Abstract

The hydrogel's optimum hydration ability can lyse slough and necrotic tissue (autolytic debridement ability). This study aims to determine the description of diabetic wound care using hydrogel as a modern dressing in the development of BWAT scores. The research design uses a case study method and consisting of 2 samples with grade II-III diabetic ulcers at Pedis Care Malang. The results of the study on subject I obtained the BWAT score on the first treatment was 33 and on the sixth day of treatment was 26, in subject II the first treatment was 37 and on the sixth day of treatment was 25, showed a decrease in the BWAT score, which means that diabetic ulcer healing progressed. The healing process of diabetic ulcer wounds is also influenced by the nutrients that enter the body, one of which is protein which plays a role in cell formation. The researcher's advice for both subjects is that they are expected to be able to maintain wound moisture with sustainable modern dressings until the wound is declared healed and increase nutrition as a supporting factor for wound healing.

Abstract

Age and nutritional status are crucial in wound healing after a caesarean section. This study explores the relationship between these two factors and the duration of wound healing post-surgery at the Islamic University Hospital of Malang. Using a cross-sectional research design, the investigation will include all patients who had caesarean sections between March and May 2024, totalling around 31 respondents. The sampling technique employed for this study was total sampling. The Spearman Rank test was used to assess the data for statistical analysis. Findings show that 71% of respondents are in a non-risk age group, and 64.5% have good nutritional status. Conversely, 64.5% experienced poorly healing wounds. The Spearman Rank test produced a p-value of 0.005, indicating a significant relationship between age and wound healing duration, and a p-value of 0.000 showed a significant association between nutritional status and healing length. Correlation coefficients of 0.489 and 0.607 indicate moderate positive correlations. In conclusion, the study establishes relationships between age, nutritional status, and wound healing duration post-caesarean section, suggesting that future research should investigate other influencing factors like medical history and surgical complications.

Abstract

Metode penelitian quasi-experimental dengan desain two group posttest with control group.

Abstract

Hypertension in the elderly poses significant health challenges, so effective non-pharmacological interventions are needed. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of hypertension gymnastics as a non-pharmacological intervention for elderly patients at the Arjuno Health Center, Malang City. The research method used was a qualitative case study, which involved two elderly subjects with hypertension over a period of two weeks. Data collection was carried out through in-depth interviews, direct observation, and blood pressure measurements before and after the gymnastics intervention. This hypertension gymnastics program includes light to moderate aerobic exercise and flexibility training. The results showed a consistent decrease in blood pressure in both participants, with an average decrease in systolic pressure of 10-15 mmHg and diastolic pressure of 5-10 mmHg over the study period. In addition, participants showed increased knowledge about hypertension management and motivation to engage in physical activity. Subjective symptoms such as headaches and sleep disturbances also improved. The effectiveness of hypertension exercises in this study was achieved through a dose of exercise in the form of a frequency of 4 times per week with a duration of 30 minutes per session, which was proven to provide a significant reduction in blood pressure. This gymnastics program emphasizes light to moderate intensity aerobic exercise, which has been shown to help improve cardiovascular function and lower vascular resistance. This research contributes to the development of scientific evidence regarding the effectiveness of structured gymnastics programs in the management of hypertension in the elderly. These results confirm the importance of hypertension gymnastics as an integral part of primary care strategies for hypertensive elderly patients, emphasizing the importance of a tailored non-pharmacological approach to improve blood pressure control and overall quality of life.

Abstract

The most prominent change in the third trimester in pregnant women is psychological changes. Trimester III is a phase called the waiting or vigilant period because pregnant women cannot wait for the birth of their babies. In this period, psychological changes that arise are fear, worry if the baby is born abnormally, fear of pain in the process of labor and fear of not being able to take care of the baby. Multigravida mothers, naturally also experience psychological disorders in the form of anxiety about the shadow of the pain she suffered in the past during childbirth. Especially for mothers who have experience with high-risk pregnancies, the anxiety level must also increase. Where this pregnancy has a high risk both during pregnancy and in the process of labor. There are also mothers who have experienced traumatic experiences and this has been shown to affect the anxiety of pregnant women in facing labor. The purpose of this study was to determine psychological changes in third trimester pregnant women in the Lawang Health Center Working Area. The design in this study was descriptive with a cross sectional approach. The population was 34 and the sample was also taken 34 people using the total sampling technique. The instrument used in this study was a questionnaire with a closed interview method. Research result shows that on average (71%), their psychological change is quite good. The conclusion of this research result is that the average pregnant women doesn’t know about psychological change and this can be resolved with giving counseling about pregnancy. Hopefully when they’re checking their pregnancies in Health Center, pregnant women would reach out and talk about their complaint or public opinion, especially primigravida women in their third trimester, so it can decrease their worry about their fetus.

Abstract

Stroke is one of the leading causes of physical disability in the elderly, particularly related to muscle weakness and motor impairments. This study aims to explore the development of muscle strength in elderly post-stroke through grip ball therapy with a qualitative approach. The study involves two elderly post-stroke subjects selected using purposive sampling. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and observations, and analyzed using a thematic approach. The results show that grip ball therapy significantly improves muscle strength in the affected hand of both subjects. The first subject experienced an improvement in right-hand strength, enabling greater independence in daily activities. The second subject reported increased strength in the left hand, making it easier to perform daily tasks independently. Additionally, this therapy had a positive impact on the psychological condition of the subjects, such as feelings of satisfaction, confidence, and gratitude for the progress achieved. This study concludes that grip ball therapy is a simple, effective, and affordable rehabilitation alternative for elderly post-stroke individuals, particularly in areas with limited access to medical facilities. This therapy not only enhances muscle strength but also has a positive impact on the overall quality of life of the patients. Further research is recommended to explore the long-term benefits of this therapy and to integrate psychological aspects into stroke rehabilitation approaches
