Abstract

Background: The T2 and PD sequences are the most sensitive sequences in evaluating injury to the ACL and surrounding soft tissue. Based on observations at the Radiology Installation of Dr. Sardjito Hospital Yogyakarta, the anatomical information generated in the MRI knee joint examination of the PD SPACE FS sequence is almost the same as the T2 SPACE FS sequence. The purpose of this study is to determine the differences in anatomical information and optimal sequences on MRI examination of the knee joint sagittal section sequences of PD SPACE FS and T2 SPACE FS in clinical ACL rupture.Method: This research was a quantitative study with an experimental approach, carried out at the Radiology Installation of Dr. Sardjito Hospital Yogyakarta on 10 samples with the application of different sequences for each sample, with the anatomy assessed by the informant namely ACL, meniscus, articular cartilage, and bone marrow. Further data analysis was carried out using the Wilcoxon test. Result: There was a difference in anatomical information between PD SPACE FS sequences and T2 SPACE FS sequences on MRI examination of the sagittal knee joint with clinical ACL rupture, with the ρ-value of the Wilcoxon test 0.001 or ρ-value<0.05. This was due to differences in the use of TR and TE parameters in each sequence. The PD SPACE FS sequence was more optimal in visualizing anatomical information than the T2 SPACE FS sequence with an anatomical mean rank of meniscus 3.50, articular cartilage 3.50, and bone marrow 5.50, whereas in ACL anatomy the mean rank value was the same between the two sequences, which is 2.00. Conclusion: It was because the PD SPACE FS sequence had a more heterogeneous contrast difference than the T2 SPACE FS sequence so each anatomy could be well evaluated in the PD SPACE FS sequence.

Abstract

Background: Clinical CT-Scan Examination and Noise Reduction in Hydronephrosis. Non-contrast CT-Scan examination is used to diagnose hydronephrosis and enhance diagnostic information in CT Urology tracking. However, CT Urography images often contain high noise levels due to examination parameters and patient size variations, which can obscure small anatomical details like the ureter. To improve image quality, reconstruction algorithms such as Filtered Back Projection (FBP) and Iterative Reconstruction (IR), particularly SAFIRE, are used alongside denoising techniques to reduce noise while preserving diagnostic information.This research aims to find the most optimal reconstruction algorithm for processing images regarding ureter anatomical information in tracking CT Urology techniques for clinical hydronephrosis.Methods: This is a quasi-experiment using the static group comparison method. Non-contrast CT (NCCT) Urology examination images in hydronephrosis patients were processed with FBP and SAFIRE strength 3 reconstruction algorithms. Assessment of anatomical image information analysis was conducted quantitatively by measuring noise and assessing anatomical information by respondents.Results: The results of this study are differences in anatomical information on Urology CT tracking images with variations in FBP and SAFIRE reconstruction algorithms with a p-value of 0.00 < (0.05 The study results showed significant differences in ureter anatomical information between CT Urology tracking images reconstructed with FBP and SAFIRE algorithms (p-value = 0.00 < 0.05). The alternative hypothesis was accepted, indicating that SAFIRE is more effective than FBP in reducing noise in CT Urology tracking images.Conclusions: SAFIRE produces higher image quality and lower noise in non-contrast CT Urology.

Abstract

Background: The use of Viewdex as a tool for radiographic image evaluation has limitations in flexibility for students, particularly in the installation and input of DICOM ACR image results, which can be complex. This study aims to: (1) Evaluate the performance of the CT Scan training application for the Applied Bachelor Program in Radiologic Imaging Technology at Poltekkes Kemenkes Semarang, based on ViewDex; (2) Develop a web-integrated CT Scan quality control training application based on the ACR Phantom; (3) Measure the performance of the web-integrated CT Scan quality control training application based on the ACR Phantom.Methods: The research method used is Research and Development (R&D), which includes literature study, product development, field testing, evaluation, and product revision. The developed application simplifies the process of importing DICOM data, coding questions, and automatic evaluation, thus improving operational efficiency.Results: Validation by IT and QA/QC experts shows that the application meets high standards with 100% validity. Blackbox testing, which includes general functionality, security, compatibility, performance, usability, dashboard, and user interface, showed that the application is valid and operates well without significant errors. Performance evaluation through pre-test and post-test indicated a significant improvement in participants' knowledge and skills, with the Wilcoxon test yielding a p-value of 0.005, indicating a significant difference between conditions before and after using the application.Conclusions: in conclusion, the developed application is effective and efficient in enhancing student usability and learning experience, overcoming the limitations of Viewdex. This application enables efficient management and analysis of medical images and data, making it well-prepared to support CT quality control training with high-quality standards.

Abstract

Hipertensi, Diabetes Mellitus (DM), Penyakit Paru Obstruktif Kronis (PPOK), dan Penyakit Kardiovaskuler (PKV) adalah jenis Penyakit Tidak Menular (PTM) yang menjadi penyebab utama kematian global. Selain intervensi konvensional, penggunaan Tanaman Obat Keluarga (TOGA) juga terbukti efektif sebagai usaha preventif. Sehingga perlu adanya edukasi bagi masyarakat sebagai bentuk pemberdayaan masyarakat agar lebih peduli kesehatan dan memanfaatkan tanaman obat keluarga sebagai solusi murah, mudah, dan tepat guna untuk mencegah peningkatan PTM. Kegiatan ini diikuti oleh ibu-ibu PKK RW XX Kelurahan Meteseh Tembalang di Balai RW XX Kelurahan Meteseh Tembalang pada periode bulan Mei – Desember 2023. Tahapan kegiatan terdiri dari 3 tahapan yaitu tahap persiapan (kegiatan survei dan observasi untuk mengidentifikasi PTM serta jenis TOGA yang tersedia di masyarakat, persipan media edukasi, dan koordinasi dengan kader masyaraka), tahap pelaksanaan (cek kesehatan, pre-test, sambutan, edukasi, konseling, tanya jawab, pemberian doorprize, senam bersama, dan post-test), dan tahap evaluasi (analisis hasil pre-test dan postest, serta evaluasi kegiatan). Hasil survei dan observasi terdapat 15 jenis TOGA yang umum dimanfaatkan masyarakat setempat yaitu sirih, kunyit, jahe, binahong, dan lain-lain. Peserta yang terdiri dari 48 masyarakt menunjukkan antusiasme tinggi, ditunjukkan dengan kehadiran penuh pada setiap kegiatan. Rata-rata hasil evaluasi masyarakat berada di kategori baik hingga sangat baik dengan peningkatan pengetahuan lebih dari 35%.

Abstract

Latar belakang: Kualitas citra pada ultrasonografi abdomen menurun secara signifikan pada pasien dengan indeks massa tubuh (BMI) tinggi akibat redaman akustik oleh jaringan adiposa. Keterbatasan ini mempengaruhi akurasi diagnostik penyakit kandung empedu, termasuk kolelitiasis, kolesistitis, dan polip. Tissue Harmonic Imaging (THI) dikembangkan untuk mengatasi degradasi citra dengan memanfaatkan propagasi gelombang non-linier yang menghasilkan frekuensi harmonik berkoherensi tinggi. Tujuan: Mengevaluasi secara kuantitatif dampak THI terhadap tiga parameter utama kualitas citra ultrasonografi kandung empedu ketajaman dinding anterior, penekanan artefak intra-lumen, dan kejelasan margin lesi pada pasien kelebihan berat badan. Metode: Studi komparatif berpasangan dilakukan pada 100 pasien BMI >25 kg/m² di Tirta Medical Center (Mei–Juni 2023). Setiap peserta menjalani dua urutan pencitraan berurutan: non-THI (fundamental imaging) dan THI, dengan parameter teknis yang distandarisasi. Dua radiolog independen menilai total 200 citra menggunakan skala ordinal empat tingkat (1–4). Hasil: THI menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan pada seluruh parameter dibandingkan non-THI. Ketajaman dinding anterior mencapai skor 2–3 pada 86% citra THI, sementara non-THI didominasi skor 1–2 (94%). Penekanan artefak internal meningkat drastis, dengan THI mencapai skor tertinggi (4) pada 52% citra dibanding 21% pada non-THI. Kejelasan lesi juga lebih baik pada THI (80% skor 3) dibanding non-THI (44% skor 3). Kesimpulan: THI secara konsisten meningkatkan kualitas citra ultrasonografi kandung empedu pada pasien kelebihan berat badan melalui peningkatan resolusi spasial, kontras, dan penekanan artefak. Temuan ini mendukung penggunaan THI sebagai protokol pencitraan standar untuk evaluasi hepatobilier pada populasi dengan BMI tinggi.
