Abstract

This study explores the effectiveness of community empowerment through health education on self-medication for cough and the utilization of herbal remedies in Wawobeau Village, South Wawonii, Southeast Sulawesi. Using a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach, this research emphasizes the active involvement of the local community in every stage of the empowerment process. The findings indicate that the education program significantly enhanced the community’s knowledge and skills in managing minor health issues, particularly coughs. Before the intervention, many individuals either ignored symptoms or relied on inappropriate treatments. However, after participating in the program, the community became more proactive in seeking proper solutions, whether through the correct practice of self-medication or the use of locally available herbal remedies. The participatory approach ensured that the information was not only received but also internalized and applied by the community, leading to behavioral changes. Overall, this study highlights the importance of community-based health education as a means of knowledge transfer and a tool for fostering collective awareness and responsibility in maintaining public health. The findings suggest that such initiatives contribute to improving the overall quality of life in the region.

Abstract

This study examines the transformation of the profit-sharing system in Islamic banking through the application of mathematical models and digital technology. Profit sharing is a fundamental principle in Islamic finance that emphasizes justice, transparency, and blessings in financial transactions; however, its practical implementation often encounters challenges related to complex calculations and limited technological support. Therefore, this study aims to analyze how mathematical models and digital technologies can enhance the effectiveness and transparency of profit-sharing mechanisms in Islamic banking. This research employs a qualitative approach using a literature review and document analysis to examine relevant theories, previous studies, and current practices. The findings indicate that the application of mathematical models improves the accuracy of profit distribution calculations and supports more efficient decision making processes. Furthermore, the integration of digital technologies, such as blockchain and big data, significantly enhances transparency, strengthens public trust, and expands financial inclusion, particularly for communities in remote areas. Nevertheless, issues related to data security, digital literacy, and Sharia compliance remain key challenges. Overall, this study concludes that the synergy between mathematical approaches and digital technology plays a crucial role in strengthening a sustainable, transparent, and equitable Islamic financing system aligned with the objectives of Sharia (maqashid shariah).

Abstract

The rapid expansion of social media has transformed the way students access religious information and engage in public discourse, creating both opportunities and challenges in addressing digital radicalism. In this context, promoting religious moderation has become an important strategy for fostering tolerance and balanced perspectives among young people. However, empirical studies examining how social media influences students’ attitudes toward religious moderation remain limited. This study aims to analyze the role of social media in shaping and strengthening religious moderation among university students. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, the research involved university students who actively use social media platforms such as WhatsApp, Instagram, and TikTok. Data were collected through semi-structured online interviews and analyzed using thematic analysis. The findings reveal that social media plays a dual role: it facilitates exposure to diverse viewpoints that encourage openness, tolerance, and critical reflection, while simultaneously presenting challenges through the rapid circulation of provocative or extreme narratives. Students responded to these dynamics by developing digital literacy and critical filtering strategies to maintain balanced perspectives. This study contributes to the discourse on digital religion and education by highlighting how social media can function as a strategic platform for promoting religious moderation among university students in the digital era.

Abstract

A number of studies have highlighted the importance of integrating Islamic values in science and social learning in madrasahs, but studies that specifically address the Islamisation of mathematics are still very limited. Most of the current MI curriculum adopts a competency-based approach with very little exploration of the relationship between mathematical concepts and Islamic teachings. This study aims to identify Qur'anic verses related to mathematical concepts, analyse the urgency of applying the Islamisation approach in mathematics learning, and formulate strategies for the integration of Islamic values in the MI mathematics curriculum. This research uses a qualitative approach with in-depth interview method. The research was conducted in several MIs that have implemented or attempted to integrate Islamic values in mathematics learning in West Bandung and Makassar. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with teachers, academics and curriculum experts. The interviews were semi-structured to allow the respondents the freedom to express their views in depth. This research highlights the importance of integrating Islamic values in mathematics learning in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah through the Islamisation of science approach. The results showed that although mathematical concepts in the Qur'an have long been recognised, the implementation of the Islamisation approach in the MI curriculum is still limited. Concrete steps are needed to adopt the Islamisation of science approach in mathematics learning in MI. The government and Islamic education institutions need to work together to develop a more integrative curriculum, provide textbooks that reflect the integration of science and Islamic values, and organise training for educators.

Abstract

This study evaluates and compares the integration of Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) in Indonesian language textbooks for high school students under the 2013 Curriculum and the Merdeka Curriculum. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, the study conducts content analysis of four textbooks two aligned with the 2013 Curriculum and two with the Merdeka Curriculum employing HOTS criteria derived from Bloom’s taxonomy. The findings reveal that the 2013 Curriculum textbook (2014 edition) includes 78 questions, with 17 in the analyzing category and 37 in the evaluating category (32 checking and 24 criticizing questions). In comparison, the Merdeka Curriculum textbook (2021 edition) presents 55 questions, comprising 14 analyzing and 32 evaluating questions (25 checking and 16 criticizing). Despite a decrease in the total number of questions, the Merdeka Curriculum exhibits a greater emphasis on deeper critical evaluation, reflecting a pedagogical shift toward fostering students' critical thinking competencies. The contribution of this research lies in providing empirical evidence on how curriculum reforms affect the cognitive depth of textbook content, thereby offering insights for curriculum developers, textbook authors, and educators in designing learning materials that effectively promote 21st-century skills.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of the application of humanistic learning theory in Islamic Religious Education learning on the improvement of students' religious attitudes at SMP Negeri 3 Bajeng. The population consists of all students at the school, and the sample comprises 26 randomly selected students. This research adopts a quantitative approach using a survey method and explanatory research design. The sampling technique employed is probability sampling with the simple random sampling method. The instruments used in this study include a student religious attitude questionnaire and a learning evaluation test. The results show that the significance value for the relationship between humanistic learning theory and students' religious attitudes is 0.774 (p > 0.05), with a correlation coefficient of 0.059, indicating a very low relationship. Based on these findings, it is concluded that the application of humanistic learning theory does not have a significant correlation with the improvement of students' religious attitudes. These findings indicate that PAI learning requires a more integrated approach, such as habituation of worship and teacher role modeling, to effectively shape students' religious attitudes.

Abstract

Moderation is an important strategy in facing the challenges of social diversity in various modern communities. This study aims to analyze religious moderation as a counter-narrative to intolerance within society. The research employed a descriptive qualitative approach with purposive sampling techniques. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation, and analyzed using an interactive model consisting of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that religious moderation is not merely understood as a normative concept but is manifested in everyday social practices through tolerance, mutual respect, and the refusal to impose religious beliefs on others. Differences both interfaith and intra-faith, such as those between NU and PERSIS communities, are managed peacefully through dialogue and respect for individual convictions. Intolerance is largely perceived as stemming from religious ego and exclusive truth claims rather than from religious teachings themselves. Religious moderation thus functions as a social mechanism to prevent conflict and maintain social harmony. The study also highlights the crucial role of religious leaders, community figures, and digital literacy in countering intolerant narratives in the era of social media. Therefore, religious moderation serves as a relevant social strategy for strengthening unity and cohesion in a pluralistic society.

Abstract

This study discusses the implementation of Village Deliberation in the discussion and determination of the 2025 Village Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMDES) in Lempangang Village. RPJMDES is a village development planning document prepared for a period of six years, aimed at determining the direction of village development in accordance with community aspirations and local needs. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach, with data collection techniques including in-depth interviews with 12 key informants, participatory observation, and documentation. The results of the study indicate that the Village Deliberation in Lempangang Village was carried out with a good level of community participation, with over 60% attendance of village residents during the deliberation meetings, although community understanding of the technical aspects of planning still needs to be improved. The village government and the Village Consultative Body (BPD) play a central role in facilitating the deliberation, while decision-making is carried out in a deliberative manner through consensus. This planning process is also aligned with national and regional development programs to optimize external support. Constraints faced in the preparation of RPJMDES include limited budget, resources, and coordination between parties. This study recommends increasing community capacity in development planning, strengthening synergy between the village government and BPD, and optimizing local resources. In conclusion, the Village Deliberation in Lempangang Village has created a strong foundation for inclusive and sustainable village development planning.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effectiveness of nature exploration games in honing problem-solving skills in early childhood at RA Al-Jazila Padalarang, West Bandung Regency, with the population consisting of all students at RA Al-Jazila. The sample included 20 students from classes B1, B2, and B3 as the experimental group, and 20 students from class B4 as the control group, selected through purposive sampling. This research adopts a quantitative approach using an experimental method and a quasi-experimental design with a non-equivalent control groups design. Data processing was conducted using SPSS version 26, and non-parametric statistical analysis was performed with the median test. The results show that although there was an increase in the average score in the experimental group, no significant difference was found between the experimental and control groups based on the statistical test. This indicates that nature exploration games did not have a significant impact on improving problem-solving skills in early childhood in this study. However, the study provides an important insight into the need for more structured and sustainable learning designs to achieve optimal results.
