Abstract

The RQA (reading, questioning, and answering) learning model is an active learning model that emphasizes reading, asking, and answering. This study aims to determine the application of reading, questioning, and answering (RQA) learning strategies in improving student learning outcomes in class XI SMA N 6 Kerinci. This research is a type of quantitative research with experimental methods. The research population came from class XI SMA N 6 Kerinci, amounting to 44 people. The sample came from class XI MIPA 2, which amounted to 22 people. The sampling technique in this research is the random sampling technique. Data collection techniques in the form of observation and tests. The test is used to see student learning outcomes using reading, questioning, and answering (RQA) learning strategies. The research instrument is a test in the form of objective questions totalling 30 items carried out for validity, reliability, difficulty index and discriminatory power. Data analysis technique using T-test and N-Gain. The results showed that 1) the results of the study before applying the RQA strategy the highest score of students was 70 and the lowest score was 40 with an average pretest score of 51.59, 2) student learning outcomes after implementing the RQA learning strategy obtained the highest score of 90 and the lowest score of 65 with the result the average posttest is 78.18, 3) there is a significant difference in the application of the RQA strategy in improving student learning outcomes in class XI SMA N 6 Kerinci. Keywords:   Strategy of RQA, Learning Outcomes,

Abstract

This research aims to increase students’ learning motivation by developing a Problem-Based Learning learning design using the flipped classroom model. This research uses an approach that is part of non-experimental quantitative research. The sampling technique used purposive sampling. This research was measured using a learning motivation observation sheet in the form of a motivation rubric. Increased motivation was analysed based on a questionnaire based on the ARCS rubric. This research shows increased motivation in the learning process with the flipped classroom model and problem-based learning design. At the attention stage, there was an increase in student motivation by 13% from the first meeting to the second meeting and a rise of 6% from the second meeting to the third meeting. In the relevance aspect, there was an increase of 26% from meeting one to meeting two and 3% from meeting two to meeting three. Then, part of confidence, from the first to the second meeting, there was an increase of 9%, and from the second to the third meeting, it increased by 10%. Finally, in the aspect of satisfaction from meeting one to meeting two, there was an increase of 9%. Moreover, from meeting two to meeting three, there was an increase of 12%. It was concluded that the average increase in student motivation from the first lesson to the third lesson was 3% to 13%. In the future, further attention is needed on the affective and psychomotor aspects.

Abstract

Corruption is a serious problem for many countries in the world, especially developing countries. This systematic literature review (SLR) aims to analyze anti-corruption education in Indonesia, Malaysia, and Singapore from the aspects of policy and practice. The literature review model used is PRISMA which produces 70 articles that meet the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The analysis results show that anti-corruption education policies in the three countries are contained in written regulations, such as government regulations and regulations of the ministry of education. In addition, corruption eradication institutions in each country also make policies regarding corruption prevention through learning in schools and universities. The practice of preventing corruption through education in Indonesia and Malaysia is almost the same, namely through internalization of anti-corruption values into specific subjects, while Singapore places more emphasis on character education which is implemented using a particular curriculum. Even though the methods used are almost the same, Singapore is the country with the third-lowest level of corruption rate in the world. Legal products and their good application and high public awareness are the factors that influence them. Prevention of corruption is not enough only to be pursued by the government, but it needs the support of all parties, such as parents and society.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to improve learning outcomes in the form of cognitive abilities and student learning motivation through the development of the learning design Problem-Based Learning within flipped classroom model. The study used quasi-experimental research with One Group Pretest-Post Test Design. In the research process, instruments are needed in the form of (1) multiple-choice tests as instructional cognitive measurements of students, and (2) observation sheets of learning motivation measurements in the form of motivational rubrics developed based on arcs rubrics. The increased motivation was analyzed based on the results of the questionnaire produced based on the ARCS rubric develop the results of student learning (post-test) are calculated using the t-test and then continued with the conclusion of the learning hypothesis. Based on the hypothesis test, it was found that 0.000 <0.005, it can be concluded that there is a real difference between learning outcomes in the pretest and posttest data. This result means that the application of this learning method can improve the learning outcomes of students. In addition, there is an increase in motivation in the learning process with flipped classrooms and problem-based learning design. Increased student motivation in the learning process I to learning III by 3% to 13%. But from this study, it is expected that there will be further research using the same model in other subjects and by using a larger sample and taking measurements on affective and psychomotor aspects

Abstract

Science learning in higher education is often detached from students' cultural context, thus reducing the relevance of the material and scientific concepts being learned. This study aims to examine how student involvement in a biosynthesis experiment of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) from Plantago major L. and its antibacterial activity testing can improve students' understanding and attitudes regarding cultural context and science content. The study used a mixed-methods approach involving 34 Biology students in a series of laboratory activities, pretest-posttest knowledge evaluations, and narrative reflections. The characterization results showed an absorbance peak of AgNPs at 460 nm and indicated nanoparticles with uniform size. Meanwhile, AgNPs showed higher antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus than Salmonella typhi. Bayesian paired t-test analysis showed a significant increase in students' knowledge scores, and narrative reflections revealed a strengthening of attitudes towards recognizing culture as a source of science learning. These findings indicate that local resource-based laboratory learning activities are not only biologically relevant but also effective in shaping students' scientific understanding and are culturally meaningful.
