Abstract

There are several factors that cause the low selling prices of rubber farmers. Most rubber farmers in Jambi Province sell their rubber to collectors, and not directly sell it to rubber factories. The purpose of this study was to compare the income of rubber farming based on the choice of rubber sales, namely traders and non-traders. The scope of this research area is Bajubang District, Batanghari Regency and Jambi Luar Kota Muaro Jambi District. This research was conducted using survey methods, cost and income analysis, and comparative analysis of two different test averages. The average farm income from rubber farmers selling rubber through collectors is Rp. 2,652,357, - / month, with a total fee paid of Rp. 302,857 / month. The average farm farm receipts selling rubber to the auction market is Rp. 3,416,700 / month, with a total fee paid of Rp. 235,951, - / month. While the acceptance of rubber farming businesses that sell rubber to factories through the KUD is Rp. 3,273,975 / month, with a total fee paid of Rp. 463,513, - / month. There is a significant difference between the income of farmers in rubber farming who sell to collectors and the auction market. As for the income of rubber farming farmers who sell to collectors and farmers who sell to factories there is no significant difference. Keywords: Collector Traders, Non Collector Traders, Income

Abstract

The purposes of the study are : (1) to tind out general description of cinnamon farming Jambi,(2) to find out the comvetitiveness of cinnamon farming Jambi,(3) to find out impact the government policy toward output, input, input-output of cinnamon farming Jambi. Desaign of research is cross sectional. This research held in Gunung Raya District Kerinci, with total sample as much 82 farmers. Analysis method used approach Policy Analysis Matrix (PAM). The result of research indicate in the cinnamon farming is already in accordance with predetermined standards and intensification is needed on cinnamon farming.The cinnamon farming in the research area has competitive our the value Domestic Resource Cost Ratio (DRCR), and value of Private Cost Ratio (PCR) are less than one, 0,6735 and 0,6845 consequently. Throught PAM result, the impact of government policy in the output, input, input-output that the producer receives a price less than the price that should be received, subsidy and government protection against foreign input used, where as policy government toward input-output not effectively where is the profits obtained by farmers are smaller social benefits, so that farmers spent production costs greater than social costs used. Abstract

This research was aimed to (1) know the role of rubber plantation on regional economic development in Batanghari Regency, (2) know and analyze the impact of rubber plantation on regional income and labor in Batanghari Regency, (3) know the relation of rubber plantation production with GDRP manufacturing industry, GDRP transportation and communication, and GDRP trade, hotels and restaurant. This research used Location Quotient (LQ) analysis, Shift-Share analysis, multiplier analysis, and correlation analysis. Based on the analysis, the result showed that rubber plantation contribute positively to GDRP and labor and its position as the base sector that drives other sectors. Calculation of shift-share analysis obtained by the growth of rubber plantation in Batanghari Regency has a fast growing income growth but at the level of Jambi Province grows slowly or is degenerate. Based on multiplier analysis on regional income was 23,24 and labor was 2,69 which means that every Rp 1,- increased income and 1 person labor on a rubber plantation will contribute to regional income and labor Rp 23,24 billion and 2,69 people or rounded to 3 people. Correlation analysis produce a close and positive relation between rubber plantation production with GDRP manufacturing
