Abstract

Water in nature contains various dissolved and insoluble substances. If the contents contained in the water do not harm human health, the water can be considered clean. Considering the important role of water, it is very necessary to have a water source that can provide good water in terms of quantity and quality. The use of drilled well water is one of the alternatives used by humans to meet the need for water for both household and industrial needs. Hardness is one of the chemical parameters that can reduce groundwater quality. The level of water hardness is basically determined by the amount of calcium (Ca2+) and magnesium (Mg2+). This research aims to determine the total hardness of drilled well water in Dusun II, Sei Rotan Village, Gg Pasar Baru, Percut Sei Tuan District, whether it meets the requirements of the Republic of Indonesia Minister of Health Regulation No. 32 of 2017. Descriptive observations of the samples used were taken directly from drilled well water in Dusun II, Sei Rotan Village, Gg Pasar Baru, Percut Sei Tuan District, randomly with 10 samples using the complexometric method. The total hardness (CaCO3) of drilled well water that has been tested is 48.47 mg/L to 268.92 mg/L. The total hardness (CaCO3) of drilled well water in Dusun II, Sei Rotan Village, Gg Pasar Baru, Percut Sei Tuan District, was identified that all samples met the requirements in accordance with RI Minister of Health Regulation No. 32 of 2017. The maximum level obtained was 500 mg/L.

Abstract

The microplate incubator is an essential electromedical device designed to maintain optimal conditions during the incubation of blood samples, particularly in clinical laboratory examinations. This study aims to analyze the implementation of the Internet of Things (IoT) in a microplate incubator integrated with the Blynk application to improve the effectiveness of temperature and time control throughout the incubation process. The research method involved designing a microcontroller-based system equipped with a temperature sensor and wireless communication module, enabling real-time monitoring and remote control via Blynk. Performance testing was conducted by comparing temperature stability and timing accuracy between the IoT-based incubator prototype and a conventional incubator. The results demonstrated that the IoT system successfully maintained incubation temperature within a stable range, with deviations of less than ±0. 5°C, and provided remote accessibility for users. Therefore, the integration of IoT through Blynk in a microplate incubator enhances accuracy, efficiency, and user convenience in electromedical device development, with potential to support the digitalization of clinical laboratory services in the future.

Abstract

Stunting a significant public health issue worldwide, particularly in low- and middle-income countries where access to adequate nutrition and healthcare is limited. This condition affects not only physical growth but also cognitive development and well-being. The study aimed to explore the impact of maternal behavioral factors, including nutrition, breastfeeding practices, and health-seeking behaviors, on the risk of stunting among toddlers. Method It is a cross sectional study with retrospective case control approach. A total of 120 mothers who had toddlers aged 6-24 months involved recruited from Puskesmas Pegagan Julu, Dairi District. Variables collected were knowledge, attitude and action of mothers, weight, height, age of children and exclusive breastfeeding consumption. Analyzed was performed through bivariate and multivariate logistic regression. Results a total 28.60% of toddlers were stunted, with significant links found between maternal nutritional knowledge (OR = 0.45, p < 0.05), exclusive breastfeeding for six months (OR = 0.60, p < 0.05), and regular health-seeking behavior (OR = 0.32, p < 0.01), and reduced stunting risk. Conversely, inadequate sanitation facilities were associated with increased stunting prevalence (OR = 2.76, p < 0.01).
