Abstract

The incidence of acne in Indonesia reaches 85% with an age range of around 15-24 years. The research aims to analyze the effect of water clover extract (Marsilea crenata Presl.) on the inhibition zone of Staphylococcus epidermidis. This type of research is a true experiment with a quantitative approach. The experimental design is The Post Test-Only Control Group Design. The research population was a pure culture of Staphylococcus epidermidis and the sample used was Staphylococcus epidermidis with a density of 1.5 x 10-8. The research method is the well diffusion method. Data were analyzed using one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA).  The results of the research were that the concentration of water clover extract (Marsilea crenata Presl.) 25% volume 30µl, 50µl, 75µl, and 100µl had an average diameter of the inhibition zone, namely 6.41 mm, 7.51mm, 8.36 mm, and 9.70 mm. The conclusion of this research is that there is an influence of water clover extract (Marsilea crenata Presl.) on the diameter of the inhibition zone of Staphylococcus epidermidis and the most effective concentration in inhibiting bacterial growth is 25% extract with a volume of 100 µl with an average diameter of the inhibition zone of 9.70 mm.

Abstract

This study examines the application of the inquiry learning model to the learning outcomes of Civic Education (PKn) of grade V students of SD Inpres I Tobelo, North Halmahera. This study was motivated by the low involvement and achievement of students in Civic Education learning. The inquiry learning model was applied to stimulate critical thinking, active participation, and student responsibility, which aims to improve their understanding of the concept of citizenship and foster democratic attitudes. This study used a qualitative descriptive approach, which included observation, interviews, and testing to assess the impact of the inquiry model. The findings showed a significant increase in student learning outcomes, with higher participation, better understanding of the concept of citizenship, and stronger critical thinking skills. This study contributes to educational practice by advocating inquiry-based learning as an effective strategy to engage students and improve educational outcomes, especially in remote areas such as North Halmahera.

Abstract

School principal leadership plays a critical role in improving the quality of education, particularly in supporting teacher performance and career development. However, challenges such as the aging of teachers nearing retirement, limited technological resources, and administrative burdens often hinder the effective implementation of leadership. This study aims to analyze the influence of school principal leadership on the performance and career interest of elementary school teachers in Sumber Harta District, South Sumatra. A qualitative research method with a case study approach was employed. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and document analysis involving school principals and teachers as informants. The data analysis process included data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that principals provide support through supervision, training, informal motivation, and access to information related to teacher certification. A total of 80% of teachers reported that school leadership improved their performance, while 75% expressed similar sentiments regarding career development. Nevertheless, issues related to teacher age and the limitations of technological infrastructure remain significant obstacles.

Abstract

This study aims to implement the Restitution Triangle method as an effective strategy in reducing juvenile delinquency in the school environment, especially at SDN 4 Wonosari, Musi Rawas, South Sumatra. The Restitution Triangle method is a restorative approach that involves collaboration between the school, parents, and children as the main actors in the process of recovery and prevention of delinquency. This study uses a descriptive quantitative approach with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and questionnaires to students, teachers, and parents during the study period. In its application, this method focuses on open dialogue, moral responsibility, and a recovery process that involves all related parties to build children's awareness of the impact of their actions and repair damaged social relationships. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of the Restitution Triangle Method is significantly able to reduce the level of student delinquency, improve communication between schools and parents, and form more positive and responsible behavior among children. This implementation also shows an increase in students' moral awareness and empathy towards their families and the surrounding community. Based on these findings, it is suggested that this method can be routinely integrated into character education programs and child behavior management in elementary schools to create a healthy, safe, and understanding learning environment. This study contributes to the development of discipline strategies based on a restorative approach and is able to reduce child delinquency effectively.

Abstract

Purpose of the study: This study aims to identify and analyze the factors that cause teachers to be reluctant to accept the position of principal. Methodology: The study employed a descriptive qualitative approach with a case study design involving six teachers at an elementary school in Musi Rawas. Data were obtained through in-depth interviews, non-participant observations, and document analysis. Analysis followed the Miles and Huberman interactive model, encompassing data reduction, display, and conclusion drawing. Data validity was ensured through triangulation of sources. Main Findings: The results of the study show that internal factors such as low self-confidence, time constraints, and lack of managerial experience, as well as external factors such as administrative burden, low institutional support, and an organizational culture that is not yet conducive, are the main obstacles for teachers in accepting the position of principal. Teachers also revealed that lack of role models and unclear career progression pathways became psychological barriers that affected their leadership interest. Novelty/Originality of this study: This study contributes original insights by uncovering teacher decision-making patterns in declining principal positions within rural elementary schools. It also proposes strategic, context-specific interventions to enhance teachers’ leadership readiness and support their transition into school management roles.

Abstract

Purpose of the study: This research aims to examine the transformation of teachers' roles in facing the challenges of implementing the Independent Curriculum in elementary schools and understand how teachers adapt to these educational changes. Methodology: This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with exploratory case study design. Data collection methods include direct classroom observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation studies involving teachers actively implementing the Independent Curriculum in elementary schools. Main Findings: Teachers face significant obstacles in understanding learning outcomes, implementing project-based learning, and utilizing learning technology optimally. Despite available training programs, teacher participation remains sporadic with limited impact on practice changes. Teachers respond through self-training strategies, informal collaboration, and pedagogical reflection, though lacking institutional mentoring support. Role transformation occurs contextually and gradually, depending on individual initiative and school environment support. Novelty/Originality of this study: This research contributes by uncovering teacher role dynamics in marginalized schools previously underexplored in Independent Curriculum studies, providing insights for developing contextual, collaborative, and sustainable teacher capacity building policies.
