Abstract

Indonesia is a maritime country with potential natural resources . One is Ambalat Island. Ambalat is a sea block with an area covering 15,235 square kilometers located in the Sulawesi Sea and the Makassar Strait or near the extension of land between Malaysia Sabah and East Kalimantan, Indonesia. One point Ambalat keep mine in the potential reserves 764 million barrels of oil and 1.4 trillion cubic feet of gas . But the problem that occurs is increasingly rapine of natural quarry . Additionally, when Malaysia had initially claimed that Indonesian waters 70 miles from the border Sipadan island beach and Ligitan , Malaysia to expand its territory as far as 2 miles. Thereby reducing area of Indonesia. It happened due to the lack of maintenance of the maritime territory of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI), especially in border areas like Ambalat Island. Based on this,it is necessary technology innovations especially warship design that could be a solution as alusista ( main instrument of defense systems ) Indonesian Navy in maintaining maritime Homeland.In this study, the chosen design is the type of hull SWATH (Small waterplane Area Twin Hull) with minimal cross-sectional area of the hull at sea level and maximize the stability of the sea at high speed so that the hull swath able to cover the weakness in the monohull and catamaran, hull which means it has the stability very well and is able to maneuver at high speeds. The operating system used is the Unmanned SurfacesVehicle (USV) or the ship without crew.This design results obtained swath protector hydrostatic analysis , stability , and seakeeping and the lines plan and general arrangement . By using the design method of optimization comparisons from ship references. Obtained the ship's main dimensions are Loa = 11,00 m , LWL = 8.976 m , B = 6.00 m , H = 3.80 m , T = 1.60 m . The swath Protector can sail trough Ambalat Island of 469 sea miles with a tank capacity FOT = 1,73 m3 , DOT = 2,40 m3 , LOT = 2,40 m3 . And for hydrostatic calculations , the ship has a displacement of 23.66 tons with block coefficient ( Cb ) = 0.22 and LCB position = 4.64 . Stability analysis results indicate that the vessel has a maximum GZ value occurs in the condition I followed the 2,722 m at 2,721 m the condition II , and III is 2.719 m . And the value of MG occurred in the 5,701 m , III conditions that led to the vessel having the fastest time to return to the upright position . Resistances Calculation results with analysis software at full speed V = 40 knots , has a resistances value is 64.14 kN and power is 1642.30 kW or 2359.94 HP with a slender body method . Based on the calculation of ship resistance , the chosen propulsion is a water jet machine as much as the two inboard diesel power respectively with each power is 1000 kW / 1340HP.

Abstract

The Community Service Program carried out by the service team is to provide training to youth organizations, especially in RT09/RW09 Bulustalan Village, South Semarang District, Semarang City. Training in making electronic product designs in the form of posters, business cards, and calendars using Canva. The material's content has considered the needs of youth in today's internet era. Besides that, it can add value to the knowledge and skills of youth. From the results of the pre-test and post-test that have been carried out, it has been proven that this training is very beneficial for youth organization. The pre-test results show that less than 20% already know about the Canva module. Next, the post-test results show that more than 90% of the trainees are interested in and want to explore using Canva media. Positive responses have been given from the participants, showing that the training on making electronic product designs using Canva media benefits the participants.

Abstract

ABSTRAKKota Pekalongan terletak di pantai utara Jawa Tengah dimana wilayah pesisir utara ini terdapat potensi yang dapat dikembangkan menjadi aset yang berharga bagi bangsa yaitu para pembuat kapal tradisional. Dalam pelaksanaannya, baik tipe ataupun bentuk kapal yang dibangun, berdasarkan pengalaman kapal-kapal yang pernah dibuat sebelumnya, tanpa melalui perhitungan dan penggambaran terlebih dahulu, sehingga dalam beberapa kasus terhadap pesanan kapal yang berbeda bentuknya, maka pengrajin ini akan mengalami kesulitan. Minimnya pengetahuan tentang gambar teknik juga menyebabkan para pengrajin kapal tradisional tidak dapat menggambar lambung kapal mereka. Hal ini menyebabkan perlunya sosialisasi mengenai teknologi perkapalan kepada pengrajin kapal di Kota Pekalongan terutama dibidang rancang bangun (design) dan konstruksi kapal agar terdapat standar baku mengenai konstruksi kapal kayu yang sesuai dengan standar yang ada seperti Biro Klasifikasi Indonesia (BKI). Pelatihan dilakukan dengan metode presentasi, demonstrasi, serta praktik langsung. Untuk mengukur pencapaian maka dilakukan pretest dan posttest yang dilakukan sebelum dan sesudah pelatihan. Hasil kuesioner menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pengetahuan peserta pelatihan desain kapal. Sebelum dilakukan pelatihan, rata-rata pengetahuan peserta sebesar 26% dalam memahami desain kapal dan 33% dalam memahami analisa tahanan kapal, kemudian mengalami peningkatan menjadi rata-rata sebesar 76% untuk pemahaman desain kapal dan 77% untuk analisa tahanan kapal setelah diberi pelatihan. Kata kunci: desain; pengrajin; kapal kayu; karakteristik kapal ABSTRACTThe city of Pekalongan is located on the north coast of Central Java where there is potential for this northern coastal region to be developed into a valuable asset for the nation, namely traditional shipbuilders. In practice, both the type and shape of the ship built, based on the experience of ships that have been made before, without going through calculations and drawings beforehand, so that in some cases orders for ships with different shapes, these craftsmen will experience difficulties. The lack of knowledge about technical drawings also causes traditional shipbuilders to be unable to draw their hulls. This causes the need for socialization regarding shipping technology to ship craftsmen in Pekalongan City, especially in the field of ship design and construction so that there are standard standards regarding wooden ship construction in accordance with existing standards such as the Indonesian Classification Bureau (BKI). The training is carried out using presentation methods, demonstrations, and hands-on practice. To measure achievement, a questionnaire was filled out before and after the training. The results of the questionnaire showed an increase in the knowledge of ship design training participants. Before the training, the average knowledge of the participants was 26% in understanding ship design and 33% in understanding ship resistance analysis, then increased to an average of 76% for understanding ship design and 77% for ship resistance analysis after being given training. Keywords: design; craftsmen; wooden ships; ship characteristics

Abstract

Learning media is one of the most essential tools in the learning process in the classroom. Learning media can help students understand the material presented more effectively and clearly. Learning media is continuously experiencing significant development, especially in the fourth industrial revolution era. With the fourth industrial and internet technology course, teachers and educators must also know the latest products regarding learning media that can be used. Among the currently commonly used media are Microsoft Office PowerPoint and YouTube. This study aims to discuss two digital-based learning media, i.e., YouTube and Microsoft PowerPoint. The study is conducted through a literature review of several available and current references. It was found that Microsoft PowerPoint and YouTube are effective media for learning and can help students understand better.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze the deformation, equivalent elastic strain, and safety factor of a bracket bracket made from two different materials by using the Finite Element Method, specifically aluminum alloy 6061 T6 and cast iron EN GJL 100. The result of this study is that the Aluminum Alloy 6061T6 material has a deformation of 3.57E-04 whereas the Cast iron EN GJL 100 material is 2.75E-04. In the elastic strain equivalent test, the Aluminium alloy 6061 T6 material is 3.00-E07 and in the Cast Iron EN G JL 100 materials is 2.32E-07. In the safety factor test, Cast Iron En G J L 100 material was better than 1.8617 compared to the Alumium Alloys 60 61 T6 materials are 1.5125. This shows that Cast Iron E GJ L 100 materials are better in deformations, eqeuivalent elastic stations, and safety factors in this case.

Abstract

Ship stability could be considered one of the defining aspects of marine transport, as it directly influences the safety and performance of the ship. Past works have found hull geometry critical in the stability issue; however, the impact of various Chinese configurations under different operation scenarios is missing. This paper seeks to address this gap by studying the effects of Chinese single and double geometries on stability, primarily concerning trimming by stern angles in compliance with the High-Speed Craft (HSC) 2000. Annex 8: Monohull Intact Stability Criteria. Stability calculations using Maxsurf software were done concerning angles of the steady heel, the area under the righting levers (GZ) curve, maximum GZ, and initial transverse metacentric height (GMt). The study showed that both Chinese configurations conformed to the prescribed stability standards. Still, the double Chinese configuration showed better results in terms of stability at a 2-degree heel angle, with a GZ value of 1.692 and the highest GMt value in a steady state. Therefore, the research establishes enhanced stability benefits that the users stand to benefit from by adopting double chine configurations relative to single chine styles.

Abstract

Abstrak Pelatihan pembuatan objek 3D Modelling menggunakan Blender telah selesai dilaksanakan pada hari selasa tanggal 6 agustus 2024 untuk siswa siswi Sekolah Menengah Atas (SMA) Negeri 1 Kedungwuni Kabupaten Pekalongan. Tujuan pelatihan ini adalah untuk memberikan peserta pemahaman mendasar tentang cara menggunakan alat desain Blender untuk membuat dan mendesain animasi objek 3D yang dapat diekspresikan dalam bentuk visual realistis, termasuk ukuran, tekstur, dan bentuk item. Pendekatan pelatihan ini terdiri dari beberapa fase praktik yang berfokus pada pengenalan Blender 3D, ide-ide mendasar untuk animasi 3D, desain, dan pengukuran, serta kerangka kerja dan pemodelan, pemberian tekstur, dan visualisasi. Panduan belajar komprehensif tentang pemodelan 3D disediakan bagi siswa, yang bekerja dalam kelompok untuk membuat dan merancang animasi objek 3D dari awal hingga akhir. Ini membantu mereka menjadi lebih kreatif dan memahami apa yang membuat seni desain responsif menarik secara visual. Hasil kuesioner menunjukkan bahwa adanya peningkatan pengetahuan siswa dalam kegiatan pelatihan pembuatan objek 3D. Sebelum dilakukan pelatihan, rata-rata pengetahuan siswa sebesar 35% dalam memahami desain 3D, kemudian mengalami peningkatan menjadi rata-rata sebesar 90% dalam memahami memuat objek 3D mengunakan software blender setelah diberi pelatihan. Hal ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa para siswa mampu membuat desain pemodelan objek 3D sederhana dengan mudah. Namun tentunya perlu ditingkatkan durasi pelatihan dengan harapan memberikan dampak positif yang lebih banyak dalam meningkatkan softskill siswa SMA Negeri 1 Kedungwuni. Kata kunci: pelatihan; Objek 3D model; blender; pengabdian masyarakat Abstract Training in the field of 3D Modeling using Blender has been completed for students of Senior High School (SMA) Negeri 1 Kedungwuni, Pekalongan Regency. The purpose of this training is to provide participants with a basic understanding of how to use Blender design tools to create and design 3D object animations that can be expressed in realistic visual forms, including the size, texture, and shape of the item. This training approach consists of several practical phases that focus on the introduction of Blender 3D, fundamental ideas for 3D animation, design, and measurement, as well as frameworks and modeling, texturing, and visualization. A comprehensive study guide on 3D modeling is provided for students, who work in groups to create and design 3D object animations from start to finish. This helps them become more creative and understand what makes responsive design art visually appealing. The results of the questionnaire showed that there was an increase in student knowledge in the 3D object creation training activities. Before the training, the average student knowledge was 35% in understanding 3D design, then increased to an average of 90% in understanding loading 3D objects using blender software after being given training. It can be concluded that students are able to create simple 3D object modeling designs easily. However, of course, the duration of the training needs to be increased in the hope of providing more positive impacts in improving the soft skills of students of SMA Negeri 1 Kedungwuni. Keywords: training; 3D object model; blender; community service

Abstract

The utilization of Virtual Reality (VR) technology for educational purposes, namely in instructing Indonesian culture, particularly the Keris culture, holds significant importance. This is due mainly to the limited dissemination of knowledge on Keris and traditional weaponry inside educational institutions, as they are not currently incorporated into the curriculum. The Universitas Negeri Semarang and Politeknik Negeri Jakarta teams have developed interactive learning media focusing on virtual reality (VR) technology. The primary objective of the virtual reality (VR) application is to provide a comprehensive exploration of Keris culture, intending to foster a deeper understanding and appreciation of Indonesia's rich cultural legacy among the younger generation, mainly elementary school pupils. The approach involves offering instructional sessions to students and educators, focusing on utilizing virtual reality (VR) technology as an educational instrument. Training activities were provided at Barusari 02 Elementary School in South Semarang. Considering technological accessibility is crucial to ensuring that all students can access educational materials without obstacles. The findings derived from administering pre- and post-assessments to primary school children indicate that Virtual Reality Technology has the potential to engender greater interest among pupils in acquainting themselves with Indonesian culture. Most participants, above 80%, expressed a strong positive inclination towards utilizing Virtual Reality (VR) Technology to acquire knowledge about various cultural aspects. By providing appropriate support and adopting a comprehensive approach, virtual reality (VR) has the potential to serve as an efficacious instrument for enhancing students' comprehension and admiration of Indonesian culture.

Abstract

Indonesia merupakan negara maritim dengan sumber daya perikanan yang melimpah, menghadapi berbagai permasalahan dalam sektor perikanan, khususnya terkait dengan kapal ikan. Beberapa masalah utama termasuk mematuhi regulasi, menggunakan kapal dengan teknologi yang tidak memadai, dan praktik penangkapan ikan yang merusak lingkungan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghitung nilai torsi dan gaya dorong yang dihasilkan dari baling-baling kapal ikan dalam meningkatkan efisiensi kapal. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) menghitung dan mensimulasikan pengaruh gaya dorong dan torsi pada baling-baling terhadap sudut kemiringan poros 0°, 30°, 50°, dan 60°. Sebelum melakukan simulasi, proses validasi telah dilakukan dengan nilai error di bawah 5% dalam kondisi lurus tanpa kemiringan. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa baling-baling dengan posisi kemiringan 50° memiliki nilai gaya dorong dan torsi yang optimal dengan nilai gaya dorong 55809 N dan torsinya adalah 72111,5 Nm. Hal ini hasil analisis tersebut pada Propeller kapal ikan dapat berdampak besar pada kesejahteraan nelayan, keberlanjutan lingkungan, dan efisiensi operasional. Desain Propeller yang lebih efisien, hambatan hidrodinamis yang lebih rendah, dan efisiensi bahan bakar dapat dicapai melalui hasil simulasi CFD yang optimal.

Abstract

Indonesia's extraordinary marine tourism potential requires innovation in how to enjoy it. This study discusses the innovative design of a semi-submarine glass-bottom ship for the development of marine tourism in Indonesia, which allows tourists to enjoy the beauty of the underwater world safely and comfortably. This catamaran is designed with two hulls that provide high stability and optimal deck area for tourism needs. The study focuses on analyzing the ship's frame structure using the finite element analysis method, especially on using sandwich panels that combine wood and carbon fiber materials to achieve the optimal combination of structural strength, weight, and cost efficiency. Finite element analysis shows that sandwich panels with 100% carbon fiber composition provide the best mechanical performance with a maximum stress of 615.41 MPa. The analysis shows that adding carbon fiber plays a significant role in reinforcement and is a more effective stress distributor than homogeneous materials. Although the 100% carbon fiber formulation provides the highest safety factor, the study recommends a combination of 70% wood and 30% carbon fiber, or 60% wood and 40% carbon fiber for the construction of the ship's hull frame as a more optimal solution in terms of technical and economic aspects. This ship design innovation is expected to become a new tourist attraction that introduces the beauty of Indonesia's underwater world to domestic and foreign tourists while encouraging the development of a sustainable marine tourism industry.
