Abstract

Limbah kulit kacang tanah (Arachis hypogaea L.) umumnya dihasilkan dari industri pengolahan kacang yang sebagian besar limbahnya belum dimanfaatkan. Hal ini sangat disayangkan karena di dalam limbah kulit kacang tanah terkandung senyawa fenolik yang berfungsi sebagai antioksidan alami. Serbuk kulit kacang tanah dimaserasi dengan etanol 70%. Ekstrak yang diperoleh disaring dan diuapkan. Ekstrak diperiksa aktivitas antioksidannya menggunakan metode  DPPH (α, α-difenil-β-picrylhydrazyl) dengan asam askorbat  sebagai baku standar. Hasil uji aktivitas antioksidan ekstrak kulit kacang tanah diperoleh nilai IC50 sebesar 118,54 µg/ml, sedangkan vitamin C diperoleh nilai IC50 sebesar 12,35 µg/ml. Ekstrak kulit kacang tanah yang memiliki aktivitas antioksidan diformulasikan dalam bentuk sediaan krim. Hasil pengamatan organoleptis krim ekstrak  kacang tanah menunjukan warna putih kecoklatan,  homogen, pH 6.2 dan memiliki daya sebar dan viskositas yang baik. Kata Kunci : antioksidan, krim, kulit kacang tanah

Abstract

Sinar UV diketahui memiliki potensi bahaya terhadap kulit manusia, sehingga dibutuhkan tabir surya yang dapat melindungi kulit dari bahaya radiasi sinar matahari Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk melihat aktivitas biologis dan formulasi ekstrak yang dibuat dari daun Stevia rebaudiana Bert kering. Stevia rebaudiana Bert adalah daun yang memiliki aktivitas sebagai tabir surya. Daun, tetapi juga batang dan bunga stevia mengandung campuran kompleks glikosida diterpen manis, termasuk isosteviol, steviolbioside, stevioside, rebaudiosides (A, B, C, D, E dan F), dan dulcoside A. Selain glikosida, daun stevia juga mengandung komponen lainnya, seperti flavonoid, asam fenolik, asam lemak, protein dan vitamin. Stevia rebaudiana Bert diekstraksi dengan etanol selanjutnya diformulasikan dalam sediaan krim untuk dilihat potensi tabir surya. Hasil uji menunjukkan ekstrak Stevia rebaudiana Bert dalam sediaan krim memiliki efektifitas sebagai tabir surya pada panjang gelombang 290 nm dan memiliki potensi sebagai tabir surya dengan kategori proteksi ultra dengan nilai SPF > 15.  Keywords: Stevia rebaudiana Bert, tabir surya, krim .

Abstract

ABSTRACTEthyl acetate fraction of Som Java leaves (Talinum paniculatum (Jacq.) Gaertn) has been shown to boost innate immunity in the body (non-specific immunomodulatory activity). This study aims to determine the immunomodulatory activity of the specific response of the ethyl acetate fraction of Som Java leaves (Talinum paniculatum (Jacq.) Gaertn). Test specific immune response by using delayed type hypersensitivity test and total antibody titers test. Analysis of data obtained using SPSS version 16.0. Delayed type hypersensitivity test results showed that the ethyl acetate fraction Som Java leaves 50, 100 and 150 mg/kgbw proven to increase cellular immune response and activities comparable to the positive control. Total antibody titer test results showed that the fraction of ethyl acetate Som Java leaves three doses shown to increase the value of primary and secondary antibody titers. Based on the test results specific response can be concluded that the ethyl acetate fraction Som Java leaves have specific immunomodulatory activity.Keywords: Talinum paniculatum (Jacq.) Abstract

INTISARI  Imunomodulator merupakan senyawa yang mengubah aktivitas sistem imun tubuh dengan dinamisasi regulasi sel-sel imun seperti sitokin. Ada dua jenis respon imun yang mungkin terjadi bila tubuh terpapar zat asing, yaitu respon imun non spesifik dan spesifik.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui aktivitas imunomodulator  fraksi etil asetat daun Som Jawa (Talinum triangulare (Jacq.)Willd) terhadap respon imun non spesifik.Uji respon imun non spesifik dengan menggunakan metode bersihan karbon dan  indeks organ limfoid. Analisa data yang diperoleh menggunakan SPSS versi 16,0. Hasil uji bersihan karbon menunjukkan bahwa fraksi etil asetat daun Som Jawa 50 mg/kgBB bersifat imunostimulan sedang dengan indeks fagositik (K) 1,34. Sedangkan fraksi etil asetat daun Som Jawa 100 dan 150 mg/kgBB bersifat imunostimulan kuat dengan indeks fagositik (K) > 1,5. Hasil uji indeks organ limfoid menunjukkan adanya perbedaan signifikan persen indeks hati, limpa, dan timus antara fraksi etil asetat daun Som Jawa ketiga dosis dengan kontrol negatif.Berdasarkan hasil uji respon  imun non spesifik dapat disimpulkan bahwa fraksi etil asetat daun Som Jawa mempunyai aktivitas imunostimulan.  Kata kunci: daun Som Jawa, imunostimulan, bersihan karbon, indeks fagositik.  ABSTRACT  Immunomodulatory compounds that alter the activity of the immune system with the dynamic regulation of immune cells such as cytokine. There are two types of immune responses that may occur when the body is exposed to a foreign substance, the immune response is non-specific and specific. This study aims to determine the immunomodulatory activity of the ethyl acetate fraction of leaf Som Java (Talinumpaniculatum (Jacq.) Gaertn)  towards  the non-specific immune responses. Test a non-specific immune response by  using carbon clearance index and lymphoid organs. Analysis of data obtained using SPSS version 16.0. Carbon clearance test results showed that the ethyl acetate fraction Som Java leaves 50 mg/kg bw are immunostimulatory being the phagocytic index (K) 1,34. While the ethyl acetate fraction Som Java leaves 100 and 150 mg/kg bw is a powerful immunostimulant with phagocytic index (K)> 1,5. The test results lymphoid organs index showed significant differences percent index of liver, spleen, and thymus between ethyl acetate fractionSom Java leaves three doses with the negative control. Based on the test results of non-specific immune responses can be summed ethyl acetate fraction Som Java leaves have immunostimulatory activity.  Keywords: Som Java leaves, immunostimulant, carbon clearance, phagocytic index.

Abstract

ABSTRACTInsulin resistance is a common condition that is believed to play a major role in the pathogenesis of the metabolic syndrome, obesity and type 2 diabetes mellitus, and heart disease. The purpose of this study was to determine the antidiabetic activity mellitus combination of purified extract of bitter herbs and artemisia herb in rats with type 2 diabetes mellitus insulin resistance compared with the effect of each extract.Test activity of purified extract of bitter herbs, herbal extracts purified artemisia and combinations thereof done by grouping test animals which have been declared insulin resistance is divided into 7 groups, Group I: a combination of purified extract of bitter herbs 390.9 mg / kg and 83.56 mg of the herb artemisia / kg; Group II: a combination of purified extract of bitter herbs 651.5 mg / kg and herb artemisia 41.7 mg / kg; Group III: purified extract of bitter herbs single dose of 651.5 mg / kg rat; Group IV : purified extract of bitter herbs single dose of 1303 mg / kg, po; Group V: purified extract of the herb artemisia single dose 41.78 mg / kg, po; Group VI: purified extract of the herb artemisia single dose 83.56 mg / KgBW , po; Group VII: positive control (given metformin dose of 45 mg / kg, po); Group VIII: negative control (CMC-Na was given 1%, po). Then the results were analyzed with SPSS 16 statistical test.The percentage decrease preprandial blood glucose levels of administration of a single dose of artemisia extract 83.56 mg / KgBW better than the combination of bitter and herbal28extracts artemisia, while the percentage reduction in postprandial glucose levels in the administration of a combination of extracts of bitter herbs bitter dose of 651.5 mg / kg BB artemisia herb and 41.7 mg / kg better than the extract of bitter herbs and herbal extracts artemisia singly.Keywords: bitter herbs, Artemisia herb, diabetes mellitus, glucose levels

Abstract

ABSTRACT Fluor albus is a genital disorder symptoms by women because of infections caused by bacteria, viruses, fungi or parasites. Red ginger (Zingiber officinale var Rubrum) is one of the natural ingredients has been used the potential as antifungal because of the content the active compound for example flavonoids, alkaloids, tannin, saponin and terpenoid. In this research, examines the effects of antifungal C. albicans ethanol extract red ginger after formulated vaginal douche with varying concentrations of 10%, 15% and 20%. vaginal douche is made using by soap base sodium lauryl sulfate, citric acid, sodium chloride, propilenglikol and water. Red ginger extraction methods remaserasi for 5 days using ethanol 96% by the turn of the solvent every 24 hours. Test power using the antifungal C. albicans on PDA medium. Evaluation of vaginal douche red ginger extract consist of organoleptic, homogenity, specific of gravity, pH, and antifungal effect. The results showed that the concentration of ethanol extract red ginger 10%, 15% and 20% have antifungal activity against C. albicans. Power test vaginal douche red ginger activity lower than vaginal douche containing povidone iodine as an active ingredient with the analysis results were significantly different (p <0.05). Abstract

Latar belakang: Desa Dukuh, kecamatan Delanggu merupakan salah satu Desa di Kabupaten Klaten, Jawa Tengah yang terkenal akan produksi berasnya. Inovasi yang dapat diberikan untuk meningkatkan potensi dan nilai tambah dari beras adalah diformulasikan ke dalam sediaan sabun beras herbal. Tujuan: Memperkenalkan metode pengolahan beras dan tanaman herbal hingga menjadi produk sabun beras herbal yang dapat menciptakan peluang usaha desa. Metode: Kegiatan ini dilakukan melalui tiga tahapan yaitu tahapan pertama tahapan perencanaan dan persiapan kegiatan, tahapan kedua adalah pelaksanaan meliputi sosialisasi dan pelatihan pembuatan sabun beras herbal dan tahap ketiga adalah evaluasi akhir. Hasil: Hasil pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat diterima dengan antusias dan seluruh peserta aktif dalam kegiatan sosialisasi mengenai kosmetik herbal dan pelatihan pembuatan sabun beras herbal. Lebih dari 90% peserta memahami sosialisasi dan pelatihan yang diberikan. Kesimpulan: Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat yang berlangsung sukses dan lancar. Peserta pengabdian juga berharap kelanjutan kegiatan pelatihan kontrol kualitas sediaan sabun dan pelatihan pemasaran produk. Kata Kunci: beras, herbal, Klaten, sabun __________________________________________________________________________________________ Abstract Background: Dukuh Village, Delanggu sub-district is one of the villages in Klaten  Regency, Central Java which is famous for its rice production. An innovation that can be given to increase the potential and added value of rice is to formulate it into herbal rice soap preparations. Objective: To introduce methods of processing rice and herbal plants to become herbal rice soap products that can create village business opportunities. Method: This activity is carried out through three stages, namely the first stage is the planning stage, the second stage is the socialization and training stage for making herbal rice soap and the third stage is the final evaluation. Result: The results of the implementation of community service activities were enthusiastically received and all participants were active in socialization activities regarding herbal cosmetics and training in making herbal rice soap. More than 90% of the participants understood the socialization and training provided. Conclusion: Community service activities that took place successfully and smoothly. The participants also hope to continue the quality control training activities for soap preparations and product marketing training. Keywords: rice, herbs, Klaten, soap

Abstract

Latar belakang: Jamu adalah sebutan untuk obat tradisional dari Indonesia. Jamu dibuat dari bahan alami dari tumbuhan seperti rimpang (akar-akaran), daun-daunan, kulit batang dan buah. Diperkirakan sekitar 70-80% populasi di negara berkembang memiliki ketergantungan pada obat tradisional. Secara umum jamu dianggap tidak beracun dan tidak menimbulkan efek samping. Khasiat jamu telah teruji oleh waktu, zaman dan sejarah, serta bukti empiris langsung pada manusia selama ratusan tahun. Tanaman obat keluarga atau yang lebih populer sebagai TOGA merupakan tanaman obat yang ditanam di lingkup lingkungan keluarga. Pada masa pandemi, terjadi tren peningkatan penggunaan obat tradisional untuk menjaga daya tahan tubuh. Berbagai pembuktian secara ilmiah tentang manfaat tanaman obat dalam hal menjaga daya tahan tubuh. Tujuan: Meningkatkan wawasan dan pengetahuan masyarakat mengenai TOGA serta manfaatnya, termasuk cara pengolahan dan pembuatan jamu Saritoga.. Metode: Pelaksanaan kegiatan dilakukan secara langsung melalui sosialisasi dan pelatihan langsung kepada kelompok masyarakat sasaran. Hasil: Masyarakat yang awalnya tidak memahami sistem imun jadi lebih paham. Hasil pretest nilai jawaban yang benar adalah 45% setelah dilakukan pelatihan dan penyuluhan nilai jawaban yang benar meningkat menjadi 85%. Kesimpulan: Pelatihan dan penyuluhan dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan perihal system imun dan ketrampilan pembuatan jamu Saritoga pada masyarakat. Herbal medicine is made from natural plant ingredients such as rhizomes (roots), leaves, bark, and fruit. It is estimated that around 70-80% of the population in developing countries is dependent on traditional medicine. Herbal medicine is considered non-toxic and does not cause side effects. The efficacy of herbal medicine has been tested by time, time, and history, as well as direct empirical evidence on humans for hundreds of years. Family medicinal plants or TOGA are medicinal plants grown within the family environment. During the pandemic, there has been a trend of increasing the use of traditional medicine to maintain the body's immune system. The benefits of medicinal plants in keeping the body's immune system are scientific evidence. Objective: Increase public insight and knowledge regarding TOGA and its benefits, including how to process and make Saritoga herbal medicine. Method: Activities implementation is directly through direct outreach and training to target community groups. Result: People who initially did not understand the immune system became more understanding. The pretest result of the correct answer value was 45%. After training and counseling, the correct answer value increased to 85%. Conclusion: Training and counseling can increase knowledge about the immune system and skills in making Saratoga herbal medicine in the community. Abstract

Tubercolusis is a disease that attacks the lungs. The disease is caused by the bacterium mycobacterium tubercolusis. The bacteria mycobacterium tubercolusis can be killed by antibiotics. However, continuous use of antibiotics can cause bacterial resistance. So we need to find new drugs that can prevent multi-drug resistant tuberculosis. This study aims to determine the antibacterial activity of MDR TB from soft coral symbiont bacteria Lobophytum sp. There were 6 bacterial isolates obtained from soft coral Lobophytum sp. One isolate from Lobophytum-associated bacteria were successfully screened for antimycobacterial against MDR TB bacteria. PLO2 was found to inhibit the growth of MDR TB (MDR TB strain SIRE and R). Based on the results of identification with PCR, soft coral symbionts of PLO2 was closely related to Virgibacillus marismortui with homology of 99%.

Abstract

Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) is a bacterial infection that is resistant to the antibiotic methicillin and the ?-lactam class of antibiotics. This study aims to determine the antibacterial activity of the extract and ethanol-water fraction of white pomegranate peel (Punica granatum L.) against MRSA bacteria and the TLC-Densitometry test. The results of this study are the antibacterial activity of the extract and the ethanol-water fraction at concentrations of 10%, 20%, and 30% were obtained: extract of 0,670 cm ± 0,010; 1,076 cm ± 0,010; 1,242 cm ± 0,010 and the ethanol-water fraction of 0,830 cm ± 0,010; 1,232cm ± 0,007; 1,419 cm ± 0,010. The gallic acid content in the extract was 3,13908 mg/ g sample and the ethanol-water fraction was 3,82457 mg/ g sample. The contents of phenolic compounds, tannins, and flavonoids can have the ability to inhibit MRSA bacteria, according to the results of a TLC bioautography test.
