Abstract

Partnerships with companies or sponsorships cannot be separated in the implementation of sporting events; even sponsorship is a significant investment given by companies in the sports industry. However, every company has considerations before sponsoring a sporting event, one of the influencing factors is the attitude of the organizing committee to the company that is a potential sponsor. The purpose of this study is to demonstrate the importance of the committee's attitude toward the company's decision to sponsor a sporting event. By using quantitative descriptive research and survey methods, this study collected data from 33 companies that met the criteria of having sponsored a sporting event and were willing to participate in the study by completing a willingness sheet. The data is taken from a questionnaire filled out by the Company Owner or the company's Marketing Department by first answering questions about the duration of work in the company. Then, respondents responded to statements that came from four indicators, namely the relationship between the committee and the company, the company's interest in the committee, the committee provided a sense of comfort for the company in working together, and the company felt benefited from working together, with the answer strongly agree, agree, disagree, and strongly disagree. After that, the data was analyzed using excel and shown in graph on percentages to explain that the indicator of comfort in working together plays the highest role with a total of 42.42% strongly agree and 48.48% agree. Indirectly, this facet provides information to future sports organizers to assist them in obtaining funding for sports events through a win-win situation or mutualistic relationship.

Abstract

Being overweight, which results in a large belly circumference, is often overlooked, despite the fact that belly fat accumulation can endanger health. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of changes in abdominal circumference and BMI after giving tabata training for 16 meetings. This study is a quasi-experiment that employs a one-group pre-test post-test group design with a population of all Powerfit Daru members and a total sample of 15 using a purposive sampling technique with sample criteria of having an abdominal circumference > 80 cm, being 25-40 years old, and being obese. The obtained data were processed using IBM SPSS version 26 and the paired T-test. The results showed that the average decrease in pre-test and post-test abdominal circumference was (94.86 8.79; 90.46 8.85) with a P value of 0.005 0.05. The results showed that the average change in BMI was 30.51 2.18; 29.96 2.65, with a P value of 0.418 > 0.05. The average decrease in abdominal circumference was -4.4 cm, and the BMI was -0.54 kg/m2. The conclusion of this study was that there was a significant decrease in changes in abdominal circumference with tabata exercise for 5 weeks of treatment but no significant decrease in BMI.

Abstract

Strenuous physical activity is able to cost muscle damage. In urban society, ten kilometers running has become a modern culture. It induces acute inflammation as a normal physiological response. Conversely, a foam roller is known as a self-myofascial release (SMR) technique which can be done individually. Previous studies stated that foam rolling (FR) could increase flexibility, and reduce muscle pain sensation. However, there is still a limited supply of scientific evidence to prove its positive effects, especially through biomarkers such as creatine kinase (CK). This study aims to elucidate the beneficial effects of a foam roller in CK concentration after 10 kilometers of running which induces DOMS. A quasi-repeated measures design was elected as an approach to conducting this study. The purposive sampling technique was used to obtain the subjects (n= 10). Creatine kinase measurements were performed before 10 km running and 3 days post running by using the COBAS INTEGRA 400 Plus Test (the UV-test concept). Repeated Measures ANOVA was used to determine the effect of FR on CK. Ten kilometers of running increased Total CK concentration, pre-test data was 146.2 ± 36.3 (U/L), and 24 hours was 452.3 ± 216.5 (U/L). Creatine Kinase decreased at 48 hours (300.6 ± 117.6 (U/L), and 72 hours (238.4 ± 67.5 (U/L) post-application of foam rolling. We conclude that long distance running increased significantly total CK, and foam rolling might decrease CK concentration in the blood.

Abstract

Background Problems: Every child has interests and talents, but are children’s interests and talents, especially in sports, compatible or similar? This research used scientific selection using the Sports Search test to determine the subject’s sports talent. Research Objectives: This research aims to assess the level of sports interest and talent of elementary school students and identify the suitability of elementary school students’ sports interests and talents. Methods: This type of research is quantitative descriptive research with a survey method. Twenty-two elementary school students were involved as subjects in this research using a purposive sampling technique. Data was collected using surveys, tests, and measurements using instruments like questionnaires and sports search tests. Descriptive statistical analysis was used in this study, and data were expressed in percentages. Findings and Results: The research results were that 95.45% of elementary school students had a high interest in sports, and 4.5.5% had a low interest. As many as 100% of elementary school students have talent in sports. As many as 100% of elementary school students do not have a match between their interests and talents. Conclusion: More in-depth and structured research needs to be carried out in the future to be able to improve students’ performance. Most importantly, it is very important to identify interests and talents from an early age so that there is no mismatch between students’ interests and talents when sports achievement development takes place.
