Abstract

The family is the main and most responsible institution in society in ensuring the social welfare and biological preservation of human children, because it is in the family that human children are born, and the death of a spouse is one of the most important life events and can trigger stress. When a woman finally becomes a single mother, they are generally in a condition that is vulnerable to physical and psychological disorders. The purpose of this study was to analyze the description of coping stress on single mothers, sources of stress on single mothers and analyze the factors that influence the selection of coping stress on single mothers in Buduran sub-district, Sidoarjo district. This research method uses qualitative research methods, the unit of analysis in this study is the conceptual understanding of the topic of coping stress and single mother, the subject of this research is a single mother who is in Wadungasih Village, Buduran District, Sidoarjo Regency. Based on the results of the study, it can be said that the stress coping chosen by single mothers in Buduran sub-district, Sidoarjo Regency is more focused on emotional-focused coping (avoidance of running away, keeping distance, positive reappraisal, self-control and emotional social support) especially single mothers chosen. the longer one. Meanwhile, problem focused coping (confrontive coping) was chosen by subjects who had just become single mothers. Sources of stress experienced by single mothers in Buduran sub-district, Sidoarjo district are the economy, work, taking care of children, and negative views of the people around them. What factors influence the choice of coping with stress in single mothers in Buduran sub-district, Sidoarjo district, namely physical health, problem solving skills, social skills, and social support.

Abstract

This correlational quantitative study investigates the relationship between self-concept and self-regulation in learning among middle school students. With a sample of 270 respondents from SMPN 2 Taman Sidoarjo, employing proportional stratified random sampling, the research utilizes the Pearson correlation test for analysis. The study reveals a positive association between students' self-concept and self-regulation in learning (r = 0.357; p > 0.05). The independent variable contributes 12.7% to the dependent variable, implying that 87.3% of variance is attributed to other factors. These findings emphasize the significance of nurturing a positive self-concept alongside promoting self-regulation strategies to enhance students' cognitive development and long-term learning success. Highlights: Positive Self-Concept and Learning Success: This study explores the positive relationship between self-concept and self-regulation in learning among adolescents, highlighting the impact of a positive self-concept on students' overall learning outcomes. Quantitative Correlation Analysis: Utilizing a correlational quantitative approach, the research investigates the interplay between self-concept and self-regulation, offering insights into the strength of their association within the context of student learning. Promoting Lifelong Learning Skills: The findings underscore the need to foster a positive self-concept and provide effective self-regulation strategies to adolescents, as these factors contribute significantly to cognitive development and long-term learning success. Abstract

This study examines the relationship between school well-being and learning motivation among Islamic Vocational High School students in Tulangan, Sidoarjo. Using a quantitative correlational method, 222 students were selected from a population of 497 through stratified random sampling. Validated scales measured school well-being and learning motivation, with data analyzed using Pearson product-moment correlation via JASP software. Results showed a significant positive correlation (r=0.432, p<0.001), indicating that higher school well-being is associated with increased learning motivation. These findings suggest that improving school infrastructure and resources can enhance student motivation, highlighting the need for collaborative efforts to boost educational quality. Highlight: Positive correlation between school well-being and learning motivation identified. Enhanced infrastructure boosts student motivation. Abstract

General Background: Academic procrastination remains a prevalent issue among high school students, often leading to decreased academic performance and increased psychological distress. Specific Background: Previous studies have identified psychological factors such as learning motivation and self-regulated learning as potential contributors to procrastination. Knowledge Gap: However, limited research has examined the simultaneous influence of these two variables on academic procrastination, particularly among Indonesian high school students. Aims: This study aims to analyze the simultaneous effect of learning motivation and self-regulated learning on academic procrastination among 210 eleventh-grade students at SMA Antartika Sidoarjo. Results: Utilizing a quantitative correlational method and multiple linear regression analysis, the findings indicate a significant effect (F=16.01, p<.001), confirming that both learning motivation and self-regulated learning jointly influence academic procrastination. Notably, 31.43% of students were categorized as having high academic procrastination, while 26.19% and 24.76% showed low levels of learning motivation and self-regulated learning, respectively. Novelty: This study uniquely contributes by investigating the combined impact of these psychological factors on academic procrastination within a senior high school setting. Implications: The results underscore the importance of fostering learning motivation and self-regulation strategies to mitigate academic procrastination in educational interventions and school-based counseling programs. Highlights : Simultaneous influence of motivation and self-regulation is statistically significant. Over 30% of students experience high academic procrastination.
