Abstract

Honey is a natural ingredient produced by bees from flower nectar that has antimicrobial, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, good wound healing effects, and bacteriostatic. This study aims to determine the synergistic effect of vitamin C in improving the antifungal performance of Apis dorsata honey against Candida albicans biofilm for candidiasis therapy. This research design is true experimental with a post-test only control group design approach using the microtiter plate assay method to measure the Optical Density (OD) value of the biofilm matrix. The test of the synergistic effect of Vitamin C on Honey was carried out by adding vitamin C to honey concentrations of 5%, 10%, 15%, 20%, 25%, 30%, 35%, 40%, 45%, and 50%. Furthermore, the MBIC50 value between honey and the combination of honey and vitamin C was compared. The results showed that both honey and the combination of honey and vitamin C were each able to decrease the growth of C. albicans biofilm matrix against A. dorsata honey at various concentrations. The results of the Minimum Biofilm Inhibitory Concentration 50% (MBIC50) value in A. dorsata honey and the combination of A. dorsata honey and vitamin C were 84.27% and 63.56% respectively. Based on this study, it can be concluded that vitamin C can increase the antifungal performance of A. dorsata by lowering the MBIC50 value. Thus, the combination of vitamin C and honey can be used as an alternative therapy for candidiasis.

Abstract

Knock-off culture in K-Pop-inspired outfits is quite contrary to Indonesia’s objective in developing the industrial sector, which is increasing competitiveness through the optimization of industrial design that is rooted in Indonesia’s cultural wealth as a part of integrity in global trading. Considering the increasing number of local brands that replicate the industrial designs of foreign brands to fulfill consumer demands, it is crucial to study the knock-off culture phenomenon in local brands of fashion inspired by K-pop idols from the perspective of Law Number 31 of 2000 concerning Industrial Design (Industrial Design Law). This research is conducted using the normative juridical method which is strengthened by the socio-legal approach related to the knock-off culture’s progress in society. This research results indicate that provisions in Industrial Design Law are still ambiguous, especially those related to the principle of novelty and ambiguity regarding the knock-off products that haven’t been arranged clearly. Those indicate the lack of adequate legal apparatus that potentially triggers unfair business competition, and also increases the risk of violating intellectual property rights.

Abstract

Social media is a social structure that comes from individuals and organizations that are bound by the similarity of its users. Social media is an online media that is used as a means of social interaction online on the internet. On social media, users can interact with each other, communicate, share networking and various other activities online. Social media is made to meet human requirements because humans as social beings, are created to socialize. Because the development of the era is increasingly advanced, the main purpose of which is to facilitate users of social media so that they can connect with someone in one country, even between countries or between continents, making it easy for users to socialize. However, in today's modern era, social media does not only function as usual, it turns out that social media has influences on the character education of students who use it. Talking about strengthening the formation of student character through character education in the current context is very relevant to overcoming the moral crisis that is happening, especially in schools. Whether it is recognized or not, there is currently a real crisis that is worrying in the school environment involving students.

Abstract

Background: Down Syndrome is a genetic disorder that often affects emotional regulation in individuals. Children with down syndrome usually have difficulty understanding and expressing their emotions appropriately. Objective: The purpose of this study was to test the factor structure of the digital version of the ERQ for down syndrome children, which is called the DTbERQ (Digital Technology-based Emotion Regulation Questionnaire). Method: The subjects used in this study were 39 parents or guardians of a child with down syndrome in the city of Gresik-Surabaya. This study involved 2 translators and 2 expert judges. Then a readability test was carried out on 3 subjects before using the DTbERQ on a large scale. The analysis of this study used statistical procedures for validity and reliability tests. Results: The results of this study show that the DTbERQ measuring instrument has proven to be valid and reliable for measuring the emotional regulation of down syndrome children. Conclusion: The DTbERQ measuring instrument can be used well to measure the emotional regulation of children with down syndrome from the perspective of parents or those closest to them.   Keywords: Digital assesment; down syndrome; DTbERQ; emotion regulation.   Abstrak Latar Belakang: Down Syndrome adalah kelainan genetik yang seringkali mempengaruhi regulasi emosi pada individu. anak-anak dengan down syndrome sering menghadapi kesulitan dalam memahami dan mengekspresikan emosi mereka secara tepat. Tujuan: Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk menguji struktur faktor ERQ versi digital untuk setting anak down syndrome yang disebut dengan DTbERQ (Digital Technology based Emotion Regulation Questionnaire). Metode: Subjek yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah sebanyak 39 orang tua atau wali dari anak down syndrome yang ada di kota Gresik-Surabaya. Penelitian ini melibatkan penerjemah 2 orang dan 2 expert judgement. Kemudian dilakukan uji keterbacaan kepada 3 subjek sebelum menggunakan DTbERQ dalam skala yang besar. Analisis penelitian ini menggunakan prosedur statistik uji validitas dan reliabilitas. Hasil: Hasil penelitian ini adalah bahwa alat ukur DTbERQ terbukti valid dan reliabel untuk mengukur regulasi emosi anak down syndrome. Simpulan: Alat ukur DTbERQ dapat digunakan dengan baik untuk mengukur regulasi emosi anak down syndrome melalui sudut pandang orang tua atau orang terdekat.   Kata Kunci: Asesmen digital; down syndrome; DTbERQ; regulasi emosi.

Abstract

Indonesia as a multicultural country has a variety of racial, ethnic, cultural, and other diversity. Indigenous faiths is one of the diversity of religions or beliefs that need to be recognized. After the Constitutional Court Decision Number 97/PUU-XIV/2016, believers feel that their rights have been recognized by the state. However, in terms of education there is still discrimination such as the portion of learning for their beliefs as indigenous faiths. This research focuses on two things, namely the implementation of Law Number 20 of 2003 concerning the National Education System and school policies related to discrimination against Sapta Darma, Subud, and Kapribaden believers in Jepara Regency. The method used in this research is socio-legal by analyzing and examining the effectiveness of laws and regulations in community interaction. An understanding of several studies and theories provides two discussion results. First, the Office of Education of Jepara Regency still pays less attention to the rights of indigenous faith students in terms of the learning portion. Second, school policies are not sufficient in suppressing the potential for discrimination against students of indigenous faiths. Based on the results of the discussion, it can be concluded that with the existence of state protection for indigenous faiths, the government is obliged to protect their constitutional rights. The need for policies from the Office of Education of Jepara Regency in the field of education to fulfill constitutional rights that are able to suppress the potential for discrimination for students of indigenous faiths. ___ Referensi Buku dengan penulis: Purwanda, S. Abstract

Pendidikan Anak Usia Dini (PAUD) merupakan fase krusial dalam mendukung perkembangan emosional dan karakter anak. Strategi untuk meningkatkan kecerdasan emosional anak melalui metode pemberian reward (ganjaran) dan punishment (hukuman). Peran orang tua dan pendidik sangat diperlukan dalam penerapan reward dan punishment. Program ini bertujuan untuk memperkuat kematangan emosional anak usia dini melalui metode reward dan punishment di Taman Posyandu Candra Kirana, Desa Banyuurip. Sasaran kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah pendidik dan 20 wali murid peserta didik Taman Posyandu Candra Kirana, Desa Banyuurip. Pengabdian masyarakat dengan metode wawancara, sosialisasi, dan tes implementasi metode reward dan punishment. Hasil dari kegiatan sosialisasi dan implementasi metode reward dan punishment di Taman Posyandu Candra Kirana, Desa Banyuurip menunjukkan adanya perubahan emosional anak menjadi lebih positif setelah diterapkannya reward (65%) dan punishment (70%) oleh para orang tuanya. Diharapkan orang tua dan pendidik di Taman Posyandu Candra Kirana, Desa Banyuurip lebih menekankan pemberian reward sebagai cara utama dalam membentuk kebiasaan positif, sementara punishment diberikan selektif dengan pendekatan yang edukatif, sehingga anak mampu mengelola emosinya dengan baik dalam berbagai situasi.

Abstract

Model Pembelajaran Kognitivisme Sosial adalah pendekatan dalam pendidikan yang menekankan interaksi antara kognisi, lingkungan sosial, dan perilaku dalam proses belajar. Berakar pada teori pembelajaran sosial Albert Bandura, model ini melibatkan konsep-konsep seperti observasi, modeling, dan penguatan. Pembelajaran interaksi sosial, yang dipengaruhi oleh teori Lev Vygotsky, menekankan pentingnya kolaborasi dan komunikasi dalam pengembangan pengetahuan. Model ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan sosial siswa melalui interaksi yang membantu mereka memahami hubungan sosial dan menghadapi tantangan kehidupan bersama. Berbagai model pembelajaran interaksi sosial, seperti Learning Together, Teams-Games-Tournament, dan Jigsaw, mendorong siswa untuk bekerja sama dalam kelompok dengan tujuan mencapai pemahaman yang lebih mendalam tentang materi. Model ini juga mendukung pengembangan keterampilan komunikasi, kemandirian, dan kepercayaan diri siswa, serta mempersiapkan mereka untuk menghadapi tantangan sosial di masa depan. Meskipun memiliki banyak manfaat, seperti meningkatkan motivasi dan keterlibatan siswa, tantangan dalam implementasinya mencakup manajemen kelas, perbedaan keterampilan sosial, dan keterbatasan waktu serta sumber daya. Peran guru sebagai fasilitator yang mendukung proses interaksi sosial sangat penting untuk menciptakan lingkungan pembelajaran yang inklusif dan efektif. Secara keseluruhan, model pembelajaran interaksi sosial tidak hanya membantu siswa menguasai materi pelajaran, tetapi juga memperkuat keterampilan sosial dan emosional yang diperlukan dalam kehidupan dan dunia kerja.

Abstract

Cardamom (Amomum compactum Soland Ex Maton)  is a spice known for its  pharmacological  properties. It contains bioactive compounds such as flavonoids, alkaloids, saponins, terpenoids, and tannins, which have the potential antibiofilms activity. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of cardamom ethanol extract in inhibiting the growth of Candida albicans biofilm. A true experimental design with a post-test only control group design approach was employed. The extraction method used is the maceration method, and biofilm inhibition was assessed using the microtiter plate biofilm assay method. The Optical Density (OD) value was measured at 595 nm  using a microplate reader . The results indicate  that cardamom ethanol extract significantly inhibited C. albicans biofilm growth (p<0.05). The highestinhibition was observed at a 50% concentration of Cardamom extract. Probits analysis revealed the minimum biofilm inhibitory concentration (MBIC50 ) of  cardamom extract  to be  21.768%. In conclusion, cardamom ethanol extract is effective in inhibiting C. albicans biofilm formation with significant activity observed at  concentration as low as  3.175, with  the highest efficacy at 50%. Thus, cardamom ethanol extract can be used as an antibiofilm for the treatment of various infectious diseases caused by C. albicans biofilm. The findings suggest that cardamom ethanol extract could serve as a promising candidate for the development of novel antibiofilm agents targeting C. albicans infections. Further research, particularly in vivo studies, is necessary to validate its therapeutic potential and explore its mechanism of action in clinical settings.
