Abstract

Pekanbaru City Government issued a letter of interest to the central government regarding the Letter of Interest in Participating in the Green City Development Program (P2KH). One of the attributes of P2KH is Open Green Space. In 2020, when referring to the Spatial Planning Law, Pekanbaru City should have 12,780,31 ha of green open space to meet the figure of 30% of the city area. However, currently Pekanbaru only has 3,195.08 ha of green open space, which consists of green lanes, cemeteries, city parks, urban forests, and road median parks. Pekanbaru's green open space is becoming increasingly depleted, making the Pekanbaru City government plan to change the city concept to a "City in a Garden", and this will be pursued until 2024. The location for further green open space can be identified to be more effective in reducing temperatures in Pekanbaru City. This priority area analysis was carried out using USGS image data and Geographic Information System (GIS) processing. The calculated data are NDVI, Surface Temperature (LST), Air Temperature, Relative Humidity (RH), and also the THI thermal comfort index for the people of Pekanbaru City.

Abstract

In 2017 the Mayor of Pekanbaru issued a Letter of Interest in Participating in the Green City Development Program (P2HK). In the letter, it is said that Pekanbaru is ready to fulfill the mandate of law number 26 of 2007. The purpose of this study is to determine and analyze the need for green open space based on the thermal comfort index. The study of this RTH is located in Pekanbaru City, Riau Province. The research tools used consist of hard work (Hardwere) and software (Softwere) which function to retrieve and process data. The hardwere used are; laptops, stationery, mobile phones, GPS, and digital hygrometers. The softwere used are ArcMap 10.3, R Studio, Mr. Word, Mr. Excel, AutoCad, and Photoshop applications. The conclusion obtained is that the area in Pekanbaru is still a lot of green, but in some districts it has a very minimal RTH and is not balanced with other land cover and the districts that are the priority for the next RTH are in Pekanbaru Kota district, Sukajadi, and also Sail District, while for the districts that are not a priority are the East Rumbai district, Rumbai Barat, and the Tenayan Raya area, but because according to the Pekanbaru City RTRW in 2020-2040 the area will be for industrial areas and also residential areas must be carefully planned, especially for city RTH. The most effective addition of green coverage to achieve comfort with a THI value of 26.2 which is 46% at every 62,500m 2.

Abstract

This study discusses the importance of scheduling in construction projects, particularly the application of the Precedence Diagram Method (PDM) and the Program Evaluation and Review Technique (PERT) to enhance time efficiency and identify critical activities. Project scheduling is a key element that ensures the project progresses according to plan and is completed on time. PDM serves to illustrate the sequence and interrelationships between activities through node representation, allowing the identification of the critical path. Meanwhile, PERT uses a probabilistic approach with three time estimates to anticipate variations and uncertainties in activity durations. A case study of a health center construction project in Banteang Regency demonstrates that the application of PDM and PERT, compared to the S-curve method, can optimize resource allocation, minimize the risk of delays, and ensure scheduling efficiency. With the support of software like Microsoft Project, the implementation of these two methods is expected to improve project control and ensure timely completion.

Abstract

This study examines the dock capacity requirements at Pomako Ferry ports, considering changing crossing patterns. The primary issue is the imbalance between vessel capacity and the fluctuating demand for passengers and vehicles, which impacts port operations. The method used is an econometric projection based on regression analysis using time-series data from 2017 to 2021, linking the number of port users—including passengers, motorcycles, and light and heavy vehicles—with economic and demographic variables such as GRDP and population. The projection results indicate a significant increase in dock capacity needs in line with economic and population growth, with passenger numbers expected to rise by 36.6%, and light and heavy vehicle transport by 57.7% and 35.5%, respectively, by 2030. The study concludes that the current dock capacity must be enhanced to accommodate demand surges and optimize port services for efficiency and sustainability. These recommendations are crucial to support smooth mobility and goods distribution in the Papua region.

Abstract

Rapid urbanization and industrialization in the modern world have led to increased urban pollution. Road traffic is considered a major source of air and noise pollution, negatively impacting the environment and human health. Roadside green infrastructure, also known as green belts, has the potential to reduce air pollution and noise from traffic by increasing the distribution of plants that effectively absorb pollutants. Vegetation along roads, in addition to acting as a noise barrier, also plays a role in controlling urban air pollution. Studies show that plants can reduce air pollutant content through natural absorption and filtration processes. Meanwhile, noise reduction by vegetation is influenced by the type of vegetation, the level of vegetation density, and the planting combination. The type of vegetation is related to the thickness and flexibility of the leaves. The plant with the highest dust absorption capacity is the Mango Tree (Mangifera indica) at 0.531 g/m2 . Then the second highest is the Saga Tree (Adenanthera pavonina ) at 0.224 g/ m2 . Meanwhile, the Kaya Tree (Khaya anthotheca) has the lowest dust absorption capacity, namely 0.212 g/m 2 . Land with vegetation is more effective in reducing noise compared to land without vegetation. The greater the distance from the noise source, the higher the level of noise reduction, with a distance of 10 m being set as the minimum limit for green belts.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the differences in thermal conditions between coastal and riverside settlements, focusing on variations in temperature, humidity, and wind speed during day and night. The research sites include the coastal area of Dusun Karama Tengah (seaside) and Desa Salotengnga (riverside). Measurements indicate that the coastal area experiences more extreme daytime temperature fluctuations, reaching nearly 39 °C, with nighttime temperatures remaining warm and showing noticeable variation among points. In contrast, the riverside area displays more stable temperature patterns, with nighttime temperatures ranging between 28–30 °C. Relative humidity along the coast increases consistently at night, whereas in the riverside area it is heterogeneous, varying from saturated to very dry conditions. Wind speed serves as a key differentiating factor: the coastal area is still influenced by land–sea breezes, while the riverside environment tends to be stagnant with weak natural ventilation. These findings highlight distinct thermal comfort challenges in both settings—coastal areas are prone to daytime heat stress, whereas riverside areas face nighttime discomfort due to humidity and air stagnation. The results provide a foundation for adaptive architectural and spatial design strategies responsive to local microclimatic contexts.
