptive leadership in sports coaching and provides practical recommendations to improve futsal team success.

Abstract

Indonesian students living abroad face the challenge of developing global competence while maintaining a strong sense of Indonesian national identity. Sekolah Indonesia Kuala Lumpur provides a strategic educational setting for strengthening nationalism through participatory and culturally relevant learning experiences. This community service program aimed to strengthen nationalism among Indonesian students through psychosocial-based physical activity education. The program employed a participatory educational approach that integrated an interactive seminar, collaborative physical activities, reflective discussions, and program evaluation involving students, teachers, and educational staff. A total of 138 students completed a post-program questionnaire using a five-point Likert scale. The student questionnaire demonstrated excellent internal consistency, with a Cronbach’s alpha coefficient of 0.902. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, including frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation, supported by qualitative interpretations of observations and participant discussions. The findings showed that students had positive perceptions of the program, with mean scores ranging from 4.15 to 4.32. The highest score was recorded for pride in being an Indonesian student. Participants also recognized the benefits of physical activity for health, cooperation, discipline, social interaction, and cultural preservation. Teachers and educational staff considered the program relevant to character education and national identity development in a multicultural school environment. These findings indicate that psychosocial-based physical activity can serve as an innovative community service strategy for strengthening nationalism, social cohesion, character education, and healthy lifestyles among Indonesian students in overseas schools.
