Abstract

Dalam kehidupan baik dalam keluarga maupun masyarakat sering terjadi permasalahan permaslahan yang tidak dapat diselesaikan, masing-masing pihak mempertahankan ego. Hal ini akan berdampak pada kehidupan yang akan datang. Untuk mengatasi hal ini maka masyarakat adat Maku-Ole melakukan upacara ritual bura kemelu. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui apa saja nilai-nilai bura kemelu dalam konteks perkawinan masyarakat adat Maku-Ole. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian kualitatif deskriptif. Lokus penelitian di desa Lewotanah Ole, Kecamatan Solor Barat, Kabupaten Flores Timur. Jumlah  informan kunci sebanyak  5 orang. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan wawancara secara terstrukutur. Hasil penelitian, ritual bura kemelu mengandung nilai persatuan, cinta damai dan nilai religius. Rekomendasi, ritual bura  kemelu menjadi pedoman untuk masyarakat Maku-Ole untuk generasi muda masa kini untuk membenteng tata nilai dan prilaku dalam pergaulan.

Abstract

This study focuses on the role of the principal as a manager in professionalism of Catholic Religious Education teachers at SDK Botung. The aim is to determine the extent of the principal’s role as a manager in improving the professionalism of Catholic Religious Education teachers through. The study used a descriptive qualitative method. This study was conducted at SDK Botung, invoving 3 research subjects consisting of the principal and 2 Catholic Religious Education teachers. Data were collected through interviews, observations and documentation, then analyzed using data reducation techniques, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The results of the study indicate that the principal has not fully carried out his role as a manager. So it is necessary to improve the profession of Catholic Religious Education teachers.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dengan judul Nilai-nilai Adat dalam Komunitas Basis (KBG). Penelitian dilakukan di Desa Tanalein, Kecamatan Solor Barat, Kabupaten Flores Timur. Pendekatan penelitian yang digunakan adalah normatif sosiologis. Komunitas Basis Gereja (KBG) sejak  Gereja perdana telah terbentuk. Komunitas Basis Gereja yang ditekankan adalah nilai kesetiaan, hidup bersama, bekerja bersama, loyalitas, saling membagi, saling mendengar, bersama melakukan pelayanan Injil Kerajaan Al1ah dan bersama menyerukan pertobatan. Bertolak dari nilai-nilai dimaksud, Gereja lokal juga telah memiliki nilai budaya telah tumbuh dan berkembang. Gereja lokal melihat itu sebagai  kekayaan dalam pengembangan KBG. Koun dan wuu’ lolon dalam bercocok tanam yang diangkat dalam penelitian ini memiliki nilai-nilai kerjasama, saling mendengar dan bersyukur. Untuk menuju model KBG masa kini, maka prinsip Koun dan wuu’ lolon  yang telah merasuk di setiap klan dalam adat istiadat dalam hal ini bercocok tanam harus menjadi menjadi prinsip-prinsip yang menjiwai sebuah KBG.

Abstract

This study explores assessment practices in Catholic religious education across junior secondary schools in Indonesia, with the primary aim of understanding how teachers evaluate student learning in plural and culturally diverse contexts. Set against the backdrop of Indonesia’s multicultural society, the research addresses the growing need for inclusive, value-based, and contextually adapted religious education. Employing a qualitative narrative phenomenological approach, the study draws upon semi-structured interviews with six Catholic religious education teachers from Western, Central, and Eastern Indonesia. Supplemented by curriculum documents and analysed using thematic analysis with ATLAS.ti, the research captures teachers’ lived experiences and assessment strategies. The findings reveal that teachers employ a hybrid model of evaluation—combining written tests, projects, discussions, and reflections—that aligns with students’ social realities and moral development. Assessment is used not only to measure knowledge, but also to reinforce ethical behaviour, religious tolerance, and community engagement. The study highlights the importance of parental involvement, technological integration, and context-responsive pedagogy in enhancing learning outcomes. The implications suggest that Catholic religious education can play a strategic role in promoting social cohesion and intercultural understanding in a plural society. This research contributes original insights by providing a regionally comparative and empirically grounded account of assessment in faith-based education, emphasising the role of teacher agency in navigating doctrinal integrity and multicultural sensitivity.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis tanggapan mahasiswa terhadap implementasi lima tugas gereja leitorgia (liturgi), diakonia (pelayanan), martyria (kesaksian), koinonia (persekutuan), dan kerygma (pewarataan) dalam konteks kegiatan kemahasiswaan di Sekolah Tinggi Pastoral (STP) Reinha Larantuka. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi pustaka dan wawancara mendalam. Sumber data primer diperoleh dari sepuluh informan, yang terdiri dari mahasiswa yang aktif dalam organisasi kemahasiswaan serta pimpinan lembaga penyelenggara kegiatan. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui wawancara dan observasi. Data yang terkumpul kemudian diorganisasi dan dianalisis secara tematik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan konsensus atau kesamaan tanggapan di antara hampir seluruh informan. Mayoritas mahasiswa menyatakan bahwa kelima tugas gereja tersebut benar-benar diwujudkan dan dialami secara nyata dalam berbagai aktivitas kemahasiswaan di STP Reinha Larantuka. Temuan ini mengindikasikan bahwa kehidupan kampus tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai ruang akademik, tetapi juga sebagai medium yang efektif untuk merealisasikan misi gerejawi secara holistik melalui pembinaan mahasiswa.

Abstract

Penelitian ini berfokus pada relasi orang tua dan guru dalam meningkatkan karakter peserta didik  di Sekolah Dasar Inpres Wolorona. Tujuan penelitian ini  untuk mendeskripsikan relasi orang tua dan guru dalam meningkatkan karakter peserta didik di Sekolah Dasar Inpres Wolorona. Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif. Penelitian ini dilakukan di SDI Wolorona,dengan subjek penelitian melibatkan 10 orang dalam penelitian yakni guru PAK, guru kelas II, III dan, VI dan  dua perwakilan orang tua dari setiap kelas. Penelitian ini dilakukan selama 2 bulan mulai dari bulan April hingga Mei 2024. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui wawancara dan dokumentasi. Analisis data dilakukan dengan reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan.  Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa relasi antara orang tua dan guru terjalin dengan baik melalui komunikasi yang terbuka dan saling mendukung. Keterlibatan orang tua dalam pendidikan di rumah juga cukup baik, meskipun beberapa orang tua masih kurang aktif. Nilai-nilai karakter seperti religiusitas, kejujuran, disiplin, dan tanggung jawab diterapkan dengan baik oleh orang tua dan guru, namun perlu terus ditingkatkan.

Abstract

The importance of character education in the formation of a generation that is intellectually endowed but also morally and socially accountable should not be underrated. Nonetheless, evaluating student character remains a problem, especially across diverse local cultural backgrounds. In this research, an attempt was made to come up with a measure of character among junior high school students based on the local cultural values, and to achieve this purpose, the current psychometric theory of the item Response Theory (IRT) was used in the development of the instrument, as well as expert and data validation through interviews, questionnaires, and observations. The Generalised Partial Credit Model (GPCM) was the most suitable as determined in the analysis, and all the 68 items were highly conforming. The unidimensionality assumption was met (MSA = 0.977; first-factor variance = 77.57%), and the parameter correlations implied invariance and fairness across student groups. The instrument has a total information value of 403.08, a standard error of 0.05, and an information area probability of 98.52%, which indicates high precision and coverage of the measurement. Qualitative findings proved cultural relevance and semantic clarity. The study will contribute to the field of educational evaluation by offering a valid, reliable, and culture-adaptive tool that can serve as a guide for both research and research-practice in character education across diverse settings.

Abstract

Purpose of the study: The study aims to comprehensively map the ability of BIPA students from Timor-Leste in writing biographical texts, while identifying their strengths and weaknesses in several key aspects: clarity of content, writing structure, creativity and language style, adherence to theme, and spelling and grammar accuracy. Methodology: Data were collected through a biographical writing task, which was assessed using a specially designed rubric. A mixed-method approach was applied: quantitative analysis was used to examine the distribution of ability levels across categories, while qualitative analysis explored detailed patterns of strengths and weaknesses for each aspect. Main Findings: The findings show that most students achieved a medium level for clarity of content (57.5%) and writing structure (60%). However, creativity (65% low) and spelling and grammar (52.5% low) emerged as the main challenges. Specific difficulties were identified in the formation of derived words, the use of temporal conjunctions, and the construction of complex sentences. Novelty/Originality of this study: This study places biographical writing as an instrument for diagnosing the writing skills of BIPA students in the sociolinguistic context of Timor-Leste, a domain that is rarely explored. This approach allows for a more detailed mapping of students’ strengths and weaknesses rather than just measuring final scores for pedagogical intervention. The implications suggest that BIPA teachers should prioritize fostering grammatical cohesion, enhancing creativity, and refining the reorientation section of biographical texts. The implementation of a scaffolding model progressing from guided examples to independent production is recommended to systematically develop students’ writing competence.

Abstract

Purpose of the study: This study examines how character values are developed through cognitive and emotional engagement within school–family collaboration. It focuses on the roles of teachers, parental involvement, and student participation in supporting character formation. Methodology: A descriptive phenomenological design was used with nine purposively selected participants, including school leaders, teachers, parents, and students. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documents, then analyzed thematically using ATLAS.ti 7. Credibility was ensured through triangulation and member checking. Main Findings: Teacher shape character through modeling and instructional guidance; parents reinforce values through example and communication; and students show engagement through reflection and cooperative behavior. Strong school family synergy shared routines, communication, and aligned expectations enhances character habituation, though challenges remain in teacher capacity, parental involvement, and cultural constraints. Cognitive and emotional engagement act as mediating processes in character formation and align with contemporary character education theories. The study also highlights a contextual gap in the existing literature, particularly the limited attention to culturally grounded and community-based approaches in character education. Novelty/Originality of this study: The study offers a culturally rooted phenomenological model integrating cognitive emotional engagement with school family collaboration. Policies should reinforce educator training, parental participation, and consistent value-based routines across home and school settings.

Abstract

Keluarga sebagai Ecclesia Domestica dalam pendidikan iman anak. Oleh rahmat Sakramen Perkawinan, orang tua mengemban tugas sebagai pendidik iman yang pertama dan utama bagi anak. Namun kenyataan yang ditemukan di Stasi St. Yoseph Lamahelan bahwa ada beberapa keluarga yang kurang memaknai Ecclesia Domestica sebagai fondasi yang kuat dalam membangun sebuah rumah tangga. Hal ini diketahui karena ada beberapa pasangan yang sudah hidup bersama, namun belum terarah kepada perkawinan sehingga menimbulkan kerugian jasmani dan rohani pada anak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peran keluarga sebagai Ecclesia Domestica dalam pendidikan iman anak, dengan menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah teknik wawancara secara mendalam terhadap key informan. Lokasi penelitian di Stasi St. Yoseph Lamahelan, waktu penelitian sejak bulan Februari-Mei 2023 dengan subjek penelitian 8 orang diantaranya, 5 orang suami atau istri dari setiap kepala keluarga yang belum menikah dan 3 orang lainnya sebagai informan sekunder. Teknik analisis data melalui tiga tahap yaitu reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menyatakan bahwa peran keluarga sebagai Ecclesia Domestica dalam pendidikan iman anak belum terlaksana secara optimal disebabkan karena kurangnya penghayatan orang tua terhadap Sakramen Perkawinan dan kesibukannya terhadap pekerjaan masing-masing.
