Abstract

The conversion of agricultural land into residential areas will have an impact on the need for clean water which contains various metal contaminants such as iron. One of them is the Randu Housing, Sumberejo Village, Sukodono District, Lumajang Regency, which is one of the many housing estates built from former rice fields. This study aims to analyze the effect of using types of aerators, namely cascade aerators and bubble aerators with a variety of filter media using dune sand and river sand with a discharge of 1 liter/minute. This type of research uses an experimental method which is carried out on a laboratory scale. The results showed the percentage reduction in Fe content in aeration treatment using cascade aerator and bubble aerator was 14,55% and 2,16%, sedimentation treatment was 3.34%, and filtration treatment using dune sand and river sand filter media was 81,85% and 89.13%. The results of the analysis showed that the variables of the cascade aerator, dune sand filter and river sand filter had a significant relationship with the decrease in iron content. While the relationship that does not have a significant effect is the bubble aerator and sedimentation variables. Keywords: Aeration, Sedimentation, Filtration and Iron (Fe)

Abstract

The Frequency Ratio (FR) method combined with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) was applied to map groundwater potential in the Bedadung Watershed, Jember Regency, Indonesia. The study was conducted from September 2024 to January 2025 by analyzing 136 spring locations across an area of 9,590.83 km². The main objectives were to identify factors influencing groundwater potential, validate the predictive model using the Area Under the Curve (AUC) method, and produce a detailed groundwater potential map. A total of 14 environmental parameters were considered, including Elevation, slope, and vegetation density. Model validation produced an AUC value of 73.8%, indicating a good level of predictive accuracy. The highest groundwater potential was observed in the sub-districts of Sukorambi, Arjasa, Sukowono, and Kalisat, where more than 50% of the area falls into the very high potential category. In contrast, Panti Sub-district demonstrated limited groundwater availability, with 59% of its area classified as low to very low potential. The resulting groundwater potential map was classified into five categories: very low, low, moderate, high, and very high. These findings provide a scientific basis for sustainable water resource management, emphasizing conservation strategies in high-potential areas and infrastructure development in low-potential zones. The effectiveness of the FR method in spatial analysis is reaffirmed, offering valuable insights for groundwater management in the Bedadung Watershed.

Abstract

This design to make the organic materials crusher machine which its structure can be made easy and cheap by society, and can be operated simply, moved by gasoline engine 6.5 hp own the ability can can break the permanent organic materials upon which compost. This activity  divisible in 2 solution framework that is technical solution framework and solution non technical. Technical Approach: approach to society of orchard Togung by attending method/machine to processes and dissociate the materials type so that heaping sum up the deductible materials. Approach of non technical: approach to citizen by guiding and growing to develop the society awareness about its important keep cleaning environmental and sanitation. From final this activity inferential that: making of organic materials crusher machine earn the especial problems faced by group society orchard of Togung subdistrict Sempu Banyuwangi. Making of enforceable organic materials.  Machine better as according to time plan which have been determined, Especial problems partner concerning materials processing with the this machine attendance expected depending to on duty deductible subdistrict Sempu hygiene and created  society of self manage materials. Result from this materials processing machine in the form  organic materials upon which compost of the size 2-3 cm and organic materials process become the compost used by farmer group, so that indirectly can improve the earnings of society of orchard Togung and permeating new labour.
