Abstract

Binjai (Mangifera caesia Jack. Ex. Wall) adalah tanaman endemik Kalimantan yang berpotensi antioksidan. Penggunaan metanol sebagai pelarut dalam ekstraksi daun Binjai menghasilkan aktivitas antioksidan yang sangat kuat dibanding penggunaan etanol. Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui aktivitas antioksidan, kadar total fenol dan flavonoid pada fraksi etil asetat dan fraksi air dari ekstrak metanol daun Binjai. Daun binjai diekstraksi dengan metanol menggunakan soxhlet dan selanjutnya difraksinasi. Aktivitas antioksidan secara kualitatif dan kuantitatif diuji dengan metode DPPH (2,2-difenil-1-pikrilhidrazil). Kadar total fenol dan flavonoid ditentukan secara spektrofotometri menggunakan reagen Folin-Ciocalteu dan AlCl3. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan fraksi air (782 ± 0,983 mg GAE/g fraksi) memiliki kadar total fenol lebih tinggi dibandingkan fraksi etil asetat (430 ± 0,288 mg GAE/g fraksi). Sedangkan kadar total flavonoid fraksi etil asetat (274,32 ± 0,082 mg QE/g fraksi) lebih tinggi dari fraksi air (118,8 ± 0,013 mg QE/g fraksi). Aktivitas antioksidan dengan Kromatografi Lapis Tipis pada kedua fraksi menghasilkan noda kuning berlatarbelakang ungu setelah disemprot DPPH. Fraksi etil asetat menunjukkan aktivitas peredaman DPPH yang sangat kuat (IC50 = 5,356 ppm) dibandingkan fraksi air (IC50 = 23,175 ppm). Kesimpulannya yaitu fraksi etil asetat dan fraksi air dari ekstrak metanol daun Binjai menghasilkan aktivitas antioksidan yang sangat kuat dapat dikembangkan menjadi obat tradisional.

Abstract

Langsat leaf (Lansium domesticum L) is one of the medicinal plants that can treat diabetes. Diabetes Mellitus is a disease characterized by an increase in blood sugar. Compounds contained in langsat leaves that function to lower blood glucose levels are flavonoids. Flavonoids are protective against damage to cells that produce insulin and can restore insulin receptor sensitivity on cells and even increase insulin sensitivity. This study aims to determine the difference in decreasing glucose levels in vitro with the addition of infusion and decoction of langsat leaves. Glucose levels were measured in vitro using a UV-Vis Sfektorfotometer using the Nelson Somoghy method. The results of the phytochemical screening test showed positive flavonoid compounds, alkaloids, tannins and saponins. The results of data analysis using the Independent T test obtained p-value 0.032 < 0.050. It can be concluded that there is a significant difference in the measurement of glucose levels in vitro with the treatment of infusion and decoction.

Abstract

Pulau Kalimantan sangat kaya akan bahan alam yang dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai obat, salah satunya adalah Terap (Artocarpus odorratissimus Blanco) karena mengandung metabolit sekunder yang berperan dalam menghasilkan aktivitas biologis. Penelitian lain membuktikan bahwa skrining fitokimia pada bagian daun dan kulit batang Terap yang dimaserasi dengan pelarut etanol 96% dapat menarik lebih banyak metabolit sekunder dibanding pelarut metanol. Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui perbedaan rendemen dari perbandingan rasio jumlah pelarut ekstraksi yang berbeda dan perbedaan hasil skrining fitokimia pada bagian daun, buah, dan kulit buah Terap yang diekstraksi menggunakan metode maserasi dengan pelarut etanol 96%. Metode esktraksi simplisia menggunakan maserasi dengan etanol 96% yang pada bagian daun Terap menggunakan rasio pelarut 1:25, sedangkan bagian buah dan kulit buah dengan rasio perbandingan 1:10. Skrining fitokimia meliputi uji fenolik, flavonoid, alkaloid, saponin, dan steroid-triterpenoid. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa ekstrak etanol 96% daun Terap memiliki % rendemen paling tinggi karena diekstraksi menggunakan jumlah pelarut dengan rasio lebih tinggi, diikuti oleh bagian kulit buah dan buah Terap berturut-turut yaitu 85,64%; 37,23%; dan 25,006%. Hasil skrining fitokimia pada kulit buah memiliki jumlah golongan metabolit sekunder yang sama dengan bagian daun, serta lebih banyak dibandingkan pada bagian buah. Skrining fitokimia dari daun, buah, dan kulit buah Terap yang dimaserasi dengan etanol 96% teridentifikasi lebih banyak mengandung golongan metabolit sekunder meliputi fenol, flavonoid, saponin dan alkaloid, dibanding maserasi menggunakan metanol. Abstract

One of the components that make up essential oils is phenolic compounds which are widely containedin the leaves and bark of the Balik Angin plant (Alphitonia incana (Roxb.) Teijsm. & Binn. ex Kurz).This study aimed to identify phenolic compounds and antioxidant activity of essential oils from thebark of the Balik Angin plant. The essential oils isolation using hydrodistillation and the compoundswere analyzed using gas chromatography-mass spectroscopy (GC-MS). Qualitatively antioxidantactivity test used thin layer chromatography (TLC) and quantitatively by measuring the absorbance of2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) radicals residue that did not react against compounds reducer.The results showed the essential oils contain major compounds which are methyl salicylate followedby methyl palmitate, 2,2-Dimethyl-1,3-dioxane-4,6-dione, and methyl 12-acetoxyoleate. Qualitativetest results of antioxidant activity with TLC there were four yellow spots on a purple background. Thescavenging activity showed the essential oils had an IC50 of 229.056 ppm, while the gallic acid as acomparative standard obtained an IC50 of 0.618 ppm. The conclusion is the essential oils of BalikAngin bark that produces very weak antioxidant activity.

Abstract

A Clinical laboratory is a health laboratory that carries out clinical specimen examination services with the type of blood test material. Blood that is used as an examination material sometimes requires additional substances that can inhibit blood clotting such as anticoagulants. Natural ingredients that are thought to have anticoagulant content are taro tuber filtrate (Colocasia esculenta (L.) Schott). This study aimed to determine the potential of taro tuber filtrate (Colocasia esculenta (L.) Schott) as an alternative anticoagulant. The method used in testing anticoagulant activity is Clotting Time in Vitro. Taro tubers are grated and filtered to obtain filtrate from taro tubers. Taro tuber filtrate test samples are divided into 5 concentrations of 10%, 30%, 50%, 70%, and 90%. Each concentration was carried out 4 times with each treatment given a blood sample of 1 mL. The results of the phytochemical screening test of taro tuber filtrate contain secondary metabolite compounds of flavonoids, alkaloids, and saponins that have anticoagulant activity. Based on the results of clotting time testing that 1 mL of blood mixed with 10% taro tuber filtrate clotted after the 15th hour, while concentrations of 30%, 50%, 70%, and 90% did not occur blood clots after observation for 6 days. Based on the results of research that has been done, it can be concluded that taro tuber filtrate (Colocasia esculenta (L.) Schott) has the potential as an alternative anticoagulant

Abstract

Tuberculosis (TB) is an infectious disease caused by bacteria and transmitted through the air. Indonesia, especially South Kalimantan, records a high number of TB cases. Martapura 1 Community Health Center, which is known for its significant number of pulmonary TB cases, requires special strategies in handling and prevention. This descriptive research uses a cross-sectional design. The research was carried out from February to June 2024, at Martapura 1 Health Center, Banjar Regency, South Kalimantan. The sample size was 50 people, with the sampling method being Accidental Sampling. Data collection techniques include BTA examination and BMI (Body Mass Index) assessment. Analysis of the relationship between nutritional status and the incidence of pulmonary TB in the working area of Martapura 1 Community Health Center, Banjar Regency, South Kalimantan based on statistical tests with chi-square obtained a p-value of 0.006 (p-value <0.05). Therefore, it can be concluded that there is a relationship between nutritional status and the incidence of pulmonary TB in the working area of Martapura 1 Health Center, Banjar Regency, South Kalimantan in 2024. The incidence of pulmonary TB can affect a person's nutritional status.

Abstract

Tuberculosis (TB) is an infectious disease caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis that mostly attacks the lungs. Uric acid is the result of purine metabolism in the body. Actually, uric acid is a natural substance in the body but it becomes unnatural in the body when uric acid becomes up and beyond normal limits. The purpose of this study was to detemmine the description of uric acid levels in tuberculosis patients with anti tuberculosis drug therapy (OAT) at Puskesmas Cempaka. The population in this study was 22 patients with TB patiens who received OAT treatment. The sample of this research is 15 people with purposive sampling method. Examination was done in area of cempaka with capillary blood using rapid test method. Of the 15 patient studied with pulmonary tuberculosis who consumed OAT in Cempaka Puskesmas work area, obtained uric acid levels increased (26,67%) and normal levels uric acid (73,33%) in male gender (75%) and female gender (25%). Characteristics of age in the age group 41-50 years (25%), age 51-60 years (25%) In female gender. Should be monitored specifically for the symptoms of side effects of Anti Tuberculosis (OAT) by looking at clinical symptoms, such as nausea, vomiting, etc.

Abstract

ABSTRAK UMKM Kopi Jahe Arab Martapura menggunakan kopi pengaron asli Kalimantan Selatan sebagai bahan baku produknya. Kopi pengaron termasuk kopi robusta yang telah sejak lama dibudidayakan di Kecamatan Pengaron, Kabupaten Banjar, Kalimantan Selatan. Meningkatkan daya saing produk dengan memvariasikan olahan produk. Tahapan kegiatan yang dilakukan adalah persiapan, sosialisasi variasi olahan produk, penyerahan alat teknologi dan inovasi berupa mesin perajang bahan baku, pelatihan dan pendampingan kegiatan pembuatan produk dan evaluasi. Terdapat empat produk variasi olahan produk tambahan yang akan dikomersialisasikan yaitu 1) biji kopi pengaron – green bean; 2) biji kopi pengaron – roasted; 3) bubuk kopi pengaron; 4) kopi pengaron gula aren. Pada tahap awal variasi ukuran yang digunakan yaitu 100 gram.  Hasil evaluasi kegiatan mitra memiliki peningkatkan kemampuan dalam membuat variasi olahan produk kopi dan mampu menggunakan alat mesin perajang.  Tambahan variasi olahan produk dari mitra menambah daya saing UMKM dan dapat dikomersialisasikan.  Kata Kunci: Kopi, Greenbean, Roasted, Bubuk, Aren.  ABSTRACT UMKM Kopi Jahe Arab Martapura uses original South Kalimantan pengaron coffee as the raw material for its products. Pengaron coffee is a type of robusta coffee that has long been cultivated in Pengaron District, Banjar Regency, South Kalimantan. To increase product competitiveness by varying product processing. The stages of activities carried out are preparation, socialization of product processing variations, handover of technological and innovative tools in the form of raw material shredding machines, training and mentoring in product manufacturing activities and evaluation. There are four additional processed product variations that will be commercialized, namely 1) pengaron coffee beans - green beans; 2) pengaron coffee beans - roasted; 3) pengaron coffee powder; 4) palm sugar pengaron coffee. In the initial stage, the size variation used was 100 grams. The results of the evaluation of partner activities have increased the ability to make variations of processed coffee products and are able to use shredding machines. Additional variations of processed products from partners increase the competitiveness of UMKM and can be commercialized.  Keywords: Coffee, Greenbean, Roasted, Powder, Palm Sugar.

Abstract

Introduction: Soil-Transmitted Helminths (STH) remain a major public health concern, particularly in areas with limited sanitation. Conventional staining using 2% eosin, although effective, poses drawbacks due to its non-biodegradability, toxicity, and flammability. Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the potential of ethanol extract from the fresh peel of Balangkasua fruit (Lepisanthes alata (Blume) Leenh) as a natural alternative reagent for the identification of Trichuris trichiura eggs. Method: A laboratory-based experimental design was conducted using fecal samples containing STH eggs. The fruit peel extract was prepared through maceration with ethanol and tested at concentrations of 20%, 40%, 60%, 80%, and 100%, while 2% eosin served as the positive control. Staining quality was assessed based on egg color contrast, shell clarity, internal morphology, shape and size clarity, and background staining. Result and Discussion: Results showed that the 100% extract yielded the highest score (13), categorized as good staining quality, while lower concentrations (20%–80%) were classified as moderate. The positive control consistently achieved superior results (score 19, very good). Statistical analysis using the Kruskal–Wallis test revealed significant differences among treatment groups (p < 0.05). Conclusion: These findings demonstrate that L. alata peel extract possesses potential as an eco-friendly alternative stain, although further optimization of extraction methods, pigment stabilization, and validation across various STH species are necessary before replacing synthetic eosin in routine diagnostics

Abstract

ABSTRAK Jenis pengendalian DM antara lain pengaturan makan, olahraga dan alternatif herbal. Jenis pengobatan diabetes melitus antara lain dengan pemberian Obat Anti Diabetes Melitus (OAD) dari tenaga medis, injeksi insulin atau pemberian OAD dan injeksi insulin. Mahalnya biaya pengobatan DM memicu pencarian obat alternatif dari bahan alami yang dapat dijangkau oleh masyarakat serta memiliki efek samping minimal dibandingkan pengobatan kimia. Mitra yang dilibatkan dalam kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah mitra non produktif yang berada di Kelurahan Sungai Tiung Wilayah kerja Puskesmas Cempaka. Mitra tersebut terdiri dari masyarakat berusia 25 tahun hingga 65 tahun.  Kegiatan di mulai dari perencanaan dan persiapan yaitu studi pendahuluan, perizinan dan koordinasi dengan kader posyandu. Pelaksanaan kegiatan terdiri dari tiga kegiatan utama yaitu edukasi materi diabetes melitus, pemeriksaan kadar gula dalam darah dan pelatihan pembuatan produk. Hasil dalam kegiatan ini adalah terjadi peningkatan pengetahuan dan keterampilan masyarakat mengenai diabetes melitus dan pembuatan cuka apel. Pengabdian kepada masyarakat berjalan dengan lancar di buktikan dengan antusiasme masyarakat dalam mengikuti kegiatan. Terjadi perubahan tingkat pengetahuan antara sebelum dan sesudah diberikan penyuluhan. Kata Kunci: Edukasi, Diabetes Melitus, Cuka Apel  ABSTRACT Types of DM control include eating arrangements, exercise and herbal alternatives. Types of diabetes mellitus treatment include the administration of Anti-Diabetes Mellitus (OAD) drugs from medical personnel, insulin injections or OAD and insulin injections. The high cost of DM treatment triggers the search for alternative drugs from natural ingredients that can be reached by the public and have minimal side effects compared to chemical treatment. The partners consist of people aged 25 years to 65 years.  Activities start from planning and preparation, namely preliminary studies, licensing and coordination with posyandu cadres. The implementation of activities consists of three main activities, namely education on diabetes mellitus material, checking blood sugar levels and training on making products. The result of this activity is an increase in public knowledge and skills regarding diabetes mellitus and making apple cider vinegar. Community service runs smoothly as evidenced by the enthusiasm of the community in participating in activities.
