Abstract

Human and humanity are positive and optimistic. In Islam, all human come from one source; Nabi Adam and Hawa. Although, human is from the same ancestor, but then they are flourishing into different races, tribes, or nations, with all different cultures and way of life. Those differences provoke them know others and appreciate others. This is, then, called “universal humanity” perspective by Islam that will determine and push the solidarity among others. Multiculturalisme-paradigmed education or multicultural education in Islamic education has been applying for many years. It just need to reform and reinforce, so the Islamic education practitioners realize it and implement it in the all level of Islamic education. Multicultural education has inherently established since the birth of Indonesia, as wellknown of Bhineka Tunggal Ika, gotong royong, helpful, and appreciate others. That is a huge foundation to improve the quality of Islamic multicultural education bigger and bigger. This paper proposes some ideas in internalizasing the Islamic multicultural education.

Abstract

Educational institutions can function well if the its performance can be measured clearly. Educational institutions should be empowered towards optimal empowerment, by developing schools with strategic planning, a vision and mission, an independent school, empowering the community by many efforts to increase the role and participation of the community through school committees. To make schools as an education institution in high quality, it needs to be evaluated and controlled. The School achieved can be said that the institution is measurable. One alternative is offered in measuring the performance of schools is known by the Balanced Scorecard (BSC). Balanced Scorecard was introduced by Robert Kaplan and David Norton by understanding the schools mission and strategy into objectives and measures, which are arranged in four perspectives, namely financial perspective, customer perspective, internal business perspective and the perspective of learning.

Abstract

The education institutions become a central place to create a young better generation than the privous ones through character education. The character education is a process of creating the students become an intactly good-characterized human in the dimension of mind, way of thinking, physically healthy, and hearted human. The character education is carving the students’ ahlaq through a process of knowing the good, loving the good, and acting the good. That process involves the coqnitive, emotional, and physical aspects, so the noble ahlaq can be carved become the habit of the mind, heart, and hands. The character education is directed to create a tough, competitive, noble hearted, moraly, tolerant, helpful, patriotic, and dinamic person who has the orientation of science and knowledge based on the belief and piety of Allah SWT. A teacher implements the character education in the teaching and learning process by making the students formulate the questions actively, find the sources of learning, collect the information, work with the information, reconstruct the fact, and present the result of reconstruction. The character education learning should be done by the teachers from the planning, implementaion, and evaluation.

Abstract

Islamic education management study program has 200 alumni. Unfortunely, there was no sufficient information about their jobs and activities after graduating from STAIN Samarinda. The objectiveof this study was to map the alumni of Islamic education management study programof Tarbiyah of STAIN Samarinda. Data were collected by using interview, documentation, and questionnaires. The subject of the study was the alumni of Islamic education management study program who graduated from STAIN Samarinda since 2000 to 2013. Data were analized by using the model of Miles dan Huberman. The findings shows that : firstly, most of the alumni could finish their study in four years. Secondly, the alumni are 51% male and 49% female. Thirdly, regarding to the place of the works, alumni of MPI could be found in Samarinda (majority), Balikpapan, Tenggarong, Bulungan, Sangata, Kota Bangun, Bengalon, Paser, Tanah Grogot, Malinau, Melak, tanah Tidung, and Sangkulirang. Forthly, in terms of the kinds of the jobs, alumni of MPI work in different field of works, such as: teachers, staff administration, and private sectors. Regarding to the aspect of interconectivity between the major and the work field, it could reach 68%.

Abstract

This article is a qualitative research that aims to describe the implementation of environmentally sound school management in MAN 1 Samarinda. This school began to focus on becoming a school adiwiyata in 2015 and managed to achieve the achievement as a provincial school adiwiyata in 2017. Implementation of this adiwiyata program as a manifestation of the vision of MAN 1 Samarinda, which is MAN 1 Samarinda as a religious-based school is to realize the human resources has aqidah islam and morality, smart, independent, competitive, able to build partnership and concern for environmental sustainability. The Adiwiyata school program at MAN 1 Samarinda was designed by the Adiwiyata MAN 1 Samarinda program team which includes 4 components, ie environmentally sound policies, environmental-based curriculum implementation, participatory based activities and environmentally friendly use of facilities. Supporting factors in the implementation of the adiwiyata program in MAN 1 Samrinda, which is good cooperation of all components of the school community, environmentally friendly facilities and infrastructure and support from outside parties, one of them Environment Agency (DLH). While the inhibiting factor in the implementation of the adiwiyata program is the cost or budget and students’ awarenees of the environment. Keywords: Adiwiyata School Management

Abstract

The research goal is to find out how the stakeholders evaluation toward the implementation of the PKL (Field Work Practice) of MPI students of STAIN Samarinda. The research is a descriptive qualitative research. The data sources are stakeholders evaluation that consist of headmaster, chief of Administration (TU) and tutor. Data is obtained by document and interview. The data collection technique that is used is analysis model of Miles & Huberman that is done by four activities, namely: data collecting, data reduction, data presentation, and summary drawing or verification. The research result shows that the stakeholders evaluation towards the PKL implementation of MPI students of STAIN Samarinda includes three evaluation aspects, namely evaluation in education and teaching aspect, school administration aspect, also public service aspect. Stakeholders evaluation towards thePKL of  MPI students of STAIN Samarinda for the aspects of education and teaching also school administration are dominant with a good qualification, means that has mastered or there is a suitability between planning with teaching and administrating implementation. While the public service can be concluded that the implementation of MPI students PKL of STAIN Samarinda is dominant to get the stakeholders evaluation with an excellent qualification, means that in the social relation of society and the communication is already excellent with the school people.
