Abstract

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the impact of using the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) cooperative learning model on the conceptual understanding of seventh grade junior high school students. Experimental research with a quasi-experimental design "Nonequivalent control group design" and the research model "Posttest only control group design" is the methodology that will be used. The data collection tool was in the form of a test on the results of understanding the class VII concept of the Solar System material which consisted of 21 multiple choice questions. Descriptive analysis will be carried out with students' conceptual knowledge, and inferential analysis will be carried out with the normality test, homogeneity test, and hypothesis testing using SPSS version 22. After the analysis is carried out, it is known that the average understanding of the concept of the experimental group is 61.10 which is included in the high category, while the mean -the average control group's understanding of the concept of 53.33 is in the sufficient category. The difference in average understanding of concepts between the experimental group and the control group using the wordwall-assisted TGT cooperative learning model is statistically significant. Conclusion from the research: Compared to conventional learning, using the TGT cooperative learning methodology is effective in increasing students' conceptual understanding of the Solar System material. Keywords: Teams Games Tournament, Concept Understanding, Wordwall, Solar System

Abstract

Abstract

The 21st century highlights the need for students to develop relevant abilities, such as collaboration and communication skills. Communication skills are critical for students to interact and express thoughts or ideas when solving problems. By communicating efficiently, students collaborate more easily, creating cooperation, responsibility, and concern within the group. This research aims to improve students’ communication and collaboration skills in science learning by implementing the time-token cooperative learning model. This research is a quasi-experiment with a single-group pretest-posttest design. The following is the information obtained in this research: 1) Time-token cooperative learning has an effect in improving students’ collaboration and communication skills; 2) Time-token cooperative learning has an effect in improving collaboration and communication skills for male and female students; 3) Male and female students’ collaboration skills increased after implementing the time-token model. There is an increase in communication skills in female students but not in male students, even though male students’ initial and final skills are higher than female students. Therefore, it is concluded that the time-token cooperative learning model increases students’ communication and collaboration skills.

Abstract

This examination plans to deliver a sound wave module in light of the CPS learning model that is reasonable for use in the secondary school/Mama physical science educational experience. The sort of exploration utilized is improvement research (R&D) with the ADDIE model (Analyze, Plan, Advancement, Execution, Assessment). The examination instruments utilized were approval sheets and reaction sheets for instructors and understudies with a size of four likerts given to 3 specialists, 3 educators, and 26 understudies of SMA Negeri 1 Kampar Timur. The information was examined quantitatively founded on the aftereffects of master approval, educator, and understudy reactions. The aftereffects of approval utilizing the typical score directed by three master validators were in the Substantial classification with a typical score of material specialists of 3.67, educational specialists a typical score of 3.53, and media specialists a typical score of 3.60. The reaction of educators from 3 instructors got a typical educator reaction score of 3.71 and was in the generally excellent classification and the members' reaction got a typical understudy reaction score of 3.62 with an excellent classification. In light of the information acquired, the sound wave module given the CPS learning model is substantial and appropriate for use in the secondary school material science growing experience.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of kits renewable energy projects by implementing a project-based learning model on students' lower order thinking skills (LOTS) and higher order thinking skills (HOTS). The research method used was quasi-experimental with a nonequivalent posttest only control group design. The population in this study was 198 students. Samples were taken randomly from a population that had passed the normality test and homogeneity test. This research uses a cognitive learning outcomes test instrument in the form of multiple choices. The research results show that there is no significant difference in cognitive learning outcomes in the LOTS category between students in classes that apply project-based learning on renewable energy material and classes that apply conventional learning on renewable energy material, sig. 0.127 0.05, using the Mann Whitney test. Meanwhile, the results of hypothesis testing for cognitive learning outcomes in the HOTS category using the independent sample t-test obtained a sig (2-tailed) value of 0.000 0.05, which means there is a significant difference in students' cognitive learning outcomes. between classes that apply project-based learning to renewable energy material and classes that apply conventional learning to renewable energy material. These results indicate that project-based learning can produce student learning in the HOTS category, but has no effect on increasing students' cognitive abilities
