Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya keterampilan guru dalam memanfaatkan media pembelajaran berbasis teknologi di SMP Plus Kasih Ibu. Tujuannya adalah meningkatkan keterampilan guru dalam membuat dan menggunakan media pembelajaran berbasis Android. Metode yang digunakan adalah sosialisasi dan pelatihan yang melibatkan 14 guru sebagai peserta. Evaluasi dilakukan melalui pre-test dan post-test menggunakan kuesioner. Hasil menunjukkan peningkatan skor rata-rata dari 38,86 menjadi 70,14, yang mencerminkan peningkatan pemahaman sebesar 80,51%. Kegiatan ini memberikan dampak positif terhadap peningkatan keterampilan digital guru dan kualitas pembelajaran di kelas.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keaktifan dan hasil belajar siswa kelas V SDN 066666 Medan Denai pada mata pelajaran Pendidikan Pancasila dengan menggunakan model Project Based Learning. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus, di mana masing-masing siklus terdiri atas tahapan perencanaan, pelaksanaan tindakan, observasi, dan refleksi. Subjek penelitian adalah 25 siswa kelas V SD. Instrumen pengumpulan data berupa observasi keaktifan siswa yang diukur melalui lima indikator utama, yakni bertanya, menjawab pertanyaan, diskusi kelompok, presentasi hasil diskusi dan penguasaan materi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan pada setiap siklus, dimana rata-rata skor keaktifan siswa meningkat dari 11,48 (45,92%) pada pra-tindakan menjadi 16,48 (66%) pada siklus I, dan mencapai 21,24 (84,96%) pada siklus II. Peningkatan ini membuktikan bahwa penerapan model PJBL efektif dalam mendorong partisipasi aktif dan kolaborasi siswa dalam pembelajaran. Dengan demikian, model pembelajaran Project Based Learning direkomendasikan untuk digunakan sebagai strategi pembelajaran yang mampu meningkatkan keaktifan dan kualitas pembelajaran di sekolah dasar.

Abstract

This study investigates the effect of the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model integrated with Educaplay media on students’ motivation in learning Newton’s Laws. A quasi-experimental quantitative design was employed, involving an experimental class and a control class. Data were collected through achievement tests and motivation questionnaires, and analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. The findings show a substantial increase in students’ motivation in the experimental class, reaching 81.5%, compared to 68.7% in the control class. The hypothesis test yielded a significance value of 0.001 < 0.05, indicating a significant positive effect of the PjBL–Educaplay integration. Unlike previous studies focusing on general digital media effectiveness, this study highlights the specific advantage of combining PjBL with interactive platforms to enhance motivation in physics learning

Abstract

This study investigates the impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) integration in Project-Based Learning (PjBL) within a Basic Science Concepts course, specifically focusing on the paradox between student perceptions and actual learning performance. A quantitative comparative design was employed, involving pre-service teachers divided into AI-reliant and non-AI groups. Data were collected through Likert-scale questionnaires and project product assessment rubrics, then analyzed using the Mann–Whitney U test. The results reveal a significant disparity: while the AI group reported significantly higher perceptions of learning effectiveness and teamwork satisfaction, their actual product quality and conceptual depth in science were lower than those of the non-AI group. This suggests that AI integration may create an illusion of competence, where ease of information access reduces the depth of critical inquiry and collaborative synthesis. The study concludes that AI should function as a guided cognitive tool rather than a primary source in science education. These findings offer critical implications for educators to design AI-integrated PjBL that prioritizes conceptual understanding over technological convenience.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kurangnya literasi sains mahasiswa dalam mata kuliah fisika dasar. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mendesain media pembelajaran mata kuliah fisika dasar berbasis Android untuk meningkatkan literasi sains mahasiswa. Media ini didesain menggunakan power point dan iSpring terlebih dahulu. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan atau Research and Development (R&D) yang diadaptasi dari model pengembangan ADDIE, dengan tahapan yaitu: 1) Analysis (Analisis), 2) Design (Perancangan), 3) Development (Pengembangan), 4) Implementation (Implementasi), dan 5) Evaluation (Evaluasi), namun hanya dilaksanakan hingga tahap ketiga yaitu pengembangan. Hasil pengujian validitas materi dan media pembelajaran berbasis Android menunjukkan bahwa media pembelajaran tersebut valid.

Abstract

Program KKN Kolaboratif UMN-AW 44 di Desa Sukorejo, Kecamatan Sei Balai, Kabupaten Batu Bara dilaksanakan sebagai upaya penguatan kesehatan masyarakat dan kebersihan lingkungan melalui penyuluhan pencegahan stunting serta inovasi pemanfaatan kotoran sapi menjadi pupuk organik. Latar belakang kegiatan ini berangkat dari tingginya angka stunting di desa, yakni terdapat 47 balita terindikasi stunting, serta rendahnya kesadaran masyarakat terhadap pola hidup bersih dan sehat. Metode pelaksanaan program meliputi observasi, sosialisasi, edukasi interaktif, dan demonstrasi. Program utama terdiri dari penyuluhan pencegahan stunting dan pemberian MPASI, pengolahan kotoran sapi menjadi pupuk organik, serta KKN Mengajar di SD Negeri 18 Sukorejo. Hasil program menunjukkan adanya peningkatan kesadaran masyarakat terkait pemenuhan gizi dan kebersihan lingkungan, keberhasilan produksi pupuk organik dengan tingkat partisipasi tinggi, serta antusiasme siswa dalam menerapkan pola hidup bersih sehat. Persentase keberhasilan masing-masing program mencapai 96–100%. Program ini membuktikan bahwa pendekatan edukatif dan inovatif berbasis masyarakat mampu mendorong perubahan perilaku, menurunkan faktor risiko stunting, dan menciptakan nilai tambah ekonomi melalui pengelolaan limbah ternak.

Abstract

Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengkaji efek model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Group Investigation (GI) yang dibantu oleh media PhET terhadap pemahaman konsep mahasiswa pada mata kuliah Fisika Terapan. Jenis penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain eksperimen semu. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari mahasiswa semester pertama yang mengambil mata kuliah Fisika Terapan di Prodi Nautika. Mahasiswa dibagi menjadi dua kelas yakni kelas eksperimen menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe GI dengan bantuan media PhET, dan kelas kontrol yang menggunakan metode pembelajaran konvensional. Instrumen penelitian berupa tes pemahaman konsep yang telah divalidasi dan diuji reliabilitasnya. Analisis data dilakukan dengan menggunakan uji t untuk mengetahui perbedaan signifikan antara kelompok eksperimen dan kelompok kontrol. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan dalam pemahaman konsep antara kedua kelas. Kelas eksperimen yang menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe GI dengan bantuan media PhET menunjukkan peningkatan pemahaman konsep yang lebih baik dibandingkan dengan kelompok kontrol. Temuan ini mengindikasikan bahwa penggunaan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe GI yang didukung oleh media PhET efektif dalam meningkatkan pemahaman konsep mahasiswa pada mata kuliah Fisika Terapan. Oleh karena itu, disarankan agar pendidik mempertimbangkan penerapan model pembelajaran ini dalam proses pengajaran untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar mahasiswa.

Abstract

Advancements in educational technology necessitate a transformation in higher education instructional strategies, particularly for science-based courses such as Astronomy. Research from 2024 indicates that the Stellarium application significantly enhances students' conceptual understanding in Astronomy. However, the use of this technology has not yet been systematically integrated into active learning models like Project-Based Learning (PjBL). Therefore, this study aims to develop and implement a Stellarium-based PjBL model to improve the astronomy literacy and learning autonomy of Physics Education students. This research employed a quantitative method with a pre-experimental design using a one-group pretest-posttest design. The subjects of this study were 30 students. The instrument used was a learning outcome test consisting of pretest and posttest. The results showed that the average pretest score was 52.27 and increased to 81.17 in the posttest, with an improvement of 28.90 points. The hypothesis test using a paired sample t-test showed a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.05), indicating a significant difference between pretest and posttest scores. The N-Gain value of 0.61 was categorized as moderate, indicating that the learning model was sufficiently effective in improving learning outcomes. In addition, the effect size value of 1.45 was categorized as large, indicating a strong effect of the learning model. Therefore, it can be concluded that the implementation of the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model is effective in improving students' learning outcomes in astronomy material.

Abstract

Problem-Based Learning has received increasing attention as an instructional approach capable of fostering higher-order thinking, meaningful knowledge construction, and learner autonomy within primary education. Persistent reliance on teacher-centered instruction continues to limit students’ opportunities to develop conceptual understanding and apply knowledge to authentic problem situations. This study aimed to examine the effectiveness of Problem-Based Learning in enhancing conceptual understanding and problem-solving skills among primary school students. A mixed-methods sequential explanatory design was employed involving 920 students from twelve elementary schools. Quantitative data were collected using validated assessments of conceptual understanding, problem-solving skills, critical thinking, cognitive engagement, collaborative learning, self-regulated learning, and academic achievement, and analyzed through repeated-measures analysis of variance, generalized linear mixed-effects modeling, structural equation modeling, mediation analysis, and hierarchical regression. Qualitative evidence was obtained through interviews, classroom observations, teacher reflective journals, and instructional document analysis, followed by thematic interpretation. Findings revealed significant improvements in conceptual understanding, problem-solving performance, critical thinking, collaborative learning, cognitive engagement, and academic achievement among students participating in Problem-Based Learning. Conceptual understanding emerged as the strongest predictor of problem-solving ability, while teacher scaffolding and self-regulated learning significantly strengthened inquiry processes and sustained learning outcomes. Results indicate that effective Problem-Based Learning depends on the integration of authentic problem scenarios, collaborative inquiry, structured teacher guidance, reflective learning, and supportive classroom environments. The proposed instructional framework offers practical guidance for improving meaningful learning and higher-order thinking in primary education.

Abstract

This study aimed to examine the effect of the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model integrated with PhET virtual laboratory media on students’ science process skills at MAS Insan Kesuma Madani. The research employed a quasi-experimental design with purposive sampling technique. The participants were divided into an experimental class and a control class. Data were collected using a science process skills test instrument. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics with parametric tests. The findings revealed that the experimental class obtained a higher average N-Gain score (47.5) compared to the control class (20.2). This result indicates a moderate improvement in the experimental group. The hypothesis testing showed a significant difference between the two classes (Sig. 2-tailed = 0.000 < 0.05). These findings confirm that the implementation of the PjBL model integrated with PhET has a positive and significant effect on students’ science process skills. Therefore, this learning model is effective in enhancing students’ science process skills, particularly on the topic of work and energy.
