Abstract

Paraserianthes falcataria are fast growing trees in the tropical and has many benefits economically. In order to avoid seeds of Paraserianthes falcataria not decrease the quality of seeds during storage. Seed treatment is necessary to keep the seeds able to survive until the time of planting by using Piper betle Linn. leaf as an antiseptic and disinfectant. The purpose of this study to determine the effect of submursion seeds in water Piper betle Linn. leaf on the quality of seed germination and to know the optimum time to submursion seeds in water  Piper betle Linn. leaf to maintain the quality of seeds Paraserianthes falcataria. This research was conducted by using completely randomized design (CRD), which consists of 4 treatments and 4 replications. Treatment consists of: P10 = Submursion seeds Paraserianthes falcataria use Piper betle Linn. leaf water for 10 minutes; P20 = Submursion seeds Paraserianthes falcataria use Piper betle Linn. leaf water for 20 minutes; P30 = Submursion seeds Paraserianthes falcataria use Piper betle Linn. leaf water for 30 minutes; P40 = Submursion seeds Paraserianthes falcataria use Piper betle Linn. leaf water for 40 minutes. Research has shown that submursion seeds with water Piper betle Linn. leaf is able to improve the quality of seeds Paraserianthes falcataria during storage and the optimal time of submursion seeds for 30 minutes is the best treatment on seed germination percentage (62%), speed seed germinated (3.05 days), and increase seedling height (6.44 cm).   Keywords :  Paraserianthes falcataria, Piper betle Linn., Seed quality.

Abstract

Shorealeprosula included major timber producing tree and widely used include the use of such, plywood, sawn timber, and buildings of contruction.Shorealeprosulaproductiondecreasedamount, becausemost of the production comes fromnatural forests. The cultivation needed so shorealeprosula not become extinct, for it is important in the provision of quality seedlings. Shorealeprosula includedsemi tolerant types that require low light intensity for early growth. The nursery needed microclimate modification that environment conditionaccording to the requirement growing seedlings shorealeprosula.Alternativemade is bygivingshadeinthe nurseryShorealeprosula. This research aimstodetermine the effect ofshadeon the successandthe intensity ofthe shadeis best, on the growth ofseedlingsShorealeprosula the medium topsoil and compost mixture ratio 1:1.This research uses a completely randomize design method which consist of 5 treatments, 3 replications, and 5 units of the plant as a research unit.P0 = Without giving shade; P1 = the provision of shade level of 45%; P2 = the provision of shade level of 60%; P3 = the provision of shade level of 90%. The result indicates that treatment giving shade level of 90% is the best treatment on the parameters of observation, the high increasing (2,24 cm), the diameter increasing (1,2 mm) for seedlings Shorealeprosula in medium topsoil and compost mixture ratio 1:1. Abstract

Forest is a natural resource which has an usefull existency to life. Development on plantation of industrial forest (HTI) needs to choose a kind of suitable plant which Eucalyptus pellita is the one that can be easily adapted. Stumps of Eucalyptus pellita from residual logging in the head office of University of Riau area produces coppices which can be a source of vegetative multiplication of plant. The aim of this research is to perceive a potential of the third generation of coppices which are able to grow in one stump of Eucalyptus pellita residual logging and to perceive the growth of the third generation of coppices on the stump of residual logging. This research exercises using an observation method. This specimen taken exercises a purpossive sampling method. The result of this observation indicates that coppices which grow on the stump of  Eucalyptus pellita residual logging have a potential in avarage amount of 9 coppices in each stump so that can be produced aprroximately 14.400 coppices/ha in a grow distance 2.5m x 2.5 m. This third generation has an average amount of 60 pieces of leaves in each stump and 10,5 cm high average accretion in 8 day measurement. Keywords:Eucalyptus pellita, Coppice, Growth.

Abstract

Many trees find in the forest. One of trees is Adenanthera pavonina L. The part of Adenanthera pavonina L. such as seeds, leafs, and woods still used. One benefit of Adenanthera pavonina L. seeds are for cultivation. There are some obstacles on Adenanthera pavonina L. germination where the seeds still has dormancy period. To break the dormancy could be used water The aim of this research was to investigated the effect of water submerged time and investigated the best of water submerged time to Adenanthera pavonina L. germination. This research was arrange on Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 3 repeatizations. The treatments was the submergence time which was 24, 48, 72 and 96 hours. The test of the similarity range were done by SAS 9.13 Portable furthermore the comparison of average values were done by Duncan New’s Multiple Range Test (DNMRT) with a 5% confidence interval. The results of this research showed that Adenanthera pavonina L. seeds has effected to water submerged time. The effect of submerged time of seedAdenanthera pavonina L. for 72 hours was the best percentation of capacity germination at 32,66%, germination of seed at 29,33% and rate of seed germination at 6,6 days. Abstract

Acacia mangium is a comodity of plantation industry that has been developed. To get a good quality of Acacia mangium must use proper cultivation techniques. Mycorrhizae and Trichoderma spp. can improve seedling growth and suppresses pathogenic soil, but need to know the potential time to apply. This research aim to know the potential application of mycorrhizal time and Trichoderma spp. to increase seedling growth. This research used a completely randomized design (CRD), which consists of 4 treatments, 5 replications and each replication consisted of 10 seedlings. The treatments used were T1 = Trichoderma spp. the S-3 and mycorrhiza on S-1, T2 = Trichoderma spp. the S-1 and S-3 mycorrhiza on, T3 = Trichoderma spp. and mycorrhiza on the S-3, T4 = Trichoderma spp. and mycorrhiza on the S-1, where S = the seedlings were transferred to polybags. Responses were measured to observe the effect of the lived seedlings, height of seedling, diameter of seedlings, plant dry weight and the ratio of the crown / root. The results of this research shows that the application of Trichoderma spp. in three days before weaning and mycorrhiza in one day before weaning tend to show better results in the growth of Acacia mangium seedlings. Abstract

Diversityof tree speciescan be foundin the forest. One of diversity of tree species is Adenanthera pavonina L. Adenanthera pavonina L. used tree parts such as seed, leaves andwood. One of the seed used forcultivation. Germination of Adenanthera pavonina L. still thereobstacles which Adenanthera pavonina L. Seed has dormanty time. Skerification can be used by Sulfuric Acid (H2SO4). This research aims to find out seed immersion effect used H2SO4 and  knowing better seed immersion time of germination Adenanthera pavonina L. This research compiled in Completely Randomize Design (CRD) with3treatments and 3 replications. The treatment inthis study wasa longtimeimmersionfor 10 minutes, 20minutes and30minutes. Datawere analyzedbyanalysis of varianceusingPortableSAS.9.1.3. Subsequentlyfollowed bymultiplerange testDNMRTlevel of 5%. Research resultsobtainedisa longtimeimmersioneffect onseed germinationsaga. The length of timeit is best toseedimmersionfor 30minuteswith germinationof48.66%, germinationpercentage ofthe seeds of 32,66%andthe seedsgerminateaverageof 6.75days. Abstract

Paraserianthes falcataria (L.) Nielsen is a fast-growing plant species that has been widely recognized by society in the development of forest plantations. Paraserianthes falcataria (L.) Nielsen has many uses ranging from leaves, stems to the roots. People generally just let the Paraserianthes falcataria (L.) Nielsen seeds grow naturally without making the treatment of the seeds. Seed treatment is by using plants that contain a disinfectant or antiseptic, and easily found around the neighborhood, including the Piper betle Linn. plant. This research aimed to determine the effect of soaking Piper betle Linn. leaves on the quality of the seed and determine the length of immersion Piper betle Linn. leaf which is optimal to protect seed quality. The research was compiled in a completely randomized design (CRD) with 5 treatments and 4 replications. The treatment consisted of soaking Paraserianthes falcataria (L.) Nielsen seeds with water immersion of Piper betle Linn. leaves for 10 minutes, 20 minutes, 30 minutes, 40 minutes and 50 minutes. Data were analyzed by analysis of variance using SAS 9.1.3 Portable. And than, continued with DNMRT double distance test at 5% level. The research results showed that the duration of Piper betle Linn. leaf soaking has an effect on seed germination and improve the quality of seeds during storage. The optimal time for Piper betle Linn. leaf soaking is 30 minutes with germination percentage of 86.00%, germination speed of 2.73 days and seed germination time of 8 days. Keywords: Paraserianthes falcataria (L.) Abstract

Aquilaria malaccensis is one of the plants used for peatland restoration activities. Provision of quality A.malaccensis seeds is needed in conservation activities. To get a good quality of A.malaccensis must use proper cultivation techniques. Mycorrhizae and Trichoderma spp. can improve seedling growth and suppresses pathogenic. Application of mycorrhizae and Trichoderma spp. are on of the success techniques of cultivation, but need to know the potential time to apply. For this reason, this research was conducted to determine the potential time application of mycorrhizal and Trichoderma spp. to increase seddling growth. This research used a completely randomized design (CRD), which consist of 5 treatmens, 10 replications and each replication consisted of 1 seedling. The treatments used were : T1 = Trichoderma spp. on S-5 and mycorrhiza on S-1, T2 = Trichoderma spp. on S-3 and mycorrhiza on S-1, T3 = Trichoderma spp. and mycorrhiza on S-1 , T4 = Trichoderma spp. on S-1 and mycorrhiza on S-3, T5 = Trichoderma spp. on S-1 and mycorrhiza  on S-5, where S = seedlings were transferred to polybags after treatment. The parameters measured were seedling survival percent, seedling height increase, seedling diameter increase, plant dry weight, and root canopy ratio. The results of this research that the application of Trichoderma spp. in 5 days before the seedling were transferred to polybags and mycorrhizae 1 day before the seedlings were transferred to polybags showed the best result for the growth of A.malaccensis seedlings with seedling height increase is 5,13 cm, plant dry weight is 1,14 g and top-root ratio is 3,09. Keywords : Aquilaria malaccensis, mycorrhizae, Trichoderma spp., peat medium

Abstract

Alstonia scholaris  is one of the plants used for revegetation activities in mining land reclamation activities. Vegetative seed procurement is an alternative to get more seedlings, namely by using ivory stems to cut branches. The growth of branch buds can be stimulated using natural growth regulators, namely coconut water. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of coconut water for the growth of ivory branch buds and find out the optimal soaking time for the growth of ivory branch buds. This research was conducted in September-October 2019 in the experimental gardens of the Faculty of Agriculture, Riau University. This study uses a completely randomized design method consisting of 4 treatments and 4 replications with each stem cuttings soaked at several times, are K0 (without soaking), K1 (2 hours soaking time), K2 (4 hours soaking time), K3 (6 hours soaking time). The results of this study showed significant results for the time of emergence of buds, the number of buds, buds length, buds wet weight and dry weight of the ivory branch. The optimal soaking time for the growth of ivory branches is K1 (soaking time 2 hours) with number of buds 1,70 pieces, buds length 0,58 cm and dry weight 0,06 gr.Keywords: coconut water, Alstonia scholaris, growth regulator.

Abstract

Shorea leprosula is one of the most important commercial timber in Southeast Asia. Nutrients are a source of nutrients or food needed by plants, one of which is by applying fertilizers. Chicken manure is an organic fertilizer that contains complete nutrients, both macro and micro. The aim of the research is to knowing influence and best dose of chicken manure fertilizer to seedling growth of Shorea leprosula  in the shade of palm oil stands. The study used a completely randomized design (CRD) method consisting of 4 treatments and 4 replications so that 16 experimental units were obtained. The treatments were: (D0) 0% dose of chicken manure (control), (D1) 20% dose of chicken manure, (D2) 50% dose of chicken manure, (D3) 80% dose of chicken manure. Data were further analyzed using variance, with SPSS software version 20.0. If there is a significant effect of the treatment given, then the test (DNMRT) is carried out. Application of 20% chicken manure fertilizer is the best dosage treatment for chicken manure, namely (D1) by showing the increase in seedling height is 2.07 cm, and the plant dry weight is 1.59 g and top-root ratio is 2.38. Keywords : Chicken manure, Shorea leprosula Miq., growth, shade, oil palm stands.
