Abstract

This study examines the existence of women in Muhidin Dahlan’s novel Tuhan, Ijinkan Aku Menjadi Pelacur (God, Let Me Become a Prostitute) using Simone de Beauvoir’s existentialist feminist perspective. The focus of the study is on the representation of female characters within patriarchal power relations, religious ideology, and social pressures that limit their freedom and autonomy. The purpose of this study is to describe the forms of female existence portrayed in the novel. The method employed is descriptive qualitative, with data collected through literature review and textual analysis. The analysis is conducted based on Beauvoir’s four strategies of female existence: women as workers, women as intellectuals, women as agents of social transformation, and women who reject otherness. The results indicate that the female characters experience objectification and subordination within the patriarchal system. However, through self-awareness, critical thinking, and reflective actions, they strive to escape these constraints and assert themselves as free subjects. This novel represents women’s struggles to construct their existence and freedom amid social and ideological pressures.

Abstract

The need for public speaking skills among students, especially in presentations, is the basis for implementing this community service activity. The continued presence of monotonous presentation habits and the inconsistency of content with good presentation standards support the need for this program to be implemented. The purpose of implementing this community service is to optimize students' public speaking skills, especially in technology-based presentations, at SMA N 2 Semarang. The approach used in this is a community development approach. The stages used in it are 1) experience-based discussions, 2) material presentation (knowledge of public speaking techniques), 3) demonstration of making presentation media based on digital platforms, 4) guided practice, 5) independent practice, and 6) providing feedback and evaluation. Throughout these stages, participants performed well, with an average score of 87. This value is obtained based on assessment aspects, including clarity of delivery, material structure, use of digital media, and self-confidence. This community service program is effective in achieving the stated objectives and contributes to strengthening students' soft skills, helping them meet the demands of communication in the digital era. Based on all activities, participants have been able to apply interesting and interactive presentation techniques.

Abstract

Saat ini kita berada di era perkembangan teknologi yang pesat, namun ternyata khususnya bagi para penddidik belum bisa memaksimalkan teknologi tersebut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan penerapan media Wordwall pada teks deskripsi di kelas Vll MTsN 2 Semarang dan sejauh mana penerapan Wordwall dapat membantu pendidik dalam menjelaskan teks deskripsi. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik pengumpulan data berupa observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Penelitian ini menghasilkan gambaran media Wordwall dalam membantu pendidik untuk menjelaskan teks deskripsi serta mampu meningkatkan minat belajar peserta didik dan menjadikan proses pembelajaran di kelas semakin menyenangkan. Temuan penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa Wordwall terbukti sangat membantu pendidik sebagai media pembelajaran untuk menjelaskan materi teks deskripsi dan Wordwall juga memberikan pengalaman proses belajar mengajar menjadi menyenangkan.
