Abstract

This study aims to develop a mathematics module based on ethnomathematics rooted in local culture as an effort to improve students' numeracy literacy at SMP Negeri 1 Yogyakarta. The background of this research is based on the importance of linking mathematics learning with students’ cultural contexts to foster learning interest and a deeper understanding of concepts. The ethnomathematics approach used in the module development integrates local cultural values—such as batik patterns, traditional games, and regional architectural styles—into mathematics material taught at the junior high school level. The research method employed is Research and Development (R&D) using the 4D development model (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate). The research subjects were eighth-grade students at SMP Negeri 1 Yogyakarta. Validation results from material and media experts indicated that the developed module is suitable for classroom use. A limited trial also showed an improvement in students’ numeracy literacy skills after using the module. Additionally, students responded positively to content that was connected to their own culture, which encouraged active participation in learning. These findings suggest that integrating ethnomathematics into mathematics instruction not only enhances conceptual understanding but also strengthens students' cultural identity. Therefore, this module can serve as an innovative alternative to improve the quality of mathematics learning in schools.

Abstract

Due to bumps or holes in the road, certain regions' road surface is still unsuitable for riding at high speeds. Many motorcycles used stabilizer steering dampers to reduce weave and wobble. Bracket is a structure that holds the stabilizer steering dampers to the motorcycle steering. Bracket plays a significant role in maintaining the stabilizer steering dampers as well as stopping any vibration due to the dynamic conditions. This paper presents Finite Element Analysis of a bracket, which is analyzed material aluminum 6061 and aluminum alloy cast. In this study, we have explored using Static Analysis to calculate the internal force, displacement, and stress of structural brackets. Hence in this study, we have performed Modal Analysis to determine the natural frequencies of the bracket for safety. And also, we have performed Transient Analysis to study the behavior of structure brackets over time in response to time-varying loads and vibrations in dynamic conditions.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze the deformation, equivalent elastic strain, and safety factor of a bracket bracket made from two different materials by using the Finite Element Method, specifically aluminum alloy 6061 T6 and cast iron EN GJL 100. The result of this study is that the Aluminum Alloy 6061T6 material has a deformation of 3.57E-04 whereas the Cast iron EN GJL 100 material is 2.75E-04. In the elastic strain equivalent test, the Aluminium alloy 6061 T6 material is 3.00-E07 and in the Cast Iron EN G JL 100 materials is 2.32E-07. In the safety factor test, Cast Iron En G J L 100 material was better than 1.8617 compared to the Alumium Alloys 60 61 T6 materials are 1.5125. This shows that Cast Iron E GJ L 100 materials are better in deformations, eqeuivalent elastic stations, and safety factors in this case.

Abstract

Abstract

This study develops a Proximity Index to measure Indonesia's proximity to the United States and China, particularly after the COVID-19 pandemic. The index integrates three dimensions (economic, military, and diplomatic) to operationalize proximity as a multidimensional index. The time-series analysis reveals structural asymmetry: Indonesia's military ties remain consistently anchored to the US; economic dependence leans more toward China; and diplomacy is a fluctuating driver of the index. The study identifies three inflection points (2019, 2022, and 2024) when diplomatic oscillations (the COVID-19 pandemic, Indonesia's G20 presidency, and domestic leadership transition) recalibrate overall proximity. The statistical predictions suggest a gradual shift toward China due to strengthening economic integration. These findings also underscore that Indonesia's foreign policy reflects a rebalancing of its composition, rather than a complete restructuring.

Abstract

Occupational Health, Safety, Environment, and Industrial Work Culture learning in vocational schools is often constrained by limited interactive teaching materials, resulting in low student engagement and suboptimal learning outcomes. This condition highlights the urgent need for innovative digital learning resources that align with industrial demands and vocational student characteristics. This study aimed to design, develop, and evaluate the effectiveness of a K3LH E-Module for vocational education students. The research employed a Research and Development approach using the 4D development model, consisting of define, design, develop, and disseminate stages. The research subjects were 60 tenth-grade students of the Automotive Engineering program at Vocational High School in Semarang. Effectiveness testing was conducted at the classroom scale using an experimental group and a control group. Data were collected through expert validation sheets, practicality questionnaires, and pretest–posttest assessments. The results showed that the E-Module was highly feasible, with media expert validation reaching 89.5% and material expert validation 88.9%. Practicality testing indicated a very practical category with a score of 91.3%. Effectiveness analysis using N-Gain yielded a score of 58%, categorised as sufficiently effective. These findings demonstrate that the developed E-Module enhances student learning outcomes and promotes more active participation in K3LH learning. In conclusion, the K3LH E-Module is feasible, practical, and sufficiently effective for use as a digital learning resource in vocational education, with potential for further optimisation to improve learning gains.

Abstract

The US-China trade war signifies a fundamental shift in global economic governance, which has moved beyond a mere tariff dispute to redefine the nature of the strategic environment, particularly for developing countries. This research seeks to explore the vulnerabilities that the US-China trade war imposes on developing countries through three mechanisms: trade diversion that provides asymmetric opportunities based on adaptive capacities, intensification of alignment pressures that require developing countries to deal with competing regulations, and the securitization of their economic dependencies, which transforms supply chain participation into a geopolitical liability. Utilizing a process tracing methodology, this research seeks to analyze the sequences through which tariff escalations and technology restrictions spread across the world, thereby concentrating their dependencies and imposing a new dimension of vulnerability on developing countries. It argues that while developing countries benefit from the production relocation, their overall dependence on the rest of the world has increased, with integration happening within power-contested rather than market-driven frameworks. The US-China trade war, as this research seeks to demonstrate, signifies a structural shift in the nature of the relationship between economic integration and security, with far-reaching implications for developmental autonomy.
