Abstract

This study aims to discuss value education through Islamic religious education at SMK Syahida. This research uses descriptive qualitative method. The research subjects were selected by purposive sampling. Data collection techniques include: observation, interview, and documentation. The research subjects were the principal, Islamic Religious Education Teacher, Student Council Advisor, Student Council Management, and Students. Data analysis techniques use data collection, data reduction, data display, and verifying. The results and discussion of this research show that value education implemented at SMK Syahida creates students who obey worship, are democratic, protect the environment, and are tolerant in MA, SMK, and SMA environments. This is evidenced by data verification with a data assessment rubric, that from the results of observations, interviews, and documentation show that value education at Syahida Vocational School is through Islamic religious education. This study concludes that value education is very appropriate through Islamic religious education.

Abstract

One of the negative impacts of this prolonged distance teaching and learning activity during the pandemic is that students lag in absorbing lessons, known as learning loss. Islamic religious education (IRE) as value education, especially in Indonesia, can also cause learning loss. This study aims to identify possible indications of learning loss experienced by madrasa students in IRE. This study uses data science methods with an exploratory data analysis (EDA) approach. Respondents are students in the sixth grade of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (MI), the ninth grade of Madrasah Tsanawiyah (MTs), and the twelfth grade of Madrasah Aliyah (MA). The total respondents in this study were 38,326 MI students, 29,350 MTs students, and 13,474 MA students. The results of the EDA found that most madrasas in Indonesia experienced indications of learning loss in IRE subjects during distance learning during the COVID-19 pandemic, both at the MI, MTS, and MA levels. This study found that the learning loss condition is influenced by various states and readiness for distance learning, both the preparedness of students to learn independently, the availability of digital content that is interesting and easy to understand, as well as the availability of facilities and technology for distance learning.

Abstract

Religious moderation has become a new trend upon conflict and intolerance resolution among religious communities, especially in Indonesian universities. This paper aims to explain the process of implementing religious moderation to enhance appropriate socio-religious attitudes and religious tolerance at Universitas Merdeka Malang. It is a case study with an in-depth interview followed by observation and documentation study. This study finds that the implementation of religious moderation is carried out in 3 stages, namely (1) coordination meetings of lecturers in the religious study forum (RSA) to discuss lecture material, (2) Preparation of RPS or Rencana Pembelajaran Semester or syllabus by including religious moderation material, (3) applying religious moderation through (a) religious education lecture, citizenship education, and religious enrichment. (b) off-campus classroom through (i) students’ religious activity units (SAU), including Jubilee SAU (Christian), Loyola SAU (Catholic), Alhuda SAU (Islamic) and Dharma WTC SAU (Hindu). Non-Muslim religious activities can be carried out at the mosque since this is the center of worship building on campus, (ii) activating a student’ council Instagram account for broadcasting information about religious moderation, and the existence of local cultures to represent national commitment and accommodative attitudes towards local cultures.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh pentingnya menanamkan pemahaman pendidikan karakter kepada siswa, sebab jika lemahnya pendalaman siswa mengenai pendidikan karakter bisa berdampak pada  memudarnya adat istiadat, moral dan budaya penerus bangsa. Sepertihalnya tindak dan sikap radikalisme, tawuran sesama pelajar, penyalahgunaan narkoba, minum minuman keras, bullying, dan sikap lainnya yang tidak mencerminkan sebagai anak bangsa. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk membahas mengenai peran guru dalam membangun pendidikan karakter di era society 5.0. Jenis penelitian yang dilakukan adalah library reseach dengan pendekatan kualitatif, teknik pengumpulan data dengan metode dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan peran guru dalam membangun pendidikan karakter siswa yaitu melalui metode , moral modeling, moral knowing, moral acting, moral feeling and loving, tradisional (nasihat), punishment (hukuman) dan habituasi (pembiasaan). Sedangkan strategi guru dalam membangun pendidikan karakter yaitu siswa dibimbing secara komperhensif mengenai akhlak, siswa harus di didik tentang keteladanan, membatasi kemewahan dan kesenangan siswa, menjalin hubungan yang baik antara guru dan siswa, menerapkan metode pelajaran yang selaras dengan keadaan siswa, dan membangun akhlak siswa dengan mengawasi lingkungannya. Kesimpulnya yaitu peran guru dalam membangun pendidikan karakter siswa di era society ini haruslah mengikuti perkembangan jaman agar berbagai permasalahan yang terjadi dapat teratasi dengan cara membangun pendidikan karakter siswa melalui tindakan preventif, kuratif dan resresif.

Abstract

This study investigates the interaction dynamics between Indonesian millennials and digital media platforms, particularly within the political context. Utilizing a mixed-methods approach, surveys were conducted among individuals aged 15 to 18, complemented by focus group discussions. The study examined their comprehension of digital media, content consumption preferences, and proficiency in digital literacy, with data analyzed using Excel 2021. The findings indicate that Indonesian millennials possess a profound understanding of digital media, exhibiting a strong preference for entertainment-oriented content such as movies, text messages, and digital videos. Concurrently, they continue to engage with political news via online media platforms and television broadcasts. The study also reveals a high level of awareness among millennials regarding the significance of digital literacy, reflecting their adeptness in critically evaluating and validating information sources. These outcomes provide significant insights into millennials' potential contributions to digital politics, underscoring their status as engaged citizens in the digital.

Abstract

This study investigates the detection of learning loss in Islamic religious education subjects in Indonesia. Focusing on the effectiveness of multiple classification algorithms, the research assesses learning loss across literacy, numeracy, writing, and science domains. While education traditionally involves knowledge transmission, it also seeks to instill values. Given Indonesia's predominantly Islamic demographic, Islamic Religious Education (IRE) is pivotal in disseminating moral and cultural values, encompassing teachings from the Koran, Hadith, Aqedah, morality, Fiqh, and Islamic history. The study's central aim is to discern learning loss in IRE in Islamic schools, utilizing the Gradient Boosting Classifier as its primary analytical tool. Various classification algorithms, including the Cat Boost Classifier, Light Gradient Boosting Machine, Extreme Gradient Boosting, and others, were tested. The study engaged a sample of 38,326 Islamic Elementary school students, 29,350 Islamic Junior High school students, and 13,474 Islamic High school students across Indonesia. The findings revealed that the Light Gradient Boosting Machine was the most effective model for Islamic Elementary and High school data, while the Cat Boost Classifier excelled for Islamic Junior High school data. These results highlight the extent of learning loss in IRE and offer invaluable perspectives for education stakeholders. Future studies are encouraged to further explore the root causes of this learning loss and devise specific interventions to tackle these issues effectively.

Abstract

Islamic universities have been accused of being the milieu of the growing movement of radicalism along with the new facts about the involvement of two state Islamic universities among 10 state universities involved in radicalism. The campus management has responded to the movement by developing a religious curriculum and interreligious-based learning to improve religious literacy competence. This paper aims to evaluative the practice of religious curriculum and literacy as a strategy in improving counterradicalism in campus. The interviews, observations, and data analysis resulted in the finding that the religious curriculum development with open minded principles, religious universality, local wisdom, and humanism values in the learning activities in either classroom and or places of worship of other religions can foster good counterradicalism and interfaith literacy and eliminate the evolution of radical attitudes among students. This paper suggested that the learning of religious education in campuses and schools include observation to the areas of interreligious activities and religious literacy studies to improve students' understanding of religious values among religious communities, so tolerance and counterradicalism can be fostered.

Abstract

Moral education is very much needed in Indonesian education, given the still high moral crisis facing this Muslim-majority country. Today, human life is far from the values of the Al-Quran and Hadith. Human life has become more materialistic, individualistic, and spiritually deficient. This study aimed to study the moral education concept explained by Imam Qusyairi in the Book Risalah Al-Qusyariyah and its implementation in reducing moral decline. This research is a Library Research with a qualitative descriptive approach by collecting library materials related to the research focus. The Risalah Al-Qusyairi book has some applications of the values of education, learning, and guiding students to have increased faith, obedience, and justice in life. Imam al-Qusyairi's concept of moral education must be applied to all aspects of learning and daily life, especially in the present, which is slowly destroying the human soul. By embodying the concept of AL-Qusyairi moral education, a person will respect and appreciate teachers for providing learning materials and making friends with their peers, practicing good morals, doing charity, and trying their best to leave bad morals.

Abstract

This research elaborates on the results of Islamic education policy research with the object of reviewing regulations on the administration of secondary and tertiary education issued in the 2006-2020 period. Based on the main task and function of the Minister of Religion contained in Presidential Regulation Number 83 of 2015 is to administer the government in the field of religion. The scope of authority for administering education is also in the area of religion, as emphasized in Government Regulation No. 55 of 2007. Since Law no. 20 of 2003 concerning the National Education System, there has been a fundamental change in implementing Islamic education. The Minister of Religious Affairs has a wider mandate in the education sector that extends to non-religious fields. This is marked by the widespread establishment of academic madrasas at the secondary level and institutional transformation to UIN at the higher education level. The Regulation of the Minister of Religious Affairs No. 90 of 2013 concerning the Implementation of Madrasas Education and The Regulation of the Minister of Religious Affairs No. 15 of 2014 concerning the changes in the Form of Religious Higher Education Institutions confirms the basis for changes in the orientation of the implementation of secondary and higher education. At the Madrasah Aliyah level, the development of non-religious study programs is growing faster than religious study programs. At the Islamic higher education level, students with a religious education background are smaller than those with a general education background.
