Abstract

According to the Global Gender Gap Report 2025 (WEF), gender equality in Indonesia remains unequal globally, although women's roles in public leadership, including education, have been shown to increase institutional presence. However, previous research has not comprehensively analyzed the characteristics of women's transformational leadership. This study aims to examine the characteristics of women's transformational leadership from a gender perspective. The study used a qualitative approach through interviews, documentation, and observation, and analyzed the data using a multi-case study, including individual and cross-case analysis. The results show that the characteristics of women's transformational leadership include idealized influence with feminist role models grounded in religious values, inspirational motivation grounded in development, intellectual stimulation grounded in globalization, and individualized consideration grounded in personal growth. This research contributes to the development of knowledge on transformational leadership from a gender perspective. It provides practical recommendations for women's leadership models and a paradigm shift in gender bias in education.

Abstract

This study explores ontological foundations in developing Islamic educational management theory through qualitative approach with case study method. Contemporary Islamic educational management complexity requires theoretical reconstruction integrating spiritual and material dimensions holistically to address traditional-modernity dichotomy challenges. Data collection conducted through semi-structured in-depth interviews with five key informants consisting of madrasah principals, pesantren directors, and Islamic higher education leaders, along with organizational documentation analysis using purposive sampling. Thematic analysis reveals five main ontological principles: tawhid in management, spiritual-material integration, khilafah in leadership, institutional amanah, and shura in decision-making. Findings demonstrate that Islamic Educational Management Framework successfully integrates operational efficiency with Islamic spiritual values, creating more participative organizational structures and istikharah-musyawarah based decision-making mechanisms with 83% stakeholder satisfaction rate. Transformational Islamic leadership typology shows highest effectiveness at 85%, while holistic evaluation systems using Islamic Performance Indicators measure dunyawi and ukhrawi dimensions simultaneously. Resulting theoretical construction not only provides alternatives for Islamic educational institutions but also contributes to enriching global educational management theory through spirituality dimension integration previously neglected in conventional literature.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the conceptualization of material and formal objects of Islamic educational management science within the contemporary epistemological framework. Employing a qualitative approach with intrinsic case study design, the research involved in-depth interviews with Islamic educational management experts, school/madrasah principals, and academics selected through purposive sampling. Data were analyzed using thematic analysis with trustworthiness criteria implementation to ensure findings credibility. Research findings reveal that material objects encompass all tangible and observable Islamic educational phenomena, including institutions, human resources, students, curriculum, and facilities integrated with Islamic values. Formal objects represent Islamic managerial perspectives integrating tawhid, khilafah, and accountability principles, providing transformative epistemological frameworks for Islamic educational management. The integration model of both objects produces holistic managerial approaches emphasizing not only operational efficiency but also character and spirituality formation. Model implementation requires transformational leadership capable of harmonizing technical and spiritual aspects throughout management stages. This research contributes to providing conceptual clarity regarding Islamic educational management scientific identity and offers practical guidance for curriculum development and quality Islamic educational institution management with strong character foundation.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze and construct epistemological foundations in developing integrative and transformative Islamic education management theory. The paradigmatic complexity in addressing the dichotomy between secular management theories and Islamic worldview becomes the primary focus of this research. The research method employs a qualitative approach with case study strategy involving nine informants consisting of madrasah principals, Islamic education management lecturers, and Islamic educational epistemology experts selected through purposive sampling. Data collection techniques utilize semi-structured in-depth interviews with thematic analysis combined with constant comparative method. Research findings reveal three main dimensions of epistemological foundations: rational, empirical, and revelation-based epistemology integrated within an integrated epistemological framework with four systematic stages: foundation, construction, validation, and implementation. Findings indicate that epistemological construction is circular and integrative, capable of bridging theory-practice dichotomy through triangulated decision making. Implementation faces challenges including change resistance, human resource limitations, and paradigmatic conflicts that can be addressed through integration workshops, gradual change management, capacity building programs, and epistemological dialogue. This research contributes to developing new paradigms of Islamic education management that are authentic, scientific, and applicable through decolonization and Islamization of knowledge processes that can enhance competitiveness and sustainability of Islamic educational institutions in the globalization era

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan model manajemen pendidikan Islam berbasis filsafat ilmu di Sekolah Rakyat 24 Samarinda. Latar belakang penelitian berangkat dari kebutuhan akan model pengelolaan pendidikan Islam yang tidak hanya efisien secara teknis, tetapi juga memiliki dasar filosofis yang kuat. Dengan pendekatan Research and Development (R&D) dan metode kualitatif, penelitian ini menganalisis nilai-nilai ontologis, epistemologis, dan aksiologis yang menjadi dasar pengelolaan lembaga pendidikan Islam. Data diperoleh melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi terhadap kepala sekolah, guru, wali asuh dan wali asrama. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa integrasi filsafat ilmu mampu memperkuat arah manajemen pendidikan Islam agar lebih bermakna dan bernilai. Model yang dihasilkan menekankan pada keselarasan antara rasionalitas ilmiah, spiritualitas, dan etika dalam setiap kebijakan lembaga pendidikan.

Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan kajian kritis terhadap artikel berjudul “The difference between educational management and educational leadership and the importance of educational responsibility” oleh Michael Connolly, Chris James, and Michael Fertig (2019). Fokus penelitian adalah menganalisis Perbedaan antara Manajemen Pendidikan dan Kepemimpinan Pendidikan. Manajemen pendidikan dan kepemimpinan pendidikan merupakan dua konsep yang saling terkait namun berbeda dalam implementasinya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis perbedaan mendasar antara keduanya serta mengidentifikasi pentingnya tanggung jawab pendidikan dalam menciptakan sistem pendidikan yang efektif dan berkualitas. Manajemen pendidikan merupakan serangkaian kegiatan pengelolaan sumber daya pendidikan melalui perencanaan, pengorganisasian, pelaksanaan, dan pengawasan untuk mencapai tujuan pendidikan secara efisien. Sementara itu, kepemimpinan pendidikan adalah kemampuan mempengaruhi, menggerakkan, dan mengarahkan semua personil satuan pendidikan dalam melaksanakan tugas pembelajaran sesuai dengan prinsip-prinsip pedagogik. Pentingnya tanggung jawab pendidikan terletak pada kenyataan bahwa keberhasilan pendidikan memerlukan koordinasi dan kolaborasi efektif antara semua komponen, dimana setiap pihak memiliki peran strategis dalam menjamin kualitas dan kesuksesan sistem pendidikan. Penelitian ini menggunakan berupa studi kepustakaan dan analisis kritis terhadap komponen artikel seperti judul, abstrak, metode, hasil, serta kontribusi akademik.. Hasil temuan menunjukkan bahwa pembedaan jelas antara manajemen dan kepemimpinan pendidikan, serta pemahaman mendalam tentang tanggung jawab pendidikan, menjadi kunci penting untuk meningkatkan mutu dan efektivitas pendidikan nasional.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengeksplorasi pengaruh partisipasi orang tua terhadap pengembangan minat dan bakat peserta didik di MTs Hidayaturrahman melalui pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif. Keterlibatan 45 peserta didik, 30 orang tua, dan 8 guru sebagai subjek penelitian menghasilkan temuan komprehensif mengenai dinamika partisipasi orang tua dalam konteks pendidikan. Hasil penelitian mengungkapkan bahwa partisipasi orang tua yang termanifestasi dalam bentuk dukungan finansial, emosional, keterlibatan langsung, dan pengawasan memberikan dampak signifikan terhadap pencapaian prestasi peserta didik. Data empiris menunjukkan bahwa 78% peserta didik dengan dukungan optimal berhasil meraih prestasi kompetitif, sementara hanya 22% dari mereka dengan dukungan terbatas mencapai hasil serupa. Hambatan utama yang teridentifikasi meliputi keterbatasan waktu, pengetahuan, dan kemampuan finansial orang tua. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan pengembangan program parenting education, sistem komunikasi digital, dan skema bantuan untuk memaksimalkan partisipasi orang tua dalam mengoptimalkan potensi peserta didik secara holistik dan berkelanjutan.

Abstract

This article explores the relevance of contemporary scientific paradigms to the management of Islamic education. The contemporary paradigm is characterized by interdisciplinary, integrative, and holistic approaches that reject purely positivistic views. In the context of Islamic education, this paradigm can be combined with al-Faruqi’s Islamization of knowledge, al-Attas’ concept of insan adabi, and Amin Abdullah’s approach to the interconnectedness of sciences. Islamic educational management is based on the principles of tawhid, trust (amanah), justice, and consultation (shura), thus functioning not only administratively but also spiritually. A critical analysis reveals that integrating the contemporary paradigm offers opportunities for curriculum innovation and the use of digital technology, while also posing challenges such as the secularization of knowledge and the commercialization of education. As a solution, transformative Islamic leadership is needed to balance modernization with Islamic values. The article concludes that integrating contemporary paradigms with Islamic educational management can produce a generation of insan kamil—intelligent, faithful, and virtuous individuals.

Abstract

Islamic education is a process of forming a complete human being based on values and ethics as its philosophical foundation. However, the development of modern educational management theory, which is oriented toward instrumental rationality, efficiency, and performance achievement, often raises axiological problems when applied in the context of Islamic education. This article aims to conceptually analyze the relationship between values, ethics, and the objectives of Islamic education from an axiological perspective, as well as its implications for the development of educational management theory. This study uses a qualitative approach with a library research method through critical analysis of the literature on Islamic educational philosophy, educational management theory, and the thoughts of Islamic scholars. The results of the study show that tauhid (monotheism) is the highest value that inspires all activities in education and Islamic educational management. Ethical values such as trustworthiness, justice, responsibility, and and the public interest becomes the basis for managerial decision-making, while instrumental values are subordinate to transcendental values. The reconstruction of educational management functions based on axiology requires the integration of Islamic values in planning, organizing, implementation, and supervision. This approach has implications for formulating holistic Islamic education goals, not only oriented towards academic achievement but also toward shaping individuals who are faithful, knowledgeable, and of noble character. Thus, axiology-based educational management is a strategic necessity in maintaining the identity and relevance of Islamic education in the modern era.
