Abstract

This research aims to examine Biology teachers' views on the effectiveness of Project Based Learning (PjBL) in building a conducive learning environment that increases student involvement and socio-cultural awareness in Biology learning in Indonesia. In addition, this research aims to explore the methods used by Biology teachers in implementing differentiation in Biology education in the Indonesian context. The approach was taken with a sequential mixed methods strategy, which ensured comprehensive data collection. and the use of qualitative and quantitative methods starting with distributing questionnaires to 200 Biology teachers, followed by focus group interviews with eight volunteer educators. The results of the study state that Biology educators consider project-based learning as a useful teaching method that contributes to increased student engagement, increased social dynamics in the classroom, cultural appreciation, and effective implementation of strategies for differentiated learning. These findings have implications across multiple domains, including teacher professional development, academic administration, curriculum design, and decision-making processes. Furthermore, the insights gained from this research may extend beyond the boundaries of Biology education, attracting interest from stakeholders in a variety of academic disciplines.

Abstract

Penurunan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa, khususnya dalam mata pelajaran sains seperti Biologi, menjadi perhatian serius dalam dunia pendidikan. Salah satu penyebabnya adalah minimnya model pembelajaran inovatif yang mendorong keterlibatan aktif siswa dalam memecahkan masalah kontekstual. Artikel ini bertujuan mengkaji integrasi model Problem Based Learning (PBL) dengan prinsip Deep Learning sebagai strategi pembelajaran untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa SMA pada materi sistem ekskresi manusia. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Systematic Literature Review (SLR) dengan menganalisis berbagai studi empiris dan literatur teoretis yang diterbitkan dalam sepuluh tahun terakhir. Artikel yang ditinjau diperoleh dari database seperti Google Scholar, Scopus, dan ScienceDirect dengan kriteria inklusi yang mencakup penerapan PBL, Deep Learning, atau kombinasi keduanya dalam pendidikan sains. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa integrasi PBL dan Deep Learning efektif meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa melalui pendekatan pembelajaran yang berpusat pada siswa. Siswa terdorong untuk membangun pemahaman melalui penyelidikan aktif, diskusi kelompok, dan refleksi mendalam. Selain itu, prinsip Deep Learning membantu menciptakan pengalaman belajar yang bermakna dan berkelanjutan. Model ini juga terbukti meningkatkan motivasi dan partisipasi siswa, sehingga direkomendasikan sebagai strategi alternatif dalam pembelajaran Biologi.

Abstract

One of the factors for improving the quality of education in schools is teaching materials. Based on the results of observations at SMAN 1 Sitiung students have not used e-modules but use electronic teaching materials in the form of pdf files downloaded from the internet and only in the form of writing and a few pictures. Based on the questionnaire results, it is known that students have difficulty understanding the concept of the respiratory system material. This causes low student learning outcomes as evidenced by the daily test scores that are still below the minimum completeness criteria. So, it takes teaching materials that can help in visualizing the subject matter. This type of research is Plomp model development research which consists of three stages: the initial investigation stage, the development or prototyping stage, and the assessment stage. The research subjects were class XI students at SMAN 1 Sitiung for the 2022-2023 academic year. Validation results by the validator on e-module-based Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) show an average grade 88.05% (very valid). Practical results by Biology teachers showed an average score of 87.50% (very practical) and 88.28% students (very practical). Effectiveness test data has effectiveness with very effective criteria in terms of cognitive competency assessment with an average of 83.59, affective with an average of 84.24, and psychomotor with an average of 81.08

Abstract

Technological developments have a big influence on the learning process. Various positive influences can be seen with technological developments, one of which is electronic learning media. The existence of electronic-based media has a positive impact on learning because of the various advantages it has. In reality in the field, there are still many biology teachers who do not use electronic learning media in the learning process. Learning media that does not utilize technology tends not to attract students' attention due to its monotonous nature. Based on these reasons, researchers developed electronic learning media in the form of e-modules based on Google sites. E-module is able to visualize and clarify various abstract concepts. E-modules can help teachers to facilitate students in learning and support the learning process. The development of a Google Sites-based e-module was created using the Plomp model which consists of 3 stages, namely the initial investigation stage (preliminary research), the development or prototyping phase (development or prototyping phase), and the assessment phase (assessment phase). The results of the e-module development show that the overall validation value of the Google Sites-based e-module is 86.40% (very valid) from experts. Furthermore, the practicality assessment given by the teacher towards the Google Sites-based e-module showed an average result of 96.25% (very practical).

Abstract

The Merdeka Curriculum is a curriculum policy that provides schools the freedom to develop a curriculum according to the needs and learning environment of the students. This curriculum, which has been in place for the past three years, must be evaluated on a micro level. This study aims to reveal the implementation of biology learning in the Merdeka Curriculum at State High Schools in Padang City. A survey method using a questionnaire instrument consisting of 70 statements regarding lesson planning, learning implementation, learning assessment, the Pancasila student profile, and learning obstacles was used to collect data. The research sample consisted of 34 biology teachers and 100 students at State High Schools in Padang City. The results showed that the aspect of lesson planning scored 78.78% in the good category, the aspect of learning implementation scored 80.82% in the good category, the element of learning assessment scored 79.26% in the good category, the aspect of the Pancasila student profile scored 78.04% in the good category, and learning obstacles scored 43.06% in the small category. Overall, the implementation of biology learning in the Merdeka Curriculum at State High Schools in Padang is in a good category with minor obstacles.

Abstract

Berbicara di depan umum adalah sebuah keterampilan yang penting dan sanggat diperlukan dalam berbagai aspek kehidupan, termasuk dalam lingkungan akademis. Mahasiswa, khususnya calon guru, harus mampu berkomunikasi secara efektif di hadapan publik. Sayangnya, tidak sedikit yang mengalami kesulitan dalam public speaking karena kurangnya kepercayaan diri. Penulisan artikel ini memiliki tujaan untuk mengkaji hubungan kepercayaan diri terhadap kemampuan public speaking seseorang. Penelitian ini dilakaukkan dengan menggunakan metode penulisan artikel review, dengan data yang dikumpulkan dari jurnal-jurnal nasional dan buku-buku terkait. Sumber data diperoleh melalui pencarian di Google Scholar . Berdasarkan tinjauan literatur yang dilakukan, diketahui jika memang ada hubungan signifikan antara kepercayaan diri dan kemampuan berbicara di depan publik.

Abstract

Kreativitas dan kemampuan berpikir kreatif merupakan keterampilan abad ke-21 yang penting. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi efektivitas Pembelajaran Berbasis Proyek (PjBL) dalam meningkatkan kreativitas siswa. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah studi literatur untuk mengumpulkan informasi tentang konsep PjBL dan kreativitas siswa. Sampel penelitian terdiri dari siswa kelas menengah dari berbagai latar belakang sekolah.Diharapkan hasil penelitian ini dapat memberikan pemahaman yang lebih baik tentang efektivitas PjBL dalam meningkatkan kreativitas siswa, serta memberikan masukan bagi praktisi pendidikan untuk meningkatkan pendekatan pembelajaran yang inovatif dan efektif, Kreativitas siswa menunjukkan pemikiran keterampilan selama proses perencanaan produk, memproduksi, mendemonstrasikan dan mengevaluasi produk.

Abstract

One of the 21st century skills needed to face the 4.0 revolution era is problem solving skills. However, these skills have not been fully mastered by students so that they can be improved through the application of the RANDAI learning model. This study aims to determine the effect of the RANDAI learning model on improving students' problem solving skills on fungi material at SMA Pertiwi 1 Padang. This research is an experimental research with Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. The study population was the entire X IPA class of SMA Pertiwi 1 Padang. The research sample was X IPA 1 class students as the control class and X IPA 2 for the experimental class. The sampling technique was purposive sampling technique. The research instrument used 6 essay questions. The data analysis used paired sample t-test. Based on the research results, the experimental class students' problem solving ability scores were higher than the control class. The results of the paired sample t-test obtained a significant value of 0.000 ˂ 0.05, meaning that there is a significant difference in the improvement of problem solving skills between the experimental class and the control class. So it can be concluded that the application of the RANDAI learning model has a positive effect in improving problem solving skills on fungi material in class X SMA Pertiwi 1 Padang.

Abstract

Hasil analisis awal yang menunjukkan kurangnya kemampuan system thinking peserta didik kelas XI SMAN 5 Padang berada pada kriteria yang perlu ditingkatkan. Penerapan model PBL juga masih belum optimal dalam pembelajaran biologi. Hal ini dikarenakan guru yang cenderung belajar dengan metode ceramah. Untuk itu, perlu upaya untuk meningkatkan system thinking peserta didik melalui penerapan model PBL dalam pembelajaran serta melihat faktor IQ peserta didik. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui pengaruh PBL terhadap system thinking peserta didik dengan diferensiasi intelektual kelas XI SMAN 5 Padang.Jenis penelitian kuasi eksperimen dengan rancangan post-test only control group design. Populasi adalah seluruh kelas XI MIPA SMAN 5 Padang tahun pelajaran 2022/2023. Sampel pada penelitian ini adalah peserta didik kelas XI MIPA 1 sebagai kelas kontrol dan XI MIPA 7 sebagai kelas eksperimen. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Instrumen penilaian system thinking berupa tes essay yang jawabannya dalam bentuk peta konsep. Analisis data menggunakan uji independent sample t-test dan uji korelasi rank spearman menggunakan SPSS versi 25.Hasil penelitian system thinking pada kelas eksperimen memiliki nilai yang lebih tinggi daripada kelas kontrol dengan nilai rata-rata kelas eksperimen sebesar 67,27 dan kelas kontrol sebesar 54,86. Hasil analisis data pengaruh PBL terhadap system thinking peserta didik sebesar 0,000 0,05, artinya terdapat perbedaan signifikan system thinking antara kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Hasil penelitian hubungan IQ dan system thinking peserta didik kelas eksperimen lebih tinggi daripada kelas kontrol dengan nilai koefisien korelasi IQ pada kelas eksperimen sebesar 0,446 atau 19,8% dan pada kelas kontrol sebesar 0,091 atau 0,8%. Artinya kelas yang menggunakan model PBL dalam pembelajaran biologi memberikan nilai kontribusi IQ sebesar 19,8% terhadap system thinking dan sisanya dipengaruhi oleh faktor lainnya yaitu faktor eksternal dan faktor internal. Kesimpulan yang diperoleh adalah terdapat pengaruh model PBL terhadap system thinking peserta didik dengan diferensiasi intelektual kelas XI SMAN 5 Padang.

Abstract

The concept of world tourism has shifted and is moving towards an ecotourism model due to the saturation of tourists visiting artificial tourist attractions. Nagari Manggopoh, located in Agam Regency, West Sumatra Province, has an image as an area rich in ecotourism potential. This is supported by the potential of the Kalulutan River that stretches across Nagari Manggopoh. One of the very unique natural resources found in the waters of the Kalulutan River is Lubuk Larangan. However, Lubuk Larangan, which should be a protection zone for the sustainability of natural resources, has instead become a popular destination for anglers from various regions in Agam Regency. This can result in overfishing. In addition, uncontrolled tourist visits can cause a decrease in the fish population in the river because the activities carried out by these tourists can disrupt the overall aquatic ecosystem. The purpose of this community partnership program is to provide training to the Dasa Wisma Mawar 1 group in an effort to develop sustainable culture-based river ecotourism in Nagari Manggopoh, Agam Regency, West Sumatra Province through a community empowerment approach (community base development). The implementation method used is Oriented-Project Planning (OPP). Based on the results of the study, it can be seen that training on river ecotourism development based on sustainable culture in Nagari Manggopoh is able to increase participants' knowledge about the concept of river ecotourism development and management based on sustainable culture.
